[Jade had been busy for the past month, as he was trying to make ends meet. With his and Luke's combined starter money, that should cover the inn's expenses during their stay in Fayren, but for now, Jade never ask Luke to work with him as an assistant unless he needs help with his come and go assignments as a bounty hunter. For now, their combined money is in the okay goldilocks zone, but they have to be slightly frugal. Being a bounty hunter isn't exactly an easy job as it's a case by case basis depending where it's available in which city, and he travels city from city, and then rest for days in Fayren before he's off again.

So far, from Jade's point of view, there's 2 people from his world, Luke and Arietta. And Arietta is pretty much out of their radar due to circumstances of events from their world that turned them into enemies under a peace truce, so he hardly seen her around as well.

It's only this morning that he noticed there's a tingling and numbing in his hands. It comes and goes, and he was able to feel hot and cold sensation, but at a lesser degree. He started to take notice when he couldn't feel cold water at the max, and very hot scalding coffee, when he drank it.

When he checked the network, it seems he's not the only one. Perhaps, he should ask around.]

Video/public

Hello, Jade Curtiss here. It has been a while. This is becoming worrisome, but I think I lost sensation in my hands and feet. I discovered it when I couldn't feel the cold or hot water by the sink or when I drink my coffee, I scalded my poor tongue, but it didn't felt hot.

I wonder how did that happened? Did anybody else felt the same way that I do?

[Chiaki was very carefully adjust her outfit. Sure it wasn't fully correct quite yet, but she was slowly working on it She thought it would be fun to do something like this while exploring. Make it feel like a real adventure. Though as she turned around looking in the mirror at the back, she wondered if the others would actually go for it. She didn't mind if it was just her since they didn't seem to recall anything from school, but that made her more determined to make memories, new memories for them. It hadn't been long after that and attempting to cook something before she was holding the device firmly in her hands, there was still something she needed to do before she actually told the others, so she switched on, a sweet smile on her face.]

I was planning a fun little trip to Fayren for me a couple of my friends. But the more I looked the more I was uncertain, so... I wanted to ask people who have been here longer what are the most interesting places in Fayren to go to?

[She bows her head slightly as a way of saying thanks before pausing for a moment. She figured she should say something about something that had happened before.]

Um... Also... If someone were to get burnt due to not realizing thier hand was on something hot... Do they just run it under water or go to the hospital?

[Action in Genessia and toward the hospital]

[Chiaki was planning on going to the hospital, her hand was red and raw and yet she couldn't even feel how bad it was. It was strange to not feel something like that. Fire was hot. Fire would normally hurt someone, but this time... She didn't. It was worrying, but she was walking through the streets of Genessia, her hand kept close to herself as she tried to figure out the way to the hospital.

Even if she did look a little lost.]

[Private to Nagito]

[With her hand sorted and bandaged she was planning on continuing what she was doing. She wasn't going to let it get to her. So first stop was messaging Komaeda first. At least with Ibuki she knew where she lived.]

I hope you are still okay with coming to Fayren? I've been making the plans and should be finished by the end of the week, if not sooner if you want to do it sooner.

[She just needed to just do a couple more things, but she thought she would ask something else.]

Ah, I should ask if you are okay? [With her lack of feeling in her hands, she was worried that something was going on. Because seriously, how does one not feel when there hand is on a stove of all things.]

[Action to Ibuki]

[She didn't know where one friend lived, but she knew full well where the other was. So making her way she was just going to drop on in and check on her, talk to her and perhaps get a question answered if possible. Pulling up her video game hoodie styled after a giant yellow thing that eats dots she had gone to the door, lightly knocking in the hopes the other was in.]

[Frankly it's a miracle Badou even managed to find the video function in his current state. He's certainly not looking at the screen, though he is at least positioned so that there's a shadow of movement over the screen that's probably his.

Especially as it seems to be trying to light the seemingly ever-present cigarette at his lips. He even succeeds, if the sounds of the first drag of a fresh smoke are to be believed - at least there's something he doesn't need to see to be able to do.

He's not sure this is a smart idea at all, if he's honest. Screams highlighting his weakness and he's not a fan of that. But he's not sure how long this is going to last either and, well, he's never been one to suffer in silence.]

A'ight. Guess I gotta bit the bullet, swallow my pride an' all of that. Anyone up for bein' a seeing-eye person for a bit? Don't have a whole lot right now but I specialise in being dragged into crazy shit I'd be better off left out of. But I'm down one working eye right now an' that's a bit of a problem.

[He does manage to shift then...and almost fall off the sofa, from the swearing that follows...until there's an off-centre shot of him tapping the eyepatch over his right eye.]

Because I only got one workin' at the best of times and this brings me to a resounding zero. Hell, don't even have to be a long-term thing. Just sick as shit of not bein' able to eat something without stabbing myself or getting shit all over myself and I don't even wanna think what state the counters are in right now.

