Action - the bae (bay)

[ another day, another new arrival. this one comes in the form of a small elf with long, white hair, dark blue-tinted skin, and bright pulsing leylines that curve over every inch of exposed skin. she looks... confused, to no one's surprise, as she stares both at the hologram and at the strange device given to her earlier. the clear signs of a newbie, though this one looks more curious than alarmed by what's happening.

after a moment of staring dumbly at the phone, the elf puts it in her pocket and fixes her attention instead on someone nearby. nothing and no one looks familiar, but she isn't shy when she approaches the closest person and asks: ]

Excuse me, do you have a moment?


Action - wherever man

[ with some questions answered (or not), lioriley has decided to try and navigate through the city(s) and better acquaint herself with the layout of the world. It's... going pretty well? she's only gotten lost three times!!! though it probably doesn't help that she continuously gets distracted by something new and interesting that catches her eye. at some point she's looking at the map, not really focusing on anything around her when she bumps her shoulder into someone. jerking back, she looks up. ]

Ah - forgive me, I was not paying attention. Are you all right?

[ Konoka's considered the docks a couple of times. She really misses her friends, and though she felt so far away that she'd wonder if she'd see any of them again, she worried that a return trip would only increase her heartache. To that end, she only hangs around the bay's edge, seemingly lost in thought.

She didn't even recognize the small elf coming toward her until she spoke, taking her by surprise. ]

Oh! I'm sorry!

[ She shakes off her thoughts and turns to the elf with a smile. ]

Sure I can. Did you just wake up?

[invigorates]

Forgive me, I did not mean to startle you. [ she's quick to say, taking a single step back just in case. to the question, lioriley nods slowly. ]

Aye, only a few minutes ago. Might I ask how long you have been here?

Mmmm, think I've been here for about 7 or 8 months now?

[ Konoka looked thoughtful for a bit. ]

The projection of that woman you saw when you woke up explained the gist of this world. We're in Genessia.

[invigorates]

I see. That is quite some time.

[ again she nods. ] I had gathered as much. I was curious as to others opinions of this place, though.

Hm, I'm just one person, but I'd say one opinion is just as good as any other.

Genessia as a whole is nice. There's plenty of things to do, and the majority of people are friendly. There's five different cities, so be careful on your travels, as you can easily get lost.

Everglade is a host of problems right now, but I and several others are trying our best to clean it up... but then again, Everglade has always been a bit more dangerous than the other cities.

[Terrance feels the pressure of someone running into him and turns. There is a moments pause before he looks down at the source of the voice.]

Aye love.

[He raises his eyebrow, looking at her map.]

Lost?

[ sheepishly, she nods; the leylines across her cheeks brightening slightly. ]

So it would seem. I would ask for assistance, but I am not entirely certain I have a particular destination in mind just yet.

[rockcollector]

Then I'll be unhelpful.

[Terrance shoves his hands into his pockets and pulls out a cigarette. With a few flicks of his lighter the bud bursts to life and thin wisps of smoke drift from the end of the paper roll.]

Watch where you're going.

[ well that was a quick shift in mood. the elf crinkles her nose slightly, stepping back once. ]

My apologies, I was concentrating a bit too hard on the map and had not seen you.

[If truth be told, Corbin normally does his best to avoid the bay when travelling. The potential of their being some new arrival wanting his time is too great. Today, he couldn't avoid it, though, and obviously it would be the day someone had a question.

The Englishman stops when addressed, looking at this newcomer and immediately is fine with her question as he looks to her quizzically.]

I...I do, yes. What do you need?

[invigorates]

Ah, well I have only just arrived and I am... curious. How long have you been in this realm? Assuming you are not a native, of course.

Just over one month. [Corbin pauses for a moment before responding further.] What exactly are you curious about?

[invigorates]

I see, so not too long. [ interesting. she seems to be taking mental notes. that, or she's a fan of long pauses. ] Other's opinions of this world. I suspected the first hand accounts of other kidnapees would be the most genuine.

[Rude actually barely feels the bump against him - rather, he does but he's trying to train himself into not knee-jerk reacting to everything as he might have done back home, where such an action might or might not have come with a knife embedded in him. Being in security, he needs to retain some of that alertness but it's a fine line between that and true paranoia and Rude is trying to remember where that line is.

