[Action]

[It was night time in Genessia and in the Bay, a new resident has woken up. This time, a middle-aged man has just woken up from his pod and right now, he was completely confused at his new surroundings.]

Huh? This isn't my lab. How did I get here?

[Sure, he didn't remember when he gone home to his lab beforehand. However, he did remember that he talked to his former lab assistant, Alain before the finals where he was about face against Ash Ketchum. After that, he remembered nothing until when he woke up, he found himself lying on a cocoon inside a cave with a box lying on his chest. While he was still confused at why he was here, he remained calm as he checked through his pockets until he found a Poke Ball, causing him to sigh in relief that his Pokemon is still with him.

Eventually, after he went through the contents of the box, he left the Bay, now wearing the necklace from the box as he read through the pamphlet to get some answers on where he was right now. If you like, you can come up behind him and either help him out or say hi (or try to scare him).]

[As the video starts, everyone can see a black-haired middle-aged, yet handsome man wearing his blue long-sleeved shirt on a screen. While he was still getting used to the fact he was "kidnapped" like the woman said in the holographic video, he remained calm as he stared right at the camera.]

Hi there. My name is Augustine Sycamore and I might need some help. I was hoping if anyone might give me a tour around the city. Don't worry, I'll try to find somewhere to stay until then. Thank you in advance.

[He was about to turn off the video when he realizes something...]

One more thing, I'm also a Pokemon Professor from the Kalos region, so do Pokemon inhabit in this city as well?

[Sure, he's in another world unaware of what it contains, but since he IS the Pokemon Professor, it can't hurt to ask.]

[It probably didn't help that the Charizard that was still hovering around Mewtwo - not to mention the Venusaur napping in the background - had very uncharacteristic markings covering their bodies.]

Mega Evolution? I have not heard of such a concept. What is it?

[He was surprised that a legendary Pokemon didn't hear about Mega Evolution. Even if it is weird, he might as well explain it.]

Well, it's said to be an evolution that surpassed the limits of any regular evolution we know. However, a strong bond between a Pokemon and its trainer is needed to unlock Mega Evolution as well two special stones.

[His shock came back once more when he saw the Venasaur behind Mewtwo. However, he finds it strange that the Seed Pokemon had some strange markings around it. This made him wonder about how these Pokemon got in Genessia.]

By the way, did you woke up in the cave along with those Pokemon as well?

[Mewtwo is very intrigued by this. He hadn't been able to keep up on human science in their world, being too busy hiding him and the clones he had created. Here was a different story.]

Tell me more about this process. What determines a Pokemon's ability to achieve this? Why is a bond with a trainer necessary? What are these stones you speak of?

[At the second question, however, he shakes his head.]

No. I arrived in this place in the same way you did, I'm imagining. Encased in a... pod of some sort with a box containing this device. This place... is a replica of a place in Jhoto. My sanctuary.

I can't say, but all I can say that even if you can achieve Mega Evolution, there is still a chance the Pokemon will lose control or refuse to Mega Evolve if their bond with their trainer is not strong.

[He then pulled out his Garchomp's Mega Stone and his Key Stone from his pockets so Mewtwo can see it.]

These. The one in my right is a Key Stone, held only by a trainer while the another one is a Mega Stone, a stone that a Pokemon can hold. If they have these stones, they can use them as mediums in order to activate a Mega Stone.As for how a Pokemon can achieve this, it depends on what kind of Mega Stones they discover.

Right now, I'm holding a Garchompite, which means I can only Mega Evolve my Garchomp.

[Then, he was surprised at Mewtwo's explanation at how he got here.]

That is strange. [His expression then grew serious at the last sentence the Genetic Pokemon said] And what do you mean a replica of your sanctuary?

I see. Are there genetic markers that indicate which Pokemon this form is available to?

[There's a bit of hesitation on his part. He'd gotten used to sharing his story with others from other worlds... but someone from his own was something else.]

The history I have with humans is not the best. As such, I've taken great pains to hide myself from humanity in our world, and this place allows inhabitants to open a gateway to replicas of places in our own worlds. I chose my Jhoto sanctuary, though it did come at a price.

Even if you find a Mega Stone, it might not be easy on identifying which Pokemon is compatible for Mega Evolution.

[While he knew his synchronizer would able to determine the Mega Stone, it doesn't matter considering he left it back in his lab in Lumiose City. And while he felt sorry for how Mewtwo has gone through, he became shocked to hear about the replica.]

Um... What kind of price?

But there have been no instances of Pokemon achieving this form without the aid of these stones?

[He sighs softly.]

Memories. I lost memories very precious to me, however I do feel as if those memories drove me to do it as well. It is... an odd sensation.

There is one Pokemon that can Mega Evolve without a stone, but I'm still looking into it. But other than that, I doubt other Pokemon can achieve it without these stones.

[Although he knew that Pokemon is the legendary Pokemon, Rayquaza, he was reluctant to tell this small detail to another legendary Pokemon.

As for the price Mewtwo mentioned, Sycamore was surprised that the Genetic Pokemon had to give up his memories to open the replica of his Johto sanctuary.]

Give up your memories to open that replica world? I can't believe you did that just to go back to your said sanctuary...

