Event Log (Finding the Cure)
Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!
Or at least it used to be.
Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.
Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.
The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!
OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!
Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.
If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.

"If you come at me again," she told it, just in case it could hear and understand her, "I'm snapping you in half. Got it?"
Her voice echoed in the building, too loud. A little of the old harshness had crept back in with all of her almost-shouting. She couldn't hear it, but she could feel it, like sand in the back of her throat as old damage resurfaced.
Alley turned her back on the donkey, trailing after Cole and peering into the room he was inspecting. Her flashlight caught the three animatronics on the stage and she sneered, reaching for her mace.

He looked over at Alley briefly before creeping closer to the stage.

They weren't moving, still, so he turned to Alley and waved. All clear! For now.

She climbed up onto the stage to slowly circle the three... things, flashlight trained on them from her bar-arm and crackling mace held at the ready. Why would anyone even make these things? She also gave one a poke, to the back of the head with the end of her mace, her eyes narrow with suspicion.
"This place reeks of 'trap'."

Moving to the edge of the stage, he peered around, looking for more than just this. There was a door leading behind the stage. It was a start. He waved again to get Alley's attention and pointed to it.

When she stood back up, it was to grab one of the animatronics by the shoulder and wrench it backwards, kicking the back of its knee as she did so. Once it was toppled, she moved on to the next.
"There's no way these things could get up silently, if they decide to move later. You'd hear them." Down another one came crashing! "I don't trust this shit. Torch the whole place if we didn't need it..."
no subject
Nothing came out of the door. Peering inside, he saw a lot of lights on poles, supplies, bits of costumes, chair. A storeroom? There was another door, it looked like it lead onto the stage itself.
Seeing no danger, he moved inside slowly.

It landed on another boar animatronic, slumped on the ground against the wall. This one was all torn up and mangled, and stained with red.
"Well... shit."

She prodded open its mouth with the tip of her mace, lips curling back in another sneer as she found a second face inside. A machine face, but definitely a face.
no subject
He jabbed at it. It did nothing.

"Maker's balls," she swore instead. She'd stopped swearing by the Creators a long time ago... though she didn't believe in the Maker, it was a convenient icon to swear with.
On Thedas, these things would definitely be possessed. She wasn't convinced they weren't here, too.
Alley stood up, and gave the thing another nudge with her boot, this time hard enough to topple it onto its side. That didn't help the smell.
"There's still an upstairs to search. I'll go out first, in case our other... friends... are moving," like the donkey, or worse. She headed for the door, shield ready.

A glance at the stage didn't help the uneasiness he felt. Those things must be a lot stealthier than they assumed. Wherever they were, they weren't where they left them.
no subject
"...I should have ripped their fucking legs off," she finished in the common tongue with a growl.

"We're out of here," she decided. "Stealth for the door out; I'll be right behind you with my guard up."
no subject
He threw a handful of black powder at his feet and vanished in the smoke it created. That done, he loped for the door, making sure to keep Alley in view.

She pointed her mace at the donkey as she passed, a silent warning. And then they were outside again, the place's door shut firmly behind them.

- Let's find somewhere safe. I don't like that place. -

And off they went.