The voice prompts him to look down and...oh. Well. Can't say he's seen anyone like her before. It's all masked behind shades and a natural inexpressiveness honed over the years but there are a lot of questions flitting through his head, none of which he plans to ask because that just wouldn't be polite.

He's not quite good enough to mask the very faintest hint of amusement tugging at one corner of his lips because the notion that he would be hurt from someone of her stature is almost laughable - or rather, that he would be hurt accidentally. Intentionally is another matter and another reason he aims for politeness first.]

Takes more than that to hurt me.

[Most might mean that as a boast, playful or otherwise. Rude means it as matter of fact because that's the closest he can really manage to reassuring for a stranger.

And speaking of reassuring.]

Could ask the same of you.

[It's not like he's easy to miss, after all, for those paying even the scantest attention, but he's noticed the map and that tells him a few things, at least.]

[invigorates]

[ as he looks down, she looks up, attempting to meet his gaze and finding herself instead facing a dark pair of sunglasses that obstruct her view. well, so much for that. either way, she smiles, waving off his concern for her well being with the hand not currently holding the map. ]

Do not worry yourself for me, I am fine. [ a beat, and then she adds, with the faintest hint of bashfulness. ] Though I am a bit lost, I admit. Do you know the city well at all? [ is that too forward?? ]

Starting to get an idea.

[It's the most honest answer he can give her. Genessia itself might be the area he knows best, even if he's spending more time in Nova City due to work, but he's not sure he'd say he knows it well enough by his standards.

Which, likely, still means well enough by anyone else's standards. But he likes to be thorough.]

Looking for anywhere in particular?

[ she nods slowly, having already set her sights on a single location that - at least to her - seems like the most logical place to start for answers. ]

The library. I was hoping to find some information about this world, if there is any to be had.

[hyuuga]

[Hinata had been leaving her home intent on traveling to Fayren for some training.

She stops in the middle of the street as she considers heading back to grab some of her money, just in case she finally decides to refill her small weapons supply while there. That is, until she's bumped into. She turns to glance at the person who did so when they start talking.]

Oh, no. No! It's fine. I--I wasn't exactly paying attention either. So, um, I'm... I'm sorry as well.

[invigorates]

[ she dismisses the apology with a shake of her head. ]

No harm done, I assure you. Might I ask what you were doing in the middle of the road, though?

[hyuuga]

[She blushes.]

I... It's silly, but I just remembered something and was going to turn around and head back home. But, that's fine.

[Then she notices the map.]

Oh, are you trying to find something?

[invigorates]

Ah, if you are certain.

[ the question, somehow, surprises her - like she forgot she was holding a map in her hands. ]

I am, actually. Though I keep finding myself distracted by so many new and interesting things around me. [ she's new. is it obvious yet? ] Do you happen to know where the library is?

[action; the BAE]

[ Tony didn't end up in Genessia City proper that often, but sometimes business needs required him to head out of Nova once in a while. In most cases he would have sent his assistant to take care of things but she couldn't be expected to do everything. Some people would argue that he needed to get out more often anyway. Tony had been idly checking his watch when he heard the voice that seemed to be addressing him. He turned and looked at her for a second longer than necessary, but not as long as some other people might. She looked like she'd just jumped out of Tron but unusual people were so old news anymore that he didn't think on it for long. ]

Yeah. [ He shifted to face her more directly, eyebrow piqued more at what she might ask than her appearance. ] I'm going to take a guess at you being new.

[invigorates]

[ if she notices him staring at all, she doesn't make it obvious. instead she smiles — half-laughs as she nods her answer. ]

You would guess right, Ser. Was it so obvious?

[mechanica]

Obvious? Nah. I'm just observant.

[ That wasn't really true. It was painstakingly obvious, but she seemed polite enough that he didn't really want to make the whole, "surprise you're in a new dimension" thing any harder than it had to be. ]

You don't have to refer to me like that, by the way. The whole Ser deal. Tony has worked pretty good thus far so let's go with that. And I should call you...?

[invigorates]

Lioriley. [ she bows, and tony is probably so sick of my characters doing that to him all the time. but whatever. ] It is a pleasure to meet you, Tony. Have you been here long?
