Event Log (Finding the Cure)
Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!
Or at least it used to be.
Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.
Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.
The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!
OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!
Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.
If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.

It looked ready to fall apart. He definitely didn't trust it with his weight. And what if someone got to the top and then it got stuck?
He wasn't going to be quick to volunteer to take a ride. However, he wasn't planning on shoving Jade on it, either. He glanced around, walking over to the side at his usual leisurely pace, and hefted up a rock with two hands.
"Wh-What if we put this... this on it, instead?"
no subject
Sheesh, what a nervous kid. Jade has no patience for those types at time. When the ferris wheel stops, Jade climbed up to the platform, opened the door to the carriage of the wheel to step inside.
"If anything happens to me, tell a boy name Luke that I'm gone. He's a kid with red hair and he lives in Fayren."
no subject
"A-Are you sure? We... We can try to find a-another way."
Maybe Jade was willing to brave it, but if he was advising him of what to do upon accidental death it didn't seem worth it to take the risk.
"M-Maybe we could find something... something heavier."
He didn't make any moves to physically restrain Jade, but he stayed back.
no subject
Jade had no fear, considering he's a soldier and he's no stranger to death.
"Oh calm down, Bracken. I'm sure it'll be all right." Of course, anything he'll say won't reassure the kid.
So Jade entered the carriage, closed the door with a click, and his carriage slowly goes up, up...
It wasn't until his carriage hit the top, that a trap door under carriage opens. Did Bracken caught that?
no subject
Considering that, he cast his spell of protection with a soft, twirling light, and then very cautiously raised some earth around the trap door. If something was going to fall, it would have to hit that, first.
Then he crept through, slipping between the raised mounds of earth and climbing through the trap door.
Down there he lit a fire and started looking around. There was some sort of game room - which seemed like it was a horrible place to have a game room - but more importantly he noticed a well. So, he walked over to it and started pulling up water from it.

He also have a good view of the park, which is dark and grey. Some of the buildings down below has no light, and some do, meaning that part is still function.
Slowly, as the carriage made it's slow descend, Jade emerge just fine. He exit the carriage, looking for Bracken.
"Bracken?" He called out for him.
no subject
"O-Over here. The well is here."
At that, he lifted a flame in his hand.
no subject
"Looks like you found it!" Jade said, pleased. One well's location is discovered. Jade went inside to have a drink from the well. The water is a bit on the bitter side, but there is still that glow from the water's depth, so it wasn't diminished yet.
"Do be careful. The well is sensitive to sunlight and open air, so we have to close it and keep it dark when we're done." Jade said, nodding, while he inspect the well.
no subject
He had his fire, but it wasn't obscenely bright, and it was fairly dark everywhere by that time.
Strapping the thermos back to his side, he glanced around.
"I... I don't understand wh-why this would be down here."
He wasn't an architect, but it seemed like dangerous design.
no subject
Still smiling, though slightly tired.
"Do you collect enough water that you need?"
no subject
He tilted his head at Jade curiously.
"Y-You're... just drinking it?"
He was collecting it, so he'd had something to carry it in. He hadn't considered someone just drinking straight from the well.
no subject
Jade nodded. "Yes, it must be drink plain to get the flower's essence in the water for the maximum effect." Considering he's effected, he's need the water's medicine the most.
"All right, did you collect enough?" He waited for his friend to collect enough, so he can close the well to protect it from the elements of the environment that would threaten to diminished the medicine's effects.

Katze could be a little picky and finicky, though Bracken thought perhaps with some prodding he could get him to agree. He'd hoped to get around that by just making it into regular food, but it seemed that was off the table. He looked a little disappointed.
"Th-Thanks for telling me. I-It would have been s-sad if... if I took it back and th-then it was bad."
He stepped away from the well, sorting himself out and getting read to go.

As soon Bracken is finished, Jade lead him outside the trapped door.
But before he could close the door, Jade noticed the raised mounds of earth. "Ah, did you raised these rocks to use as a stopper for the trapped door?" Jade asked.
no subject
Even now, he crawled out and got away from the ferris wheel as quickly as he could. If anything were to come apart he didn't want to be there. But, once he was standing several yards away, he stopped and turned towards Jade.
"D-Do you still need more w-water?"
no subject
With a nod. "Of course. That's clever of you. No, I had enough, so please stand back."
Once Bracken is away at a good distance, Jade also stood back at a distance to get some space. A soft, glowing blue light appeared around him, a circle of glyph with strange symbols appeared, and a geyser of water appeared from the circle to erode the earth and it's soil away.
The trap door fell down with a slam! Thereby, closing the door shut! But protecting the well, as the result to protect people from misusing it.

Standing back and watching, he leaned on his staff. This magic was different than the magic on his world. He knew all the general spells, and had seen plenty of custom spells, and rarely saw anything new. He wondered why the water appeared and watched intensely.
"Wh-What spell is that?"
no subject
Turning to Bracken, with putting his hands in his pocket. He smiled because it's a job well done. "Do you know some water-type spells too?"
no subject
Though he didn't demonstrate. Maybe another time, another place.
"I... I still need more water, t-too." He glanced around, pointing in what looked like a random direction. He didn't keep things very precise, but he had an idea of where he had been and where he hadn't been. "I-I think I need to go that way."
no subject
Shifting the subject as to what they're going to do next. "So, do you have any idea where you going?" It's getting cold as it's getting dark. "It's getting dark soon. Would you need some company until it's time for you to go home? The mayor said the park is dangerous after dark."
