Who: Sora and you
What: Waking up
Where: Bay area
He's awakened in some strange places, before. Normally, he'd be able to say the tube was the strangest. Then again, when are things ever normal for him...? Maybe he should have never let his guard down. Maybe he should have never become comfortable with waking up in the hammock.
Because, when Sora had fallen asleep, he expected to wake up in the same place. He just- assumed he'd wake up in that cabin he shared with his best friend. Well, they hadn't found all the shards, yet. They hadn't put the ruby together, and he...well, he hadn't died, again. That he knew of, anyway.
So, yeah, waking up in a weirdly soft place with some strange items he'd never seen before hadn't been on his list of Expected Things to Happen.
He gave them a genuinely thorough look over- and, once he was finished, he was left scratching the side of his head with a frown. Soooo...he was in some place called Genessia? That was...no good. What about... Riku and Kairi...? Were they there, too...? His expression grew serious and full of concern.
Minutes later, he was outside of the cavern, items clutched close to his body. A look of determination slowly formed on his face as he looked around. Yeah, he definitely didn't recognize that place, but he wasn't even going to worry about that. He needed to find his friends.

We'll say sometime after Sora arrived?
But it wasn't and for once in a blue moon she wasn't overly impressed. Reaching into her pouch which she always kept on her person she looked for her journal to write to her crew asking for them to come and pick her up already, it wasn't funny. But she couldn't find it. Instead she found some other things instead she was pretty sure weren't there before. Especially on her chest of all places.
After she had spent at least thirty minutes looking things over, figuring out to wear on and to keep her walkie talkie thing within her pouch she had started to make her way out, wanting to take a better look at where she currently was and to hope that others that were with her before would come.
Once she was out she raised her hand and placed it on her head and started to look around. Her first thoughts were to find Sora and Riku, although at the same time she wondered if she should really leave them alone for a bit, let things work out for themselves and let things settle. After a minute of that thought she shook her head, now wasn't the time for things like that not when she was in a place that was vastly unknown to her. So taking a deep breath to calm herself down a little she started to walk on
"Sora! Riku! Selphie! Anyone? This isn't that fun you know."
Works for me~
He'd taken the time to situate his items. He hung the necklace around his neck and tucked the device away in his pocket along with all forms of information. That left his hands free to summon the Keyblade- or Keyblades, should he need them. In his past experiences, new places tended to result in either the navy, random monsters, Heartless, or Nobodies. So, no way, was he leaving himself vulnerable if he could help it.
Blue eyes narrowed toward the distance as he attempted to spot anyone... anyone familiar.
Hours passed, however... and he found no one. Riku...Kairi...where were they? Where were the Spades? It was too cruel to be a joke. Besides, his crew didn't tend to play jokes, period. Sure, they accidentally left Namur that one time, but...that was about it.
He could feel his chest tightening. He was...alone, then? That thought left him tightening one hand into a fist. It wasn't okay. They were supposed to go home, together!!! Just as he made a frustrated face-
'...ou know.'
Wait...that voice...
"Kairi?!" He was looking around rather quickly. As he looked to the right, he spotted a familiar head of red hair. Yes! It really was her!
"Kairi!!!" He yelled loudly enough for her to hear, one hand frantically waving in the air for her to see. Instead of waiting for her to hear/see him, however, he was running towards her.
no subject
"Sora!" She started to smile a little brighter, at least there was someone who was from their crew here. But she had to wonder just where were the others. She couldn't see them and this island seemed much bigger than what they usually end up on.
She made her way towards him and meeting him part way she went to hold him. It honestly wasn't that long since they last saw one another, but to her it really felt like it, especially when one came to a new place while one was asleep.
"I'm glad you're here."
no subject
Sure, that first time, she hadn't died. Still...
There was a smile at her words, and he nodded, "Heh...same here. I'm so glad you're okay."
no subject
"I think we really need to talk about what we should do next? I mean after all we don't have much about this place except the name at best and also that necklace and device." She said as she went into her little pouch and got them out. They were new to her. "Are these meant to be useful in some way or something?"
no subject
"I think...it said something about getting a job and a place to live?" He frowned and held the brochure up, "I think...this device is supposed to work like the journal, or something. And...the necklace, we're apparently supposed to keep on us all the time?"
He held the brochure out to Kairi, to let her read it, "Think...this is another world....maybe?" He asked in an uncertain tone, making it clear he kind of hoped it wasn't.
He was a little tired of world-hopping, if he was being perfectly honest with himself. He just wanted to go home. With both of his best friends. Was that so much to ask?
no subject
Which in her mind was rather annoying to say the least, but she didn't let it get to her after all they've had worse happen than going to a new world at this point.
"So first is finding a place and work. That shouldn't be too hard, right?"
no subject
He mulled her words over, for a moment. Maybe if it wasn't his (oh, who was he kidding? He'd lost count forever ago, with how many world's he'd visited) however many times it made, visiting a world, he'd probably be freaking out more. He wasn't, though. He was actually pretty calm, all things considered. To her question, he offered her a somewhat wry laugh.
