TEXT [OPEN]
Hey. I'm looking for someone who can cook dextro. Or could learn to. My race can't eat normal food so I need someone who can cook with dextro aminos instead, and the sooner the better. I'm running low on rations over here.

And I'll cook for you. I said I would. Do you have an apartment? I'm still in the barracks.
[ He means Commonspace. ]
no subject
I'm still living in the Commonspace.
no subject
It's functional enough, better than my quarters, but I'd like to have a proper kitchen.
did I miss the memo about commonspace not having a kitchen? You're the 3rd person to mention it
We had a full kitchen with a chef aboard the Normandy so I never really thought about it before. I guess it is missing a few amenities.

[ Although possibly only until realizing it's a sniper's rifle. ]

I don't think we have that model where I'm from and, believe me, I would know.
Tinkering doesn't have to be work related, but I see your point. If I'm really looking for a night off, I usually just have a drink or two and relax.
no subject
Yeah, see, that's the problem, I don't like to socialize. It would be more accurate to say I avoid it whenever possible. And drinking alone is miserable. I'm not that pathetic yet.
For me it's the kitchen. Still wielding a knife, but for peaceful purposes. It's a good compromise.

To each their own. But it's not like I go out on a binge. Just a friend or two. Relax, tell war stories, you know. You should try it sometime. Might even make you happy for a change.
[Garrus. Stop. He doesn't get humor when it's right in front of him why would he get it via text.]
no subject
I can't share details of my war stories, so there's no point to it anyway.
[ No, he doesn't get it. Or at least doesn't think it's funny. ]
no subject
Oh come on. What harm could telling me about your more exciting adventures do? It's not like I'm going to report you.
You know what? I'll start. Have I ever told you about the Mako?
no subject
No, I don't think you've ever told me about them. Or about much at all that happened at home.
Maybe I can share a few things.
no subject
[He had forgotten the basis of their conversation for a minute there.]
no subject
Fine. I haven't got anything urgent scheduled for today. I can be right over.
Text to Action
[Probably really soon, since Cassian lives in the same building. He glances around his place. It's not super neat; there are some gun parts spread across the table (he's forever improving things) and his sniper is leaning against the wall by the window, but beyond that it's not too bad.
The Archangel helmet has to go, though, so he throws that under the bed; he's have to remember to get a box or something for it at some point. He's never had company before, not even on Omega
especially not on Omegaso it's never been a problem before, but if there's a chance this might happen again he needs to be prepared. Would getting a retina scanner on the box be going overboard? He's a little wrapped up in his thoughts, so Cassian had best knock loudly if he wants to come in.]
no subject
Cassian is looking rather relaxed right now, dressed in the pale uniform shirt and military fatigues he arrived in he feels about as much himself as he can be in this place. The bag with kitchen utensils he is carrying is certainly not military standard, and he holds it up as soon as the door is opened to him. ]
I'm not sure what tools you have at your disposal, but I need some decent knives, for one thing.
[ That isn't odd. Don't question it, Garrus. ]
no subject
Garrus, on his part, is still in his armor; he really needs to find someone to make some casual wear for him. He motions for Cassian to come in, and closes the door behind him.]
I don't have much. Just whatever's in that drawer.
[ Whatever was left behind by the previous owner, really. Garrus wasn't kidding when he said he didn't know much about cooking. ]
When I need a blade I usually just use my omni-tool.
[ He lifts his arm and shows Cassian the blade the tool's mini fabricator can produce; the air around it is instantly warm. It's very clearly not meant for chefs work. ]
no subject
No, that's not suited to chopping vegetables... unless you'd like them grilled in the same step. Which, I guess, you could.
[It could be interesting, at a time when he doesn't have to navigate cooking for an alien already. But for now the blade holds his attention.]
I don't think I've ever seen a weapon like that. What kind of blade is that?
[And he's also taken note of the sniper's rifle, his eyes flicker to that though he tries not to. It's a beauty, and he misses his own.]
no subject
[He sees you eying his baby, Cassian.]
I take it you're a fan of snipers?
no subject
I know to appreciate a weapon as fine as this one.
[He walks a little closer for a good look, but no matter how much he craves to, he is reluctant to pick it up without express permission.]
I don't use an express sniper rifle, I use a modular blaster which can be reconfigured into a sniper rifle, but this is very nice. It must have quite the reach...
no subject
This is an M-92 Mantis. She's a powerful single shot, and that's before my modifications. Little slow to fire, but that only matters if you miss.
[He passes it to Cassian, an honor not many people get. He doesn't have to tell him to be careful with it; the man clearly appreciates weaponry. He'll ask to see Cassian's once he's finished with his. He has no idea what a modular blaster is, but he's always looking for some new weapons tech.]
