Sonico In The Snow~

It's Christmas time, and Genessia is full of snow - the perfect time of year for some festive activities, and keeping safe and warm.

The Bright Sky Diner is looking for more ways to keep busy on the run up to Christmas. What better way to do that than with a Sonico in a santa outfit? Looks like her job for the morning and afternoon is to smile at people passing by, handing out leaflets with coupons. During the lunch hour, there are also free mince pies! She is sure working hard at being pretty and trying to interest folks to come along to the diner. A little later in the evening, when the fairy lights are glowing on the front of the diner, it's carol singing time. Sonico, along with her colleages (especially Sakuya) and some others, will be standing outside to entertain, their warm voices making warm hearts. How adorable and Christmassy. Did I mention Sonico in a santa outfit yet?

Since the singles evening, Sonico has been pretty scarce. She doesn't seem to be as busy and out and about as usual. Instead of her usual coffee shops, Sonico is choosing to spend a lot of time in the library. She can be found there at all sorts of times of day, but especially in the evening - a flask with her, some half-empty cake boxes, and a stack of books and stationery. She's studying hard, but feel free to bother her - especially when it looks like she might have fallen asleep..

The gardens are so beautiful at this time of year in the snow. The place seems to have Christmas lights decorating some of the fences and trees. In all, it's really quite stunning. So Sonico has decided to go for a walk at night, just as the sun has set. She has learned that one of her closest friends has disappeared. Yet another one. So she will be standing forlornly staring at a half-frozen pond. Penny for her thoughts? Bonus Round - Sonico actually appears sometimes during the day. Catch her on the way to the library in the afternoon, or rushing off to work in the morning.

"Very well, I've been informed I ramble at times, I feel it's best to ask." Best to ask before someone made a comment on it.

"And I guess you're right about that. I'm not sure exactly what he thinks of me but he does appear to have good intentions, by and large." If one thought about it in the right way. "Do you have someone to help you as well?"

Trahearne followed and nabbed one of the books from the pile she held to help her put it away. This was his job after all, even if he wasn't on the clock.

"That's true, I found most people here quite welcoming." He tried to keep upbeat, maybe he shouldn't have asked that question. A 'no' wasn't a happy answer.

Trahearne nodded, his expression carefully neutral to hide his concern. He'd been more wrapped in the idea that he could vanish at any time than considering any friends he might make here could vanish just as quickly.

"That's exceptionally kind of you, I'm glad." And he was, it was good to know there were truly good people here. "I do what I can for new arrivals. It's not much, but we all do what we can don't we?"

"I know I greatly appreciate knowing there are plenty here that look out for each other." It was comforting, especially when the alternative left him feeling all the more alone. He smiled as well.

He stepped back from the bookcase and looking up, idly scanning the various titles and names to see if anything was out of place.

"It's something," he muttered.

Trahearne shook his head and looked down at her with an apologetic look.

"Nothing, sorry. I find myself easily distracted. A matter of adjustment, I guess." He pulled at the bag strap on his shoulder and looked around. It was important to know where everyone was, just in case- no, he shouldn't have to do that here. Force of habit.

"I might be more tired than I thought."

"Ah, nothing to apologize for. No, you're not holding me up or anything, though I should probably get home soon. For once I should take Tannusen's advice and get a proper night of sleep." He says that last sentence like he's being forced to do so. So annoying to have to take care of yourself! Better to work yourself to exhaustion, he thinks.

"I'm glad I got to run into your again. Maybe we can arrange a time to chat another time, when we don't have to just bump into each other." Not that he really minded that either. Generally, he was pretty reclusive.

"Sometimes, perhaps." Sleeping normally was for people who didn't have to lead a war against dragons or follow an intense compulsion to complete an impossible task. Or didn't have a tiger fae for a roommate and two needy cats.

"I could come by the diner again... Mm, or you could come by my shop some time in the next few days? I'm spending a great deal of my time there lately. I guess I don't do much else." Oh well.

"I look forward to it," he replied as he trailed afterwards. He looked to the side as he walked, eyes distant. His mind was somewhere else.

"Mm, yes, everything is okay." It wasn't strictly a lie. Trahearne moves past her to hold open the door for them both.

"I'm distracted and tired, there's no need for concern." He smiled, weakly, to try to prove his point.

"Yes, I think so. For both of us, maybe." He stepped out into the cold, seemingly unbothered by the cold despite the lack of proper shoes or warm clothes other than a jacket. It was dim enough, farther from the doors, for his yellow glow to start pulsing to life, shining faintly on the snow whenever he lifted his feet.

"I will see you soon then. I'm glad I ran into you again, Sonico."