"Yeah, I don't think it should be. I just...have to wonder if that's really all there is to it. I mean, look at where we were, before. Look at how everything was, even before that..."
There had to be...some catch...r-right? Sora wanted to believe it'd be that easy, though. He couldn't help but be positive, yet...a small part of him was doubtful, after everything they'd been though.
no subject
"We can wonder all we like, it won't help us get answers. We can find out why we were brought here by simply asking or something." Then it would be problem solved, right?
because I need more of this CR
Zeref had been somewhat worried. His conversation with Virgo indicated to him that this world was capable of summoning Celestial Spirits without their Key even being necessary. The fact that Lucy was capable of closing the gate didn't come as much comfort to him. The fact that Celestial Spirits could be summoned without their Keys likely also meant that his demons could be summoned without any of the Books of Zeref, as well.
Naturally, Sora wasn't a demon. That much was obvious as the boy climbed out, prompting Zeref to begin walking away. He didn't want anyone to get hurt because of him, and with his luck, he'll be someone who knows his name. He'd been dealing with enough, here; worlds that keep bringing him and the rest of Fairy Tail there against his will, yet taunting him with this by making it impossible for him to die. At least, not permanently.
He'll just be trying to walk away before Sora sees him.
yesssss <3
Well, he couldn't say it wasn't. It'd happened, before, after all. Once he was outside of the cavern, Sora spotted the figure of a man walking away. Blue eyes squinted, a bit. Wait, he recognized that person!
"Hey! Zeref, right?!"
With that, he was running, full speed.
no subject
"How do you know my name?" he asked, until he realized that Sora was getting dangerously close. Zeref his hand. "Stop. Don't come any closer. If you know who I am, you know why."
no subject
"O-oh, right...sorry, I forgot."
Then, it seemed to sink in. Wait...
"You...don't remember me?" Sora's head tilted, brow furrowing a bit.
no subject
"No," Zeref said quietly. "No, I'm sorry, I don't. Were you on Tenroujima? Are you a member of Fairy Tail?"
no subject
Sora's tone made it clear he had no idea what the guy was even talking about, "Huh...? I...don't think so? I'm Sora. We met in a place called Isla Empieza."
no subject
Zeref sighs, and turns away from Sora. "You're not from Earth-Land, are you? If you were, you wouldn't be so quick to run up to me like that. You'd know what I'm responsible for."
no subject
Thinking on it, he realized that it was a case similar to Jack...and Barbossa. It was just like with Selphie, too. The brunette stared down at the ground, pivoting his weight a bit, before reaching up to scratch at the side of his head. Guess...he shouldn't be...too surprised?
Okay, no, there was no getting used to having people suddenly not remember him. Heck, even with Kairi's memory lapse for that week, it'd been kind of difficult realizing there was nothing he could do but wait it out. Sora hated sitting by and not being able to do anything to fix a situation. He'd always been able to figure something out.
But, anyway, there was likely going to be nothing he could do to make Zeref remember him...and- Sora blinked at the questions. More strange questions...
"Earth...land? And, uh...I don't know anything about what you're responsible for. All I know is you were looking for this book? And, uh...well, we were on the same crew. We didn't get to talk much, because we both stayed kind of busy. Uh..." He lowered his hand and tensed his brow, "I mean...you never did anything to hurt any of us. You were always quiet and kept to yourself, but I always thought you seemed pretty nice."
no subject
Zeref sighs at Sora's next words. 'Seemed nice,' he wasn't the first to say that. He guesses anybody would seem nice if they were in any way different than how Zeref used to be. "I was very different, a very long time ago." And he's been slowly relapsing, if his new memories were of any indication. "There is no such thing as redemption for the things I've done."
no subject
Sora smiled reassuringly. He didn't believe there was anyone that couldn't be saved from evil ways, as long as they were willing to work towards being good.
"Look, just because you used to be...bad, or whatever, doesn't mean you can't be good. The past doesn't rule the future- we do!"
no subject
He liked the fact that Sora thought Zeref could turn over a new leaf, but it just wasn't that simple with him. Not when he continues to destroy so may lives just by being alive himself. The world is worse off with him in it.
"I wish it were as easy as you make it sound. But it's like asking a storm not to have lightning or a flood."
no subject
"Well, it's not that I'm trying to make it sound easy. If there's anything I've learned, it's that some of the most important things aren't easy. But, just because it's gonna be tough, doesn't mean you should just...give up. It just means you've gotta find some strong people to stand by you, while you fight!"
And...
"Of course...even if you can't do that- even if you're alone, that's still no excuse. Even when it hurts, even when it's nearly impossible to keep moving forward, that's still not a reason to give up. If the storm won't listen, make it listen!"
no subject
"I'm sorry. That's just not how it works."
no subject
"Are you okay?" she asked the boy, walking over to him.
no subject
...No, he definitely didn't recognize that person.
