[A woman with wild black hair appears on the screen, wearing a crooked smile. She tosses a Pokeball lightly in the palm of her gloved hand, her other hand resting on a jutted hip. You likely haven't seen her before. Especially if you're Jubei HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!]

So these Pokémon like to battle, do they?

"Is that what those things are?" Betelgeuse exclaimed, ignoring her suspicions. He pulled seven balls from his pocket. "I found them laying around a house I was haunting. How do I get them out?"

[faetan]

[He stole them? Interesting... She'll keep that in mind.]

Only one of them will have a Pokemon in it. Press the button on the ball and give it a toss. The others you use to catch more.

Didn't you read the instructions?

[He'd better not be blind too.]

[betel_geuse]

"Uh, well, actually, no. I did find an envelope, but I just stuffed it in a pocket somewhere. Hang on. Let me try the ball thing!"

Betelgeuse threw three balls, before anything happened. On the fourth ball, a Squirtle appeared.

"Whoa! Hey, take a gander at this little guy!"

He turned his videophone so she could see.

[faetan]

Yeah that's real fantastic there.

[Sarcastic bitch. She's not impressed by your adorable turtle. At least Mudkip kind of LOOKS like something you wouldn't want to run into. In her opinion.]

[betel_geuse]

"HEY! Don't judge a pokemon by it's shell. How do I find what this fella can do? How the hell did it get into that little ball?"

[faetan]

I could tell you.

But I won't.

Not unless you can give me something in return.

[betel_geuse]

Betelgeuse leered, leaning closer to the screen. His voice deepened, becoming thick with innuendo.

"Why, babes. All you had to do was ask."

[faetan]

[She smiles thinly, regarding him in silent thought.]

What do you have?

[Best to find out what she can get before making demands, just so she doesn't miss out on something potentially better.]

[betel_geuse]

Betelgeuse grinned, spreading his hands, benevolently.

"I'm the ghost with the most, babes! There's plenty I can do for you. I can do possession, voice throwing, animating inanimate objects. I'm also my world's leading bio-exorcist. What do you need?"

[faetan]

[Interesting, and potentially useful. He also seems all too willing to serve, and be given a purpose. Yes...he could be a valuable subordinate.]

I want a ship.

[betel_geuse]

Betelgeuse blinked for a moment, then began laughing, a cackling sound that probably revealed how unstable he could be.

"Aw, babes, you're a riot! I don't have any ships on me, but what the hell! I can always help you steal one, I guess. Might be fun to scare the hell out of the current owner. So, what kinda ship you looking for?"

[faetan]

[All right, now they're talking. It's about time someone around this stinking hole took her seriously.]

Something fast, and something strong. It needs to strike fear in the hearts of those who see it. I want to see dread on their faces!

[betel_geuse]

"This is starting to seem like a hell of a lot of work, just for some information on pokemon," Betelgeuse said, frowning. "Cause, honestly, I haven't seen anything fitting that description in Genessia. Anyways, there are way scarier things than ships."

[faetan]

There's more to gain than Pokemon information. Riches, power...

[She tilts her head with a smirk.]

Respect.

[But as for scarier things, she waves her hand.]

I'm not interested in that right now. I intend for this realm to know exactly who I am.

[betel_geuse]

Betelgeuse honestly tried, because he did sympathize, really, but after a moment his face split into a wide grin and he laughed from deep in his belly, the sound booming from him.

"Oh, babes, babes, you're not getting it," Betelgeuse told her. "I'm dead. What's a dead guy need with riches? I've already got power. I'm the ghost with the most, meaning I got the magic. And respect? That would imply I give a shit about what anyone thinks of me and I can promise you that isn't so."

[faetan]

[She regards him with a sidelong glance, trying to gauge his angle in all of this.]

Then what do you want?

[betel_geuse]

Betelgeuse scratched his head, a bit flummoxed by the question. He couldn't remember being asked that before, not in a general sense.

"Well, I, uh...honestly? I just wanna have some fun, scare the crap out of some idiots, not anyone in particular, just idiots in general, and, sure, maybe do something useful every once in a while...on my own terms, of course. I like drinking and company, too."

In other words, he had no real idea what he wanted, but those things sounded pretty good.

[faetan]

[Honestly, she expected something much more demanding than that, some blood sacrifice or a share of the power. Negotiations are going to be much easier than she expected.]

So basically...I don't have to pay you. Except in high quality booze. Is that about right?

[betel_geuse]

"WHUT? Hell no, babes, are ya nuts?" Betelgeuse spat, offended. "I don't need you to get booze or anything else for me. You'll have to try harder than that, if you want my services. You're going to have to think outside the box a bit is what I'm saying! Get creative! I'm top notch, babes. You don't get top notch cheap."

[faetan]

[And she's back to frowning.]

So you claim, but I don't have any proof. You want to get paid creatively, show me how much you're really worth.

[betel_geuse]

Just like that, Betelgeuse is calm again, shrugging.

"Sure, babes, of course. You said something about a ship. You find one to your liking and I'll nick it for you."

[faetan]

[She sits back in her leather chair with a faint creak as she taps her lip thoughtfully.]

I'm accustomed to the kind that sails on water. However. Here, I've noticed some ships that sail in the air. Get me one of those, and consider me impressed.

[betel_geuse]

Betelgeuse grinned, shrugging. "Sure, babes, not a problem. Might take a few hours though. Gotta find something sweet and it's not fun for me, if I don't get to scare someone."

[faetan]

[A few hours? That's it? Having her own ship so soon would be fantastic.]

Sure, sure. Take your time.

[betel_geuse]

"Awesome, babes. Meet me back here at sundown, okay?"
