Event Log (Finding the Cure)

Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!

Or at least it used to be.

Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.

Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.

The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!

OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!

Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.

If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.

Alice was about the only person there I liked, actually. [ She was also among very few people from his past that he wished he could see again, but he wouldn't dare to hope she would show up in Genessia. He liked to think she was happy and content exactly where she was. Easier that way and all. ]

This would be so much easier if we could cheat. [ But sure. Not like he has any choice but to lead the way. ] Don't take this out of context later and use it as a reason to cheat, by the way.

Aw. [ dave has to pause to roll the jacket sleeves back up enough to peek his hands through. the sizing between them is way off. he finds a wall - but being made of hedge it isn't the most comfortable thing to blindly grab at. ow. sticks. what the fuck.

he holds a bleeding hand up ]
I'm hit. Officer down. The walls are evil, Jeff. Tryin' to kill us. We're done for. [ he grins just a little ] Dude. Do you think time travel is playing by the rules? I am a natural cheater but okay. I mean, we could probably just pull out my fucking sword and just hack our way through. Or I could climb on top and tell you the layou-- oh wait. I can't see. You can climb on top.

[ Even if Dave was making joke, the sight of blood still made him frown. It wasn't too bad, obviously, but it made him realize that he should have told Dave to keep his hands to himself. The unintentional irony in the joke about the walls wasn't lost on him. It probably wasn't one he should have considered anything close to funny but the tone of his voice gave away his amusement. ] Here, hold on. Let me take care of that. [ He pulled out a handkerchief from a back pocket and attempted to somewhat securely tie it around Dave's hand. It was too loose but that was better than too tight. ] There. If we're lucky you might survive.

I don't know. By the same logic magic isn't playing by the rules either, so... nobody plays by the rules? Except the rules of magic and the rules of time travel. So technically rules are still being followed. In other words I'm sticking by no cheating. As nice as it sounds. [ It sounded really nice. ] Ugh. Do I really have to climb it?

[ dave just holds his hand above his head until jefferson comes to take care of it. he lowers his hand and fixes the tightness of it, using his teeth and other hand. making it a little more secure. ] Thank. We may get through this horrific ordeal after all. We got a fucking medic. Hallelujah.

[ he goes back to reaching over and grabbing on to jefferson in some manner so he can lead him along. ]

You're thinking way too hard about this, dude. That being said- what the fuck are the laws of magic? I could trade of time laws, not that they're interesting in the slightest. We'll be all knowledgeable with the law. [ he shrugs ] Considering it's apparently got fucking thorns and broken edges from a lack of maintenance? No. Do not climb that shit. We won't know if something impales you. I won't see it and you ain't gonna feel it.

I'm almost positive that knowing how to apply pressure to a cut but not having the motor skills to do it isn't something that qualifies a person a medic. But you're welcome. [ Out of sheer habit he was about to apologize for his small bit of rambling, but the question got his mind going in another direction. ] There's only three. You can't bring the dead back to life, forcing someone to love you is impossible, and changing the past is a no go. All things considered the last one is kind of amusing now. Your turn. [ He involuntarily cringed. ] Yeah, I'm gonna pass on being impaled.

I'm pretty sure anyone in a group that heals the rest of the group is the medic. That's how this shit works. [ J E F F E R SON WHY WOULD YOU THINK TO APOLOGIZE FOR RAMBLING IN FRONT OF THE RAMBLE KING ]

L-M-A-O. I break all of your rules. I haven't forced someone to love me but I'm pretty sure just by existing everyone is fucking obligated to do so and I'm considering that shit broken. I'm the most loveable person in this universe right now. [ leaning his head back while they walk because he doesn't exactly have to keep looking ahead when he can't see anything. it's just the tired "when is this over?" walk. ] I'm pretty sure my rules are, like, way more complicated than yours? I'll just think of three. Uh. Okay. You can't go forwards, only one "you" can exist on a timeline at a time and if you see yourself do something then you have to do it.