"Uh...Yeah, I'm fine." The being lost and confused wasn't anything new, for him, after all, "I'm just trying to figure out where, exactly, I am. It says this place is called Genessia?"
srry for brain fart
no subject
"Did you just get here?"
Normally Ryuuji wouldn't have adjusted so quickly, but this was twice now. It also helped that someone he met previously was also with him.
no subject
Folding his arms behind his head, he pivoted in his stance. He gave the person a curious look. Another face he didn't recognize.
"Oh, and I'm Sora. What's your name?"
no subject
"Takasu Ryuuji. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sora."
So...is it normal for people of different worlds to just not be afraid of his glares. It was awkward...not having people run from him.
no subject
"It's nice to meet you, too, Takasu!"
Yeah, he's just going to call him by the first name. Actually, why does he have two? Sora might ask about that, later.
"So, how long have you been here?"
no subject
"They keep bringing in new people. So if you don't see them, you still might later on."
no subject
Lowering his arms, he folded them across his chest, a serious expression appearing, "The last one brought people in once a month. Unless they died...then, they'd usually come back within a week."
A pause, then, "Well, it'd be nice to see them. What about you, though? Is there anyone you know, here?"
no subject
"So you were in a place the brought people from their homes too?"
Is what it was beginning to sound like.
"I was in a place before this, that took people from their homes too, before coming here. A friend I met in the last place is here with me. No one from my home is here, if that's what you're asking."
no subject
He paused, thoughtful expression appearing, "...I think I counted about ten crews?"
But, onto this Takasu guy's having a friend. Sora grinned brightly, "Hey, that's great! At least you're not along, here! And, who knows, maybe you'll find some people from home, too!"
no subject
"Sounds like they were busy." He's being honest about that.
Luke, well, Ryuuji was happy to have Luke. He just wanted to do more for the guy. Luke has already done so much for him.
"I don't know what I'd do without him. He's kind of been there for me since the start." He didn't want to risk losing him.
"But I don't doubt the chances of someone from home showing up eventually."
no subject
He shrugged, then listened quietly at the talk about the guy. Sora couldn't help but smile.
"Heh...I know that feeling. That's...kind of how I feel about the person I'm here with." His smile grows fond, "Even when I didn't know it, a part of her was..." A hand moves to his chest, eyes softening, "...always there, with me. Her strength is the reason I was able to keep going. And, without her, I wouldn't have ever...known about Riku."
Then he blinks, a hint of color appearing on his face. Wow, he hadn't meant to trail off like that. He coughs and looks to the side.
"A-anyway, yeah! I wouldn't doubt that, either!"
no subject
"Hey, are you okay?"
He figured he would ask since, well the subject looked like it brought Sora down.
no subject
Blue eyes cut to the side, he idly scratched at the back of his head. The Keyblade-wielder let out a sigh.
"It's just...some stuff happened in the last world that had me thinking about a lot of things... But, uh...a-anway! That's not important, right now."
no subject
He'll listen. Ryuuji had no problem being the person for others to vent to. The mention that it was lingering feelings from other world meant it had to be something big. To suddenly be uprooted and planted somewhere else when in the middle of something. That had to sting.
no subject
There was a long pause, and then he let out a sigh. Looking back to Takasu, Sora scratched at the top of his head with a somewhat serious expression, "Someone told me they were in love with me, while another person...told me they liked me. So, it got really complicated with them, before I left there. And with everything that had already happened, I...really wasn't even sure how to begin figuring out what to do about it. Now, I guess...I'll never get to? Especially if that other person isn't here."
Way to make it not obvious that one of them IS there, Sora.
no subject
"It is hard when you or they can't be around." That he won't deny. Even though Ryuuji wasn't entirely sure with his crush for Kushieda, it was still something he wouldn't be able to find out about.
"I know how you feel...but now that we're talking about it, I guess I kind of forgot." And he's being honest because he wants to help Sora out of this. "I didn't have time to think about where I was before when I had to worry about where I am now. Maybe it'll be the same for you?"
no subject
"Yeah...maybe. Well, I mean..." He sighed, "If I'm being perfectly honest, I didn't really...take the time to think about it while I was there, because I was so busy focusing on making sure nothing bad happened to them."
He let out a faint laugh, "I'm not really sure where the future will lead, but...well, Kairi's here, at least. That gives me hope that maybe...he'll show up, too."
Eh, he didn't care if Ryuuji knows. The guy seemed nice, after all. And, what was the big deal, anyway?
no subject
"It's possible...A lot of people come at random."
That he won't deny.
no subject
"Heh, that's definitely gonna take some getting used to...At least back in the last world, there was a set day each month, for the most part..."
In Genessia, he'll never have a set pattern to get used to. It was a little unsettling...
"Do you...think...it'd make me a bad person to pick between them...Takasu?" The question slipped out before he could stop it, but that was something weighing on his mind, before...