I see. All the more reason to redouble my efforts in training.

The choice was simple, as my well being rested on it. My diet is highly restrictive by design, and the berries native to this place were not keeping me healthy. I required berries found in our world, and the gate allowing access to Johto allowed access to those berries. It was a matter of necessity in my case.

[Now he understand why he sacrificed his memories just to return to his sanctuary. If he didn't, he can't imagine how Mewtwo able to survive in this new world.]

I see. So even the fauna in this world is different...

And what about the Pokemon with you right now?

They came with the gate. There are wild Pokemon native to Johto, but Charizard, Venusaur, and Blasoise are all... family. That, however, is a long story and one I'm not keen to tell to those I have just met.

I do not mean to be rude, but my experiences with humans in our world has been... negative at best.

I-I see...

[If that's true, he wondered if those Pokemon with him are copies like the sanctuary he's living, but he decided not to ask that as it might offend him.]

Negative? What do you mean?

[Sycamore became worried as he said this word regarding about humans.]

I am a clone of Mew, genetically altered to surpass it in power. The man who created me, a man by the name of Giovanni, ran a criminal organization known as Team Rocket in Kanto.

I was to be Giovanni's weapon, to bring the world to its knees before him. I did not take kindly to that intent.

[Sycamore's eyes widened when he not only heard of the name of the same evil team that stole his Garchomp twice but also the tragic past Mewtwo endured and the horrific secrets of Team Rocket.]

I see why your views on us are negative. I thought Team Rocket are just Pokemon thieves, but experimenting and turning you into a weapon?!

[He still retained his composure, yet his voice can't hide the shock he's experiencing right now.]

They are far more than just thieves. Team Rocket is by far the largest criminal organization in our world, with influence in every region. They have simply perfected the art of hiding their machinations from the public.

I was simply the end result of their experiments. There were... more that came before but I do not know of them, only that they were deemed failures and are no longer alive.

[Even without Mewtwo's tone, the facial expressions should be more than ample to show his disgust for all things Rocket related.]

[Sycamore has no words for this. Heck, he was completely speechless at what Team Rocket's actions and influence that created so many atrocities he can imagine. He even can't imagine what really happened to the other experiments that Mewtwo mentioned.]

I-I can't believe all of this. Experimentations, stealing... It's too much for me...

[But if what he said about Team Rocket being the largest criminal organization were true, that would mean the three members he encountered alongside Ash and his friends aren't the only members he was known.]

D-Do they have more than three members of Team Rocket other than this leader you've mentioned?

Aside from Jessie and James, I assume? While those two have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and are by far the most public members of Team Rocket, they are far from the only ones. Team Rocket has thousands of members, based primarily in Kanto and Johto.

[He makes a gesture that's somewhere between a shrug and dismissive wave.]

I believe Giovanni keeps them around specifically because they are bumbling idiots that informs everyone of their membership. It makes it easier for the true operatives to work in secret, using Jessie and James as an example of what Team Rocket is and thus distancing themselves from the organization as a whole.

That's part of why I chose to stay in Johto for the most part. So I could more easily monitor their actions and disrupt them from afar, while maintaining isolation.

[Sycamore's eyes widened when Mewtwo mentioned two of those members' names. He didn't tell him their names before unless he already met them not just once.]

I can see why you chose Johto as your sanctuary for you and the Pokemon living with you. But what if they find your location by luck or by chance?

And also, if you know the names of those Team Rocket members, I can guess you know a boy named Ash Ketchum by any chance?

[It's just a hunch, but considering he also knew the names of those Team Rocket members that always crashed into his laboratory twice (and the fact they always do their motto), he wondered if Mewtwo also know about Ash as well.]

Those that do stumble onto my sanctuary are returned to a nearby town with no memory of their encounter.

Yes. I do. That is a story best not told, however. He has no memory of our encounter and he is safer for it.

[If Ash isn't talking about the second encounter though, he's not keen on bringing it up either.]

[So he did know Ash Ketchum as well. But considered what Mewtwo told him so far, it's best not to ask more questions regarding his connection with him.]

I understand. But what about the people here in this world? I know it's a replica world, but what happens if they know about it?

[More importantly, Sycamore wondered if his memory of this meeting needed to be erased as well.]

[Mewtwo hesitates for a moment.]

I have been forthcoming with my nature and origins in this place, but the incident that brought the boy to me the first time is not my proudest moment, and I have grown considerably sense then.

It is something I do not like speaking of it.

[People here have so much power that he doesn't bother with the memory wipes here, if only because he isn't the source of power that trainers would lust after in their own world.]

[Once more, Sycamore decided not to ask even more questions regarding about his sanctuary. It would be bad if he had to break into his privacy as well know too much about his past.]

I understand. Thank you for the information, though.

[As a researcher, he would know more about Mewtwo's origins. But considering his past, he decided to better not knowing than to break his trust.]

[Good choice, Sycamore. He's cautiously optimistic about you for the moment, but pressing into his origin is one way to get him to shut down real fast.]

[As he turned off his video chat with Mewtwo, he wondered more about his origins as he was a legendary Pokemon. But due to his tragic past and his relationship with humans, he once again feel that that's one story he doesn't want to know.]
