Event Log (Finding the Cure)
Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!
Or at least it used to be.
Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.
Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.
The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!
OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!
Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.
If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.

As Abel's car reached the top, the trap door popped open. She double-timed over to it and made her way inside.
It was relatively dark inside as the door closed behind her, but there was just enough light that her eyes adjusted quickly enough. Inside, she found a unusual structure. Was it a well of some kind? She took out her phone and dialed in Abel's number.]
--Audio--
"Abel? I'm through the hidden door. I found something that looks kind of like a well."
no subject
--Audio--
"Okay, what did you see?"
no subject
[Anastasia found some sort of contraption. It kind of looks like a rifle, but how can rifles be cute? She examines it closely. It looks relatively harmless. What will happen if she pulls the trigger?
Maybe she shouldn't.]
"Abel, I found something that looks like a rifle."
no subject
Abel is only curious? What does it do? And why such a room exist behind a trap door?
no subject
[She puts her phone down and grips the toy rifle. She gently squeezes the trigger, unleashing a stream of bubbles at the ferris wheel cars.
How delightful!]
no subject
Many bubbles were shot out, and some of them struck the carriages. One of the bubbles knocked one of the carriages with Abel inside of it, and he almost fell over in his seat. He didn't expect that to happen. The carriage swayed almost dangerously side to side.
"Princess Anastasia!" He huffed indignantly. "That isn't funny! Yaaargh!"
So perhaps that's what the rifle is for. To shoot bubbles at the ferris carts. Cruel game, but it works.
Go ahead, shoot some more! Maybe that will keep the door open permanently so the well can be unlocked and access by anyone.
no subject
Anastasia pulled the trigger again, unleashing another barrage of bouncing bubbles at the ferris wheel carts. It was kind of fun, actually!]
no subject
More shots followed! This time, her aim is better than the first swarm. They struck his carriage again he fell over, and there's a notable manly scream on her phone.
"Waaaaaaah!!!"
They must be doing it correctly, because the Ferris Wheel complete it's cycle when it reached down again, and then it goes back up to the top, the trap door stayed open!
no subject
Anastasia left the bubble gun alone and went to the entrance to the room she was in to find the ferris wheel completed its cycle, and she wasn't trapped inside.]
"Abel? Is that you?"
no subject
"Yes, that's me."
Anastasia must wait outside a bit. When the Ferris Wheel completes the cycle again, Abel slowly walked out of the carriage and dust himself off.
"By the way, I believe you can drink the water from the well. The mayor said the water is sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation, and the cure will become less effective. So have that drink, and let's close the door. I'll mark this spot in my mind and on my phone, so we can tell everyone we found one."
no subject
"What about you? Were you not cursed as well?"
no subject
[/// Okay, priest is embarrassed that he forget himself.]
"Oh that's right. I forget myself. Yes, I shall have a drink too."
Going over to the well.
"You drink first. You did it."
no subject
She shudders intensely. Not a very pleasant taste at all.
Within moments, she could feel a slight tingle in her hands. However, she still couldn't feel much else.]
no subject
Abel leaned over the edge of the stone rimmed well, scooped up some water in the cup of his hand to drink.
Well, not a pleasant taste. Have some slight bitterness to it, with a slight floral scent. Must be the medicine in the well.
He does feel his breathing and taste lighten up somewhat.
"Okay, did you drink enough?"
no subject
[Anastasia steps away from the well, not really eager to try to drink more.]
no subject
"I think so too. Still, let's protect this one."
[He drank to his fill, but like her, he...doesn't drink anymore either. He hoped the water sits well in his stomach. He'll wait until Anastasia walked out of the room, and he followed suit.
Once the both of them are completely out, Abel pushed the trapped door down, thereby closed the room and shut it to protect the well from being exposed to the sun.]
"Shall we go find more wells?"
no subject
"Yes, let's go find more."
no subject
Oh?
[He curtsied back as well. He's starting to learn some royal etiquette.]
A job well done, but this is far from over. Yes, let's go search some more. For the town and everyone's sake.
