Firefly Masquerade!

Who: Open to anyone who wants to attend
What: A Masquerade! Complete with masks, costumes, music and food.
WhenSaturday August 20th 8pm-midnight
Where: Genessia

[a field near the fairgrounds has been cleared away and set up into a tastefully decorated outdoor ball. There are balloons, trellises crawling with summer flowers and white holiday lights carved white chairs and tables, and a buffet table heavy with food. In the center is a beautiful wood dance floor in front of an amphitheater in which a small band complete with singer plays a variety of songs. Some instrumental, some not. Feel free to request or take the stage for yourself!

Dance the night away and at midnight get ready to pull of your masks and basks in the dazzling fireworks display bursting overhead.

*Not that she has ever bought herself flowers, but it's something she can do to explore*

Me too. They all look so charming and beautiful. It would be such a talent to dance like that!

[She likes spreading her love of flowers.]

*Sonico slowly shakes her head and looks down at her feet with an embarrassed smile*

No. And definitely not like those people. They're like something out of a fairy tale.

You are very beautiful.

[Terra smiles.]

Not unlike a flower.

*Sonico blinks rapidly at the girl's compliment, a little rosy now beneath her mask*

O-oh! Thank you. That's very kind.

*She bows her head before nodding gently towards the other girl*

You look like a fairytale princess.

[greenmagick]

[Terra looks down at her fingers feeling an uncertain knot twist in her chest.]

Fairy-tale princesses need a prince don't they?

[She doesn't have that. Her knight's armour is as black as night and his hair the color of blood. There are countless who've been hurt by him, she's been hurt by him and yet she continues to be his captive. Terra bites her lower lip looking out at the dance floor while keeping her expression calm.]

You should find your prince. I bet he's out there tonight.

[sonicosuper]

It would seem that way, from the books I've read and the movies I've seen. But I think fairytale princesses should be able to do whatever they want.

*Then she studies Terra's face a little closer, noting how upset she appeared*

Are you...waiting for your prince to show up tonight?

*Sonico turns to stare out at the dance floor, watching the various beautiful couples and slowly shakes her head*

No... I'm not so sure about that.

[greenmagick]

[Terra doesn't want to be rude but she ignores part of Sonico's question and simply looks at the young girl.]

Why don't you think your prince is out there?

[She doesn't think that anyone should give up hope however there might be something specific pressing against this girls thoughts and if that's the case then perhaps Terra can help.]

[sonicosuper]

*Sonico notices the other girl's lack if response to her question, but it's far too rude to probe, so she let's it go for now*

Oh...because princes like a princess and I'm more of...hmm, I don't know, something else. Maybe more like the princess's little helper sidekick.

*Sonico giggles awkwardly as she watches men guide women across the dancefloor*

Besides, let's say there is a prince in mind...I'd have no idea what to do once I found him...

Dance with him.

[Terra looks over at her with a small smile.]

If he's your prince then he'll ask.

[sonicosuper]

You think so?

*Sonico really isn't sure but she replies with a smile regardless*

It would be really quite nice, I suppose...dancing with a man who wanted to spend time with me.

Then wait for that. It'll happen.

[She seems sure though Terra has no way of knowing.]

*Sonico looks out at the dancefloor and folds her arms over her stomach, anxious*