[And...well. He hasn't wanted to suggest this because he's sick of hospitals and this suggestion might lead to more. But.]

An' maybe someone who knows more about this shit than I do and can tell me how the fuck this happened. Other than it being my shitty luck to go completely blind for no apparent reason.

[Alice regards the phone seriously as it flicks on. Her dark eyes are bright and inquisitive and when she speaks it’s with a noticeable English accent.]

If it isn't too much trouble, I'd ask what everyone does around here, both for work but also for fun. [She isn't used to having free time.] I am more accustoming to active past times though I do love to read and draw when I can. I thought of exploring but I've heard that it might not be safe more so close to the barriers. I don't know if this is true or not but I tend to air on the side of caution. [She says that but it isn't true. She'll most likely find herself out and exploring and putting herself in harms way anyway.]

I might take up a position as a researcher or a professor though it might be worth trying something new as well. [She has a little bit of time to decide.] Any and all thoughts are welcome.

Thank you for your time.

action; genessia; outside the bay

[Fet casts an impressive shadow in the late summer sun, standing before Weiss' hologram, watching with interest as she speaks. Much like an attentive student during a lecture, he references the materials he was provided, fingers the pendant draped around his neck at it's mention, and looks toward the sky when the barrier is brought up. As the hologram continues its explanation, he reaches into one of the many pockets in his vest and withdraws a cigarillo, lighting it and holding it between his teeth for a moment before taking a drag and holding the flavorful smoke in his mouth for a second before releasing it slowly.

His jaw muscle works thoughtfully as the hologram finishes, and he brings the cigarillo to his lips again, taking a slower pull from the wrapped tobacco and releasing it with an exhaled sigh.
]

...Is that right?

[His voice is heavily accented, something Eastern European, and he works his jaw thoughtfully again before he reaches into the pocket of his coat, much too warm for this weather, and pulls out the device he was left in the box, just like everyone else, looking down at it thoughtfully before tucking it back into his pocket.]

Kidnapped then, is it?

[A lot of the message is lost of Fet, though he assumes he'll come to understand it in time. He's more concerned about understanding who else might be here than figuring out where here is exactly, at least for the moment. He thought vampires overrunning the city was a big deal. This just made his life a lot more complicated.]

video;

[Fet takes the phone back out of his pocket and turns it on. The interface is fairly intuitive, and starting the video transmission is pretty self-explanatory. He holds the phone up, greeting the network with a friendly smile. While his words are thickly accented, his command of the English language isn't in question.]

Hello, everyone. Or is it fellow captives? I don't know what to call the lot of us. Anyway, I'm Fet. Looks like I just got in off the boat.

[He begins to walk in the direction the documentation indicated toward the offered housing. A place to sleep is a good place to secure first, after all.]

I don't remember buying a ticket, but the vacation's nice. [He smirks.] Anybody know if it's paid, 'sides the cash they left with the phone, I mean. [And he shakes his head slightly.] Also, what can be said of this place, eh? I know what the welcome message said, and the pamphlet, but the best way to get to know a place is to ask the locals. I don't really care about what's outside the barrier, or any of that. Not yet. Just would like to know what a newbie should know.

[And he flashes the camera a charming smile.]

Thanks for listening.

[ Video. ]

[ There is a man. His eyes are as blue as the cloud-riddled sky struck down by the blazing sun without its shields to protect it and his hair the darkest night, the white streak at the front the piercing moon through the shadows. He was close. Very close. Glaring even into the screen before he begins to shake it viciously with a throaty growl-- ]

Hey! Hey! I know someone's listening! Whoever took my guns is gonna; get so much lead rammed up their ass they'll be permanently squatting! Do you hear me!?

[ .... Though as charming as his features were, his attitude certainly wasn't. The way he was comically flaring his nostrils and huffing was behavior akin to a childs and he trembled with a sort of uncertain emotion before he forces himself to breathe through his mouth. Calm down, buddy. Its going to be ok.

... Its just the last time he woke up somewhere suddenly he was in his own grave, having to claw his way through wood and dirt just to breathe again. The memories made him want to hurt, not himself, but his mind sprang quickly to the idea of gunning down every last mother fucker who dragged him to this imaginary paradise. Breathe, Jason, breathe. He puts on a sweet, charming smile all of a sudden and curls his fingers against his chin, camera in the other hand.
]

... Ok, ok. I overreacted. Sorry. Does anyone know where all my weaponry is? Or my house? If you do I'll be more than happy to converse with you. I'm not armed, as you know. I also might be bleeding somewhere SO, if anyone is a medic or some shit... hit me up, ok? I promise, I'm not the sort of guy who's gonna' kiddy-fiddle you while you work.

[ A pause before he clicks his fingers, ]

By the way, I have no idea where I am because I didn't listen to the virtual person so. By the beginning, if that helps. Thanks.

