[Action]

[It was night time in Genessia and in the Bay, a new resident has woken up. This time, a middle-aged man has just woken up from his pod and right now, he was completely confused at his new surroundings.]

Huh? This isn't my lab. How did I get here?

[Sure, he didn't remember when he gone home to his lab beforehand. However, he did remember that he talked to his former lab assistant, Alain before the finals where he was about face against Ash Ketchum. After that, he remembered nothing until when he woke up, he found himself lying on a cocoon inside a cave with a box lying on his chest. While he was still confused at why he was here, he remained calm as he checked through his pockets until he found a Poke Ball, causing him to sigh in relief that his Pokemon is still with him.

Eventually, after he went through the contents of the box, he left the Bay, now wearing the necklace from the box as he read through the pamphlet to get some answers on where he was right now. If you like, you can come up behind him and either help him out or say hi (or try to scare him).]

[As the video starts, everyone can see a black-haired middle-aged, yet handsome man wearing his blue long-sleeved shirt on a screen. While he was still getting used to the fact he was "kidnapped" like the woman said in the holographic video, he remained calm as he stared right at the camera.]

Hi there. My name is Augustine Sycamore and I might need some help. I was hoping if anyone might give me a tour around the city. Don't worry, I'll try to find somewhere to stay until then. Thank you in advance.

[He was about to turn off the video when he realizes something...]

One more thing, I'm also a Pokemon Professor from the Kalos region, so do Pokemon inhabit in this city as well?

[Sure, he's in another world unaware of what it contains, but since he IS the Pokemon Professor, it can't hurt to ask.]

Hello Augustine! My name's Sonico nice to meet you. I'd be more than happy to give you a bit of a tour.

[Just as he heard that voice, he didn't flinch when he turned around and saw nobody behind him. Yet it wasn't until he looked down and saw a young boy wearing glasses beneath him.]

I think so. Did you wake up in that cave as well?

[More importantly, he wondered why a young boy like him doing here without adult supervision? He knew he was too young to be a Pokemon trainer.]

I did. More than a year ago. Everyone who shows up here wakes up that way.

[Looks like he found help and in a form of a young beautiful woman to be precise. Although no one called him by his first name before.]

Just call me Professor Sycamore and thank you. Where shall we meet?

[This just confirms that he's not the only one then. But as for the boy...]

A year ago? Won't your parents be worried you were gone for so long?

I've been told that the people at home will never notice we were gone. [The boy shrugs.] Whether that is true is another matter altogether. It would be difficult to prove it one way or the other unless someone found a way back and then returned here.

But my parents are living in a different country from me at home. It's quite possible they wouldn't notice either way.

[If what he's saying was true, then that means neither Ash, his friends, or anyone back in Lumiose City will notice his disappearance as well.

Yet he was still worried at the boy since he learned that he was living alone due to his parents in a different country. However, he was little curious at the tone of his voice when he talks, but he can't quite place it.]

What about you? Do you have anyone related or an adult to look out for you?

I'm fine. I stay in an apartment with someone I've known a while. And even if I didn't, there's a home here that kids can stay at for free.

[At least the young boy managed to find somebody to look out for him, though.]

I see. By the way, I didn't ask your name before.

Augustine Sycamore, but you can call me Professor Sycamore.

*At once, Sonico blushes and bows her head, looking horrified for her mistake*

A-ah! Of course! So sorry professor!

*She calms down and speaks more softly*

We can meet outside the Bright Sky Diner - it's really central and easy to find.

[When the feed starts, a curious looking Charizard can be seen sniffing at the camera before a mutated hand gently pushes it out of the way.]

Pokemon Professor?

[He'd been to Kalos before, shortly. He'd left some of the clones in a secluded area there once they expressed a desire to leave Lake Purity.]

May I ask what your field of research is?

P... Pockiemon?

[Though he had seen one before, he didn't really know anything about it and only knew it as something that Ted kept around. Like a weird pet.

