[Jade had been busy for the past month, as he was trying to make ends meet. With his and Luke's combined starter money, that should cover the inn's expenses during their stay in Fayren, but for now, Jade never ask Luke to work with him as an assistant unless he needs help with his come and go assignments as a bounty hunter. For now, their combined money is in the okay goldilocks zone, but they have to be slightly frugal. Being a bounty hunter isn't exactly an easy job as it's a case by case basis depending where it's available in which city, and he travels city from city, and then rest for days in Fayren before he's off again.
So far, from Jade's point of view, there's 2 people from his world, Luke and Arietta. And Arietta is pretty much out of their radar due to circumstances of events from their world that turned them into enemies under a peace truce, so he hardly seen her around as well.
It's only this morning that he noticed there's a tingling and numbing in his hands. It comes and goes, and he was able to feel hot and cold sensation, but at a lesser degree. He started to take notice when he couldn't feel cold water at the max, and very hot scalding coffee, when he drank it.
When he checked the network, it seems he's not the only one. Perhaps, he should ask around.]

Hello, Jade Curtiss here. It has been a while. This is becoming worrisome, but I think I lost sensation in my hands and feet. I discovered it when I couldn't feel the cold or hot water by the sink or when I drink my coffee, I scalded my poor tongue, but it didn't felt hot.
I wonder how did that happened? Did anybody else felt the same way that I do?

It isn't just you. I believe that many are losing their senses, though sight and touch appear to be the most common so far. [Or at least the easiest ones noticed.] Are you alright?
[It might be hard to answer that question if he can't feel.]
I'd be happy to come and help if you need it. I'm not- that sort of doctor but I should be able to do something and examining more people might help us find the cause. [She's a researcher but she's going to keep trying to help.]
Video
I noticed that in the other people's posts on the networks. So far, reports of people loosing sensation or having blindness seems to be on the rise.
I'm in Fayren, so I'm not sure which city you're in to help due to the travel distance. If this gets bad, I''ll just have to find a healer or doctor as soon as possible.
Video
Where have you been in the last few days? Anything out of your daily routine?
[Alice is looking for a common thread among these cases.]
Video
I haven't noticed anything out of the unusual. [And even though the normal residents in Attleton were affected, it was much too early to noticed any effect of the disease a few days ago, as the disease is slow to show symptoms.] I'm not showing symptoms of food poisoning.
Video
[Alice's fingers lightly push her dark hair behind her ear as she begins to write down notes. That at leasts rules out Nova City and considering she spends most of her time in Genessia that city is also out.]
Would you like me to come and lend you a hand? At the very least I can tell you if you need a doctor and take you there.
[She would like to help if she can.]
Video
If you come over, which is nice of you, I would like Luke to be examined first.
[After all, the health of children should always come first.]
Video
[A smile touches Alice's lips.]
That's very good of you. Has Luke expressed difficulties with anything as of yet? [She begins to gather up a few items and slip them into her bag. She's learning more from working with Charles but she hopes it's enough to help now.]
Can you send me your address?
Video
Luke reported he is loosing his vision. How peculiar. His vision tends to be normal.
Oh we are currently staying in this inn in Fayren. Here's the address.
[He sent the address. It's pretty well-known inn in the area for temporary residence.]
Video
I'll be there soon can you please ask him where he's gone in the last few days?
[She grabs her bags and heads towards the door hoping that she might be able to help. The number of children effected has her very worried.]
Video
[Jade feels the same, as he noticed those posts on the network.]
Video
I'll be there soon.
[ooc: take to action?]
Video -> Action
[Jade left his device on, so they can keep on talking.]
You can join us for lunch, the inn served food if Fayren cuisine is to your liking. By the way, I didn't catch your name. You seem to be in a hurry, but I'm glad for your assistance.
Video -> Action
[She frowns slightly and shakes her head.]
I don't want to impose though I admit I don't know what food they have in Fayren.
Video -> Action
No, you're not imposing! A while back, I met a follow professor who ask me to compare the energy of my world to his world, concerning how atoms form the energy behind the spells I make. I'm a mage, you see, to put it in simpler terms.
[Anyway, should Alice arrived in the Inn, Jade is in the dining hall part of the building where people eat and dine at the tables and he is waiting at one of the tables.]
Video
Jade....I think something's wrong as well. My vision has been getting worse the past few days.
Video
So I heard from the other people on the network who becomes increasingly blind or loosing their sense of touch.
[Jade looks worried.]
Luke, you too?
no subject
Where are you right now?
[Not being able to see well was a bit unsettling considering the work they did and he'd rather be with Jade right now. Yes they had traveled together but he'd also go off on his own sometimes]
no subject
[Jade has difficulty finding his money or picking up food since his feeling in his hands become tingly or numb, his hands are affected more so than his feet, but who knows if the sudden diseases will affect his legs too.]
Are you still at the inn? Stay there for a bit. If this gets worse, we may have to visit the doctor.
no subject
Okay, hopefully this isn't something that's spreading to everyone...
no subject
Luke, I would like you to keep checking your phone. Maybe somebody will report a good doctor that can help or information concerning the disease.
I'll be coming to the inn now. I still able to make lunch.
no subject
no subject
I'm right here, Luke. I'm not sure if I can make lunch today because my hands are numb. It would be dangerous for me to handle a knife, don't you think? I don't want to loose any fingers in your sandwhich.
[Jade and his morbid sense of humor.]
We'll just have to spend a bit to eat in the dining hall downstairs.
no subject
I'd probably lose a finger or two with not being able to see it properly. I can pay for the food though.
[For now he'd try and keep calm but eventually if his sight got worse that calmness would start to break.
no subject
Yes, that's right. Not fine being blind.
[Though if this happened during their travels, at this rate, Jade has to find a better job and stopped traveling around so much.]
Well, let's go downstairs and eat. If you can't see anything, I shall carry you down like a delicate princess.
[Despite their condition, Jade still joking around with his trademark sarcasm.]

