Event Log (Finding the Cure)
Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!
Or at least it used to be.
Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.
Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.
The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!
OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!
Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.
If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.
Cafe Royale
Shit.
He's gone through possibly hundreds of these dumb things. Occasionally he gets one that he's heard before and knows the answer to, but you have to get ten in a row and his longest streak so far is a whopping three.
So he's taking a break. He's spread out across the bar, arms hanging limp on one side, legs hanging limp on the other, dorsal fin sticking straight up in the air. Cut him up and serve him on rice, he's done.
The screen above blares its most recent question without relent:
What is big and yellow and comes in the morning, to brighten mom's day?
He's pretty sure the answer isn't "That old Butterflyfish-type Merman from down the road" because for one thing- no. For another thing? Ew no. His Ma's a tramp and that's fine, but he'll be damned if he's gonna think about her that way. Gross.
Someone please come save him.]
Re: Cafe Royale
"Namur? Oh goodness, what ailment's got you now?" A look at the TV. "Not blindness, I hope, or you'll have a time of it." He looked at the riddle, interest arrested once again.
"Do you think 'the sun' is too simple?"
no subject
"It's okay Mister Fins." She reached out to pat Namur's head. It was probably supposed to be reassuring. "Riddles are hard. I like them though. I'm really good at them. I would do them all the time with Luke and he taught me about all sorts of things."
She looked up at the screen, smiling, her entire demeanor brightening. Subtly her psychic aura seeped into Namur's mind, lifting his spirits some. "I know the answer to this one but I wont give it away if you don't want me to. I don't want to meddle too much..."
She did smile at Ted though. "And the sun would be too obvious and simple indeed. I can give a hint though. The fact that it's a mother being referenced is key."
no subject
Knowing Ted, actually, probably not. So Namur just speaks up when he finally loses his patience for waiting.
"Can't hear shit so y' wanna talk t' me y' gotta text me," he said, his voice oddly flat and louder than necessary. "Hope y'all's figurin' out the answer cuz the ones I come up with it don't like none."
The sun was certainly one of the options. So was A schoolbus, A dandelion, and An egg yolk.

Then Namur's deafness registered. He pointed to his phone before texting: I'm sorry to hear that. Not the greatest word choice; rather than take the labor of texting what he'd just said, he pointed to 'An egg yolk.'
Welcome to hell Namur: an eternity of failing simple quiz questions.

"Oh... OH! You can't hear!" saying that out loud isn't going to help Koishi.
"Mister Spades? Can you text for me? I can't text very well..." A pout... though she was quickly distracted by the words on Ted's phone.
"Ah? Nooo. No no. That's wrong too. Honestly... Think about it." A smile. "Another hint. It's not something that happens on the weekends. Can you tell Mister Fins that too?"
no subject
Koishi versus the Dumb Brigade. Sorry, sweetheart.
whoops thought I did this
"Pedestrian observation and common understanding will avail more than pedantry. Let's remember whom this game was made for."
no subject
She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, wrapped piece of taffy, poking Namur gently and offering it to him. "Here. This is for you. I know you can't hear me but sis made it. And it's really delicious."
And then she glanced back at Ted, all smiles. "Are there any more riddles? I like them a lot. Even if I don't really know that much all the time."
no subject
GREEN FLASHING SCREEN HOLY HELL they got it right!
In answer to Koishi's question, another riddle appears immediately, with a 1/10 up in the corner. What is harder to catch the faster you run?, the screen says. Possible answers are The dog; Your breath; A cold; The bus.
Namur's so damn happy they got just the one right, he takes the candy Koishi offered and pops it in his mouth without even complaining about it being the burned offal of a dead plant. He swallows it in one gulp- wrapper and all.
"What's with this place an' buses? Shit." Namur presses a button and highlights that answer- it worked the last time, after all!- but looks back at Koishi and Ted before pressing enter.