[ ... Well done. The camera feed flickers as he sighs, sitting down on the ground just outside the area one would arrive in by the magazine stand, just sort of sitting there with his hands in front of him like a lost puppy. You wouldn't think he was a serial murder, vigilante, terrorist and crime lord just by looking at him, not that you would be looking solely at his appearance... when in his side a deep red mark was growing wider and wider. Assistance... would be fabulous! ]

[ Action. ]

[ .... There's a large man on the floor with a worrying red stain that seemed to be extending to the floor below him. He looked calm enough, but the fact he was a man just sitting there calmly as a wound was spurting was sort of worrying. Magic and the universe... worked differently on his body than it would anyone else; there was an energy tied to him physically that made situations like this sort of weird. His first guess was that people probably came to this 'paradise' in a dream-like state of lovely-ness. Of course, not him. ]

Aw, fuck. [ His hand is pressed lightly against his side with a wince... he isn't talking to anyone when he begins to speak next. ] Had to be at the worst time. Other worlds and all this mysterious crap. God... I gotta' be dreaming.

[ Feel free to approach! Hes harmless. Sorta'. ]

[The video starts awkwardly, as if someone hit it by accident and didn't know it was running. It showed a young pale boy in all white that looked very much like elaborate priest garb. Of course that would be because it was. Though he was small he was definitely dressed like the Pope, hat and all. He looked distressed as he glanced around the bay and then sat down near the hologram welcome message unsure of what else to do.

What was going on? He didn't understand. He woke up in some sort of coffin, and then a hologram was talking. But... where was he exactly? He was even given some sort of device, but he wasn't exactly sure how it worked. It looked like an ancient relic, but he didn't really know much about those himself.
]

I wish S-Sister was here....

[Caterina would know, she would know what to do too. Alessandro however did not. Was he kidnapped again? Was his life in danger again? But no one was here... it was just him, alone....]

What d-do I d-do...?

[It was then that he finally looked down at the device and noticed a blinking.]

Eh?

Ah! H-hello? Can anyone h-here me? I-is this working? H-help... I... I d-don't know where I am.... I d-don't understand what's h-happening.

ACTION

[Alice remembers the plane ride taking her from Romania to England. She’d just been offered a job at The Imperial College in London and had eagerly accepted the prestigious position. She remembers talking to her sister the day before and hearing the excitement in the older woman’s voice. Alice had assured her several times that she wouldn’t have time to visit; the previous professor had disappeared unexpectedly leaving the college in a tizzy.

She remembers drifting off to sleep and when she awoke she wasn’t on the plane at all. Her thick lashes dot with moisture while dark almond eyes peer up at the cave ceiling. It takes a moment for the shock to ebb and for her thoughts to begin racing.]
Curious. [She whispers the word softly, testing the strength and volume of her voice. She doesn’t know where she is and hidden beneath the seemingly calm awakening she’s frightened.

Alice shifts and the mysterious box digs into her side. Wide eyes stare at it before she slowly begins to riffle through the items. She has her purse which contains her most recent field journal and a few others miscellaneous items. It isn’t much but it’s convenient for stowing the contents of the box. Steeling her nerves she wades across the small pool of water and heads towards the exit of the bay.]

At least the sun shines here.

[Thank heavens for small favors.]

VIDEO

[Alice first reads the pamphlets, the map and the other provided information. She enjoys the Hologram even though it doesn’t delve into excruciating detail. She assumes that it is worded in such a way that it doesn’t need to be updated daily. While the situation demands answers some questions are best to answer first and the hologram and pamphlets do that well enough.

She hopes it’s safe here though she knows that terms and phrases are relative to an individual’s biases of comparison. She can only hope and that she does very well.

When she flicks on the screen she’s standing outside in the sun. Dark hair falls in waves over her shoulders and while there is a light smile on her lips there is a worried shadow in her eyes. She can’t help but find this situation unsettling.]

Excuse me, [Her words and voice are smooth, her accent indicative of southern England but fading due to her travels around the globe. She doesn’t know who she’s addressing and she’d rather be polite until she has a fuller grasp on the situation at hand.] My name is Alice Colwin, professor or doctor if you prefer formalities. Like many of you I find myself quite suddenly waking up here. I don’t have any questions at this time but I would like to meet those who’ve found themselves here.

MORE ACTION

[Alice is wearing the outfit she often wore when she was working out in the field. Her shirt is a dark tight sleeveless top made with a nice durable fabric. She has a loved brown leather jacket pulled over her shoulders and a pair of sturdy tight jeans. Her boots are dark brown and while they have a slight heel they’re meant for work. As she steps through the city she shrugs off her jacket and drapes it over her purse. As time lingers and draws onward her worry fades and in its place advances a persistent curiosity.

She can’t help but be curious. Her father had once said that the trait was rooted in the name Alice, and as such, unavoidable. Curiosity is the only true way to discovery. Her questions vary from person to person but there is one that she aims to ask a few passersby.]

Have you seen a white rabbit in a petticoat?

[She can’t help herself.]