Might be connected.
video;
I hope you're not badly afflicted yourself, Mr...?
video;
Nagisa. But no not affected at all, thankfully.
Video
Oh, I'm Ted, by the way. Pleasure to meet you.
Video
Yes, it seems so. I would like to think it's a work-related accident, but then I noticed some of the residents seem to be afflicted, so I ruled that out.
Poetic? I'm not a man of literature, I'm afraid. And I would like to think sensitivity is always a part of my nature~.
Re: Video
Heh, seems you'd like to think a good deal. What sort of accidents come up in your vocation, anyway? If only we could find some sort of 'ground zero' for this mysterious malady. Alas, the victims are too diverse for any origin I can discover.
Video
I haven't been in any sort of accidents. The disease started to happen yesterday when I came back from several towns and arrived in Fayren. But ah, the last city...is Attleton, but I was by the border.
Though having the disease and suffer from it myself, I may have to change my current vocation soon. It's not easy being 40 years old. This mortal coil of mine have met it's limits.
Re: Video
"Ahh..." [He's cautiously optimistic about mages. Hopefully this one isn't the devil-worshipping variety.] "Well, you have my thanks for that. I dabble in that myself, so that could be it. Then again, many aren't bounty hunters at all, so perhaps not...
Darn, sounds like you've been all over the world too as I have. If only we could find a homebody and could narrow it down that way.
Haha, forty? Do people die so young in your world? You look like a man, even with the long hair. You must still have a good thirty years in you. Unless...does sorcery tax the body unduly?"
Video
No, but I make it a habit to make sure young people don't grow too fast either. And I am quite male. A very brutish male. Though perhaps, should I die and reborn again, I might be a delicate female next time~.
Hmm, I wouldn't call it sorcery from where I'm from. A better word for it, is fonists. Fon is something akin to an atom. Whenever I chant my spells, I gathered all the elemental particles of fons around me into my body, and when I accumulate enough fons, then I can use it in my spells using the appropriate element like fire fons for fire-type spells and like water fons for water-type spells.
As for your question...yes, in my world, if you use too much fons, it will tax greatly on the body. Incorrect use can lead to possible risk for death.
Re: Video
Hah, brutish? So eloquent and bespectacled? You're a man who defies appearances, apparently.
Huh! So a sort of...applied, internal science. That's more innocent than the ones I've known. [And he's less on edge for it.] I hope my other mage friends know what they're doing, lest they also grow straight into the grave. I take it you've been making out all right then, setting about with good deeds and justice so soon?
Video
[And he sound so amused, despite his condition.]
I am considered a scientist in my world, actually. So yes, a sort of internal applied science to the sorcery I do. But then my calling is to serve my Emperor as a military man to keep justice and order in his kingdom to keep the peace.
Re: Video
Ah, that explains. Many have so explained sorcery--er, fon...istry, to me in terms of technology. Not sure whether to be delighted or disappointed it's not as spiritual a matter as I've known. Not that I touch the stuff, mind. Except magically imbued objects but that hardly counts. [Right?]
Ah, a liege of the king. How noble! Any interesting stories from the job, or was it all top secret?
Video
[Yep, even a soldier can feel the stress. And Jade is pretty morbid, but he's rational and truthful of the situation.]
Re: Video
"Ah." [Talking did get pretty laborious with a mouth like that, but Ted nobly pursued in spite of the setback. He couldn't empathize with that particular circumstance.]
"So you've a neighbor in worse condition. My condolences. I know some healers, though their mysticism is more mystic, if you trust that. But it seems they're either impotent or held up somehow. Something will turn up; solutions aren't far from their problems in Genessia, at least not the novel ones."
Video
[That's all right, empathy isn't our best suit.]
"I do envy the healers at times. I wonder how they possess the power to heal broken bones and skin? I wasn't born with healing magic. My art is mastering and wielding the elements at my disposal. But yes, I'll make a note to drop and check in their services to see if they are of any use."
Re: Video
Heh, I suppose, though they must bear witness to all kinds of gruesome things. It's a wondrous contrast; they're usually so kind and delicate, yet their eyes behold such violence. Maybe the former gives strength for the latter; I wonder if sensitivity isn't the backbone for a kind of strength.
Well, I suppose I ought to leave your neighbor to your care, then. I'll let you know if there's any headway made on this strange ailment.
