1. Get busted out by a very rich man who wants to take down the establishment and join a gang of fellow 'inmates' to cause chaos in the city, blahblah, have lots of fun, enjoyable sex with the man's sister who is way better than the rich man, try to kill my ex-fiance's girlfriend, and ride a coma back into my cell until a mad doctor calls me sane.

Kidding! I'm going with a key since wasting my time figuring out another answer would be boring.

[ She's not kidding though and he may notice the story sounds familiar. She doesn't expect it will to anyone but hey, she's figuring she's alone here. ]

Familiar? Don't tell me you're from GC.

[ She's all for keeping anon. And if it really is familiar to him she's got an idea who he might be. No one else spouts dumb riddles like that where they're from. ]

Boohoo. :( What ever will I do?

Too bad. I thought I had room to spread my wings here.

Find me where the dead go to party if you want to talk!

[ There's a nice little riddle for him. It's probably super easy once he gets ahold of a map but whatever, she's not the quiz master here. It's better than outright stating who either of them are. The last thing she needs is that story being hooked to her name. Let's not go announcing to the world that Edward Nygma and Barbara Kean are both former patients at Arkham and both got their papers signed off on under questionable circumstances. ]

For number eight, I believe it's 'fire'?

[ Oswald had been staring at the compilation of riddles for quite a long time before he responded. To say he had been enraged at the situation he had woken up to was such an understatement that calling it an understatement didn't even feel like a strong enough word to give emphasis to just how seethingly furious he was. Not soon after the rage came the doubts, the worries, the vulnerability. Not only was there the possibility of betrayal, but that he'd finally found something resembling happiness only to have it snatched away -- he should have expected it, maybe. It seemed like happiness wasn't fit for a man like him.

But that was when he'd seen it. The post on the network. And then he started to wonder... was it possible that the person who mattered the most was there too? That he wasn't alone like he had so horribly feared? Maybe he was just seeing what he wanted to, but who else would make a post like that? Who else would make a puzzle out of a puzzle? Still, he couldn't be completely blindsided. He had to be sure. And if he was right... he was being shown ways to be sure. Uncovering the real answer was something he was still trying to desperately decode, but he didn't want to wait any longer to take some kind of action. He couldn't wait. So he would speak in his language. ]

If I'm not mistaken the correct answer to riddle number nine would be an umbrella. I admit, I had to think about it for a while. You must have a knack for these sort of things. Though, it seems a bit of a shame that you've come up with so many on your own only to be asked none in return. Mind if I try my hand at it?

If you head north you won't find, the only emperor that's not one of a kind. Who am I?

[ His breath caught in his throat the instant he read the reply. And then he read it again and again. He wrote exactly the way he spoke, and what he had said was only further proof. Being encouraging as always, even when things were so beyond them that they didn't even have a clue where to begin was so very like him. Still he was thinking about his best interests, his feelings. Oswald covered his mouth with his hand and squeezed his eyes shut, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. He couldn't stop himself from smiling. It didn't matter who saw him. It was Ed. There was no question about it.

His eyes lingered on Ed's final sentence for just a moment longer. He had to see him immediately. ]

Yes, my friend, you certainly do.

You tend to pick up an appreciation for things you don't expect when you're around someone long enough, but never mind that for just now. I think a meeting is in order.

Thank you, though that seemed more a counting affair. Say, there doesn't happen to be another riddle nested among the rest, does there? The capitalization is very queer.

[ He knew without a doubt it was selfish to be relieved that Ed was there, but relief was only part of it. He was... grateful, perhaps. Grateful that whatever unexplained force that had landed them there had somehow afforded him the fortune of allowing the only one he could unquestionably trust to soon to be at his side again. The alternative was too unpleasant to linger on. ]

You know my ears are always open to whatever you have to say. As for what else, well, I might just let you figure that out for yourself. What's another mystery or two for the pile, am I right?

[ But his smile faded off upon seeing another riddle. He hadn't been lying when he said he'd grown to appreciate them, but despite improvement due to the company he kept he still had to think about them for a while. It was something he saw as a shortcoming, and knowing that his inability to be better at solving them was actually going to hinder how quickly they could reunite was just enough to get him feeling huffy again. He wouldn't reply until he solved it, either. Maybe if he walked around instead of simply sitting around it would come to his mind sooner rather than later. ]

people overthink things a lot. the simplest answer is usually the best one.
