[video] and action in Fayren
[Zoro's holding his phone idly in one hand so that it only occasionally shows his face and his new winter coat (sheepskin, very warm and furry), sometimes the video is primarily of the leaden gray sky or a lattice of bare branches which happen to be behind his head as he leans on a railing]
Treehouses are fun and all, right up until all the leaves fall off in the autumn and then it snows for a week straight. [BIG SIGH, his breath vapor in the cold] At least Ace is like a furnace if you get up real close to him, but he drools in his sleep, so.
I wanna know what pays the best, the fastest. We need money for a ship and I ain't content with these piddly little bounties that're barely enough to keep Luffy fed for a week. I heard there was a coliseum somewhere, can you make money doing that? I got a decent price for a book from the ruins but even that seems to be tapped out now.
...and before anyone offers, if it involves wearing a uniform or being nice to people, don't even bother.
[if anyone who has fought him before (or at least heard his complaint about needing strong people to fight) wants to find him for another round, he's still in Fayren when not giving Namur's business a hand in Everglade. The pirate treehouse is easy to spot with no leaves on the trees, but he's also a fairly common figure on the streets and in the taverns, what with green hair, three swords, and no shirt on under that sheepskin coat. Because Zoro.]

Nah, it's probably not my choice anyway. Depends on who all wants to be a part of that craziness, but it's gotta have cabins with doors on 'em.
[Locked]
Not like we could keep Ace and his brother separate anyway. At least not reasonably.

Rebuilding our own version of the Moby Dick -- Pops' flagship. It'll be massive. Turn the galley into a semi-public bar, rent out the extra rooms, hopefully it'll be a bit more manageable then financially.
[He leaves out the parts about taking over territory to do all this, of course.]

We don't need anything near that big but I guess there's no sense in two crews getting ships built if one of 'em is gonna be big enough to house all of us.
no subject
Aye, my thoughts exactly. Obviously, I'll still broach it with your captain, but as you say, no sense dividing forces when the goals are the same.

...the ah, mystery lessons, not the desperation."

I could knit you a scarf, Zoro-san!
( shiemi that’s not what he’s concerned about right now. )

Yeah, it's damn cold, isn't it? It's like this in all the towns. I blew the last of my money on this coat.
That'd be nice of you, if you wanna.
no subject
Do you have a favorite color?
no subject
I guess if it stays snowy like this I'm gonna need it. Thanks, Shiemi.

On it! No problem, though, I’ve been picking up a lot of new hobbies since I’ve been out of work. So it’s no big deal. I like knitting.
no subject
Well, I guess that's cool. If it's something you like to do, might as well. I can't pay you right this instant but maybe I can get the cook to make you something. He does that.

Perhaps it is not bounty hunting, but I have heard that the Bounty Board will also have odd jobs that you could try as well, if that suits your needs a bit better. I do not know anyone who would pay you simply for fighting...
[ Thinking, thinking... ]
... I have not been able to work in a forge for quite some time, but I think until you have steady income I could offer to polish up and maintain your blades for no charge, if you need it at least. That is about all I can do right now.
Video
Bounty Board...not the people in Nova who want you to be all official before chasing bounties? [so much distaste in his tone] Don't get me wrong, I do work with Namur, but it's intermittent, and it's not a huge payout all at once.
Don't worry about my blades - I clean them myself and I don't allow them to get so much as a nick. Nice to know there's a smith around, though.
Video
Well, I thought it might be worth mentioning in case you were not aware of it. Usually other work is advertised in the newspapers if you wish to try that.
And I do try, though I do not have the means to continue practice in it right now.
All of you will be all right in this cold then?
[ She knows Luffy isn't bothered in the least by it and Ace is... Well, Ace, but this man is probably another matter entirely. ]
Video
Taverns are really warm, too.
Video
Chicken-Head?
[ Well at least she's not pestering about shelter or being a worry-wart. If only because that name is distracting. ]
Video
Video
He is truly as odd as he seems then?
Video
Video
[ Part of her can't see it, but considering how he reacted to Luffy being there... Well, she can see it at the same time. ]
I suppose I should leave you to your efforts then. If I find something that might work better for you I can let you know if you would like that?
Video
Video
[ Pausing, because it looks like something has occured to her. ]
... If I may, there is one thing I wish to ask you, about Luffy.
Video
[he can't promise an answer if it's something he doesn't know, but he'll do his best]
Video
... I understand this is quite personal, and you need not say if it is too much.
[ Okay. Deep breath. Going to ask now. Why she's getting nervous she has no idea, because the worst he can do is refuse to answer right?? ]
Just... Why did you join Luffy's crew?
Video
[not about Luffy at all, but him. And Zoro has told this story to enough people in the colony - okay, well, spirits of swords but they count as people - that telling it one more time doesn't hurt him at all.]
I had a choice. Either turn pirate and go with him, or die on the spot with my dreams still unfulfilled. I'm not afraid to die, but it would have been a pointless, shitty death, and robbed me of everything I wanted out of myself. The choice was easy.
[yeah thanks Zoro leaving out all the details of why he was being threatened with death or anything]
Video
[ She huffs a small laugh, shaking her head at the blunt answer. It's more of an answer than she's expecting at least, and Adela seems a little more relaxed when she looks up to the camera again. ]
Thank you. I suppose I have become curious as... Well, not one of the pirates I have met here is what I expected a pirate to be. I do not know if that is simply the way it is where you are from or not, and it made me question the appeal.
Luffy has told me he chose his path for the freedom it offers, and he seems quite intent on having me join you all as well. I thought I would at least ask to try and get some idea of what he was trying to get me into.
Video
[probably not the answer she was hoping for]
But don't underestimate pirates, even us. They're still dangerous. Most of 'em would slit your throat or toss you overboard just for being in their way, and if you had anything valuable to offer, it'd be even worse. Most people don't want to get tangled up in that and I don't blame them.
[he's aware that they come off differently, because their first thought isn't pillaging, but he's never really made an excuse for it - nor has he been particularly proud if people think of them as heroes instead of pirates. Zoro knows the truth.]
Video
[ Not the answer she was hoping for, but at the same time it's not unexpected. The expression she wears is a sad one then. Sad, and a little weary. ]
I can at least say I am not naive enough to believe the Straw Hats or the White Beards are even close to "normal" when it comes to pirates.
Video
The Whitebeards are different from us, too. Whitebeard was an Emperor, and the rival of Roger, the Pirate King. I don't know a lot of them well but even if they're cool guys, I can tell they've got different ways of doing things. Same with Torao [the nickname just slips out], he's as different from Luffy as night and day. I don't know anything about Bartolomeo's crew but he could be totally different in a whole 'nother way, too.
You should listen to Torao, he knows what's what.
Video
[ Because of course he's talking about an entirely different person, right?
Right?
Of course he isn't but she doesn't know that]Video
Video
Face palming at herself, don't mind her blushing because wow she feels dumb. ]
R-Right. I... I will try to remember that.
[ And if she calls him Torao, Law will know who to blame! :D ]
Regardless, I do appreciate you answering my questions...
Video
Eh, not like it was a tough question. Enough people who know me are around so I forget that there's people who don't know anything about us.
Video
Take care, and good luck to you Roronoa.
