Please help me understand this.
Is it actually legally forbidden for humans to enter Everglade, or is it just likely to get them killed?
I would hate to be disrespectful. [ But nobody has tried to kill him in weeks and it's getting weird. ]

The people who are part of it are people who really care for their city.

[ And which of the terrible decisions he's heard about were yours? As he's been told the tale, every Guardian only made things worse. ]
It's good of citizens to take responsibility for their own safety. Although it strikes me as difficult in a place like Everglade, where what is right and wrong changes so often.

Another reason why I formed the Rangers. Trying to build trust after the whole necromancy debacle.

I'm not sure if I would necessarily call that a trust-building measure.

Before though the only police force type thing was well... the guardian and his deputies whom were never native and the reason the trust wasn't there was because of the guy before me wanting to enforce what he thought was right, which legally speaking it wasn't in his job description to do... So you can understand why I did what I did.

And I do mean that. It's fascinating. It's the closest to home I have found here, if you would believe that.
I take it you're speaking of the necromancy debacle. One person, interestingly, told me that the humans are just getting what they had coming. A human, mind you.

It could also be old age hitting me.
Interesting and I'm sure there are others who think that, but I'm more on the lines of everyone being equal, no one person should be treated any differently good or bad.

But I've come to understand that hurts heal slowly. I hope your town can heal.

If it takes another betrayal or something like the banning of necromancy or that rule again, I honestly would not know what might happen.

I'm not going to say I know a lot about bringing peace, I'm a soldier, not a politician. But I know that trust is hard to gain, and easily lost. Even more so between different factions and species. Back home, the Empire I oppose believes that non-human lives have no value. I'm human, and so are many who fight it. But we have to understand that some of our allies will only see our species, and distrust us for it.
Sometimes it just takes time.
