Please help me understand this.
Is it actually legally forbidden for humans to enter Everglade, or is it just likely to get them killed?
I would hate to be disrespectful. [ But nobody has tried to kill him in weeks and it's getting weird. ]

It sounds like the place would benefit from some strong leadership, mostly one that lasts longer. People are very adaptable no matter how harsh the circumstances, but they need to be given a chance to adapt.
Chasing the humans out of town sounds to me like it could start off a conflict along species lines.

and the humans are very outnumbered
and outgunned
so I like to play that team, as it were
besides, I was born human and I rarely use anything 'special' unless I manage to get in over my head

[ Naively so, maybe, but for all human rebels like himself do, it's still humans enslaving entire worlds of non-humans at home. It had been a nice thought that species doesn't matter here. ]
I'm not going to say we should all get along, I know that won't happen, but I personally prefer it when we all kill another over personal grudges instead.

I ran the one bar in all of Toronto, back on my world, that let everyone just hang out with each other and drink and play stupid games
mortal, vampire, fae, werewolf, whatever as long as no one ate each other
got in so much shit from the local freehold for it, though
cuz everyone on my world hides from everyone else, we all walk around claiming we're totally humans

Your bar sounds nice, I think I would have liked to visit it and I don't even like cantinas. But it sounds like a pleasant place.

whole orders of humans who do nothing but slaughter us, or worse
[Which perhaps made it all the more relevant that in Everglade's conflict, he seemed to be siding with the humans. Maybe it really was that bad.]
you can always visit the re-creation in Genessia City, if you'll dare a gay bar by the name of Velvet Lust
open sundown to sunrise

[ Yes, it is indeed noteworthy, and Cassian finds it even a little concerning. It must be very bad for people who have reason to hate humans to side with them. ]
I'm not much for nightlife, outside of gathering information, but I might make an exception. Are the patrons as diverse as back home?

I mean at the very least we have a nice bunch of real-people regulars, so... people from other realities, and they can vary a lot
the locals are a mishmash of assorted species and tropes, being that this is the central-most city
so, a little bit of everything, really

[ Maybe a better place to pick up news than the places he has scooped out so far. But being social... he really hates the being social part of cantinas. ]
Genessia is a colorful place, I've noticed. I might be drawn to Nova City, eventually, but it's interesting for now. And Nova City strikes me as very strictly regulated.

that's why I remade Velvet here and not in everglade
though now that everglade's gone to new levels of shit, I'm pretty damn glad about that choice

But I can sympathize. Many patrons too afraid to come into town wouldn't have been good for business.

[Assassinations don't stick, on this world.]

Can you tell me more about the guardian? I can deduce their political leanings from their policy, but otherwise.

[Not on a public network, buddy.]

That's a shame. Either way, I'll try to make it to your club soon.

I look forward to it