He was very much a young man who looked like he retained some of his baby fat, with full cheeks and a generally hefty-looking physique. In person he was decently tall, too, but despite his size his demeanor instantly gave him away as someone timid and he didn't come off as threatening at all.]

Wh-Which city? E-Everglade is dangerous and... A-and I heard Attleton is d-dangerous, too... But... But Fayren is r-really nice, and pretty, and there's l-lots of trees.

[Looks like he's in luck as he not only saw a Charizard on the screen but also the legendary Pokemon, Mewtwo! Being in shock was an understatement though as Sycamore was speechless at sight of the Genetic Pokemon, not to mention that it somehow talked like that Meowth from Team Rocket.

Thankfully, it was only a small shock as he calmed down after a few seconds.]

Um... Yes... I studied on Mega Evolution in Kalos.

[Even though he calmed down doesn't mean he didn't fully recover from the shock of seeing a legendary Pokemon.]

[Judging the look of confusion the young man showed (and how he mispronounced "Pokemon"), it looks like he has lack of knowledge about it.]

No, Pokemon. Don't tell me you haven't heard of them?

[As for the young man's question, he didn't think of that before. He wanted to check out the pamphlet first before reading the map he found by the magazine stand (and the holographic message), so other than knowing that there are four other cities near Genessia from the pamphlet, he didn't know more about them.]

Actually, I was talking about the city I'm in right now.

[Though he might take his word for it. Besides, it's too dark to even travel to those cities right now.]

[It probably didn't help that the Charizard that was still hovering around Mewtwo - not to mention the Venusaur napping in the background - had very uncharacteristic markings covering their bodies.]

Mega Evolution? I have not heard of such a concept. What is it?

[He was surprised that a legendary Pokemon didn't hear about Mega Evolution. Even if it is weird, he might as well explain it.]

Well, it's said to be an evolution that surpassed the limits of any regular evolution we know. However, a strong bond between a Pokemon and its trainer is needed to unlock Mega Evolution as well two special stones.

[His shock came back once more when he saw the Venasaur behind Mewtwo. However, he finds it strange that the Seed Pokemon had some strange markings around it. This made him wonder about how these Pokemon got in Genessia.]

By the way, did you woke up in the cave along with those Pokemon as well?

[A young girl appears on the screen, with a Sylveon occasionally appearing on screen as well.]

"A pokemon professor? What does a pokemon professor do?"

[Upon he saw the Sylveon with the young girl on screen, Sycamore knew that there might be Pokemon in here after all.]

Well, Pokemon Professors are considered as experts in Pokemon as well on studying all about them. As for me, I'm currently researching on Mega Evolution. Not only that, I also hand out one of the three Pokemon to beginning trainers.

[He would have shown her the three Kalos starter Pokemon, but as of right now, Garchomp is all he has in his pocket.]

[Her eyes light up with curiosity. It could take awhile before she runs out of questions.]

"Mega evolution? Handing out Pokemon?"

That's alright. No need to be embarrassed about it.

[Thankfully when Sonico suggested meeting at Bright Sky Diner, Sycamore noticed the maps in the magazine stand nearby, which he took one of them and read the map.]

It looks like I might take a taxi for this. But I'll try to be there very soon.

Okay. I'll meet you just outside!

*Sonico was working a shift at the diner, and had to changed out of her waitressing outfit. Instead, she was wearing her denim shorts and a tshirt, a warm hoodie over the top. She stands outside holding two paper cups, waiting for the professor*

Yes, it's a mysterious phenomenon that allows some Pokemon to evolve even further as long they have a strong bond with their trainer. Most of it are still a mystery, but I do know some of the mechanics to use it.

[He did have a Key Stone with him to demonstrate, but using it outside the battle might be too dangerous, especially letting a girl see a scary-looking Pokemon like Garchomp.]

Well, you can't expect a new trainer go out on a Pokemon journey empty-handed. That's why I let them pick their first Pokemon that are fitted for a beginner.
