[Kamui Mini Event] Broken Minds and Bleeding Hearts
Who: Those who signed up and anyone else who wants to help
What: Kamui event. Action. Chaos. Bloodshed.
When: March 10th
Where: Genessia City
Warnings: Graphic violence, people-eating, Koishi frowning, possible feels.
It was not unusual for Koishi to go missing for days at a time. It was unusual, however for Koishi to go anywhere without her hat. And that beloved article had been left at Satsuki's house for the past week with no sign of its owner. Unfortunately, due to the little youkai's unconscious nature it would not be possible to simply seek her out.
The only thing that could be done is wait.
***
[Video]
With a rather jarring shake the anonymous feed began. The device had been dropped the angle showing part of a blue-tinted arm and several wisps of green hair. Blood beaded at the points where needles had been forced into the exposed flesh, each connected to a shimmering red thread. The walls and ceiling were nondescript and there was no way to tell exactly where it was taking place. The figure was obviously still breathing, a small whimper audible just over a pair of running boots.
A gruff and muttered 'dammit' could be heard as the boots stopped, a pair of black gloved hands fumbling for the device. The camera briefly showed a gas-mask covered face before the feed cut.
****
[Action]
About an hour after the feed a figure was spotted screaming through the streets of Nova city at amazing speeds, crashing into cars and the corners of buildings. Despite the damage, all injuries resulted from this were minor at worst. It seemed to rush around blindly as if confused, turning, and charging through the gate to Genessia city less than five minutes after its first appearance.
It moved faster than people could pull out their phones, though security cameras would likely capture the image fairly clearly. It was Koishi. The hair was blood-streaked but unmistakable. She was clad in what could only be a black straitjacket and blindfold made of some sort of thick and heavy material. The center of the chest was a heavy lock with several chains to reinforce the pinning of her arms. The shoulders were fairly large and adorned with white smudges of what had once probably been eyes. And from under them extended two long pieces of silk, each wrapping several times around her torso and ending in metal hooks that rested at her waist like ribs.
She seemed to vanish upon arrival in Genessia City, darting off in one direction. And that's when the trouble began. Scattered destruction started all over the city, triggered seemingly at random. None caused that much destruction, but the ensuing fires and broken glass would ensure that firemen, law enforcement, and volunteers would be very busy.
Koishi herself was moving fast, the silk unwinding into a pair of arm-like tentacles; the metal ribs becoming claws. She grabbed people off the street, tearing into them, sometimes toying with them. People were released or let go at seemingly random as the little youkai fell into the rhythm of a seasoned predator. She moved fast. Sometimes running, sometimes flying, sometimes blinking. And sometimes she would simply vanish entirely.
***
As Koishi began her hunt, Ragyo stood atop a nearby skyscraper. She was positioned so that the sun was at her back, masking her natural aura. She simply watched for a moment, a hand on her hip before muttering to herself "La vie est drole" and turning to walk away to see to the preparation of other plans.
((OOC: Each character or group that signed up will get a toplevel here and each attack will happen within the span of time between Koishi's escape and when Satsuki finds her. If you signed up you should have a toplevel below. Each is designated with the sigil icon and they are in alphabetical order. If you didn't sign up feel free to tag the toplevel for reactions or relief effort if you so choose. Keep in mind that no one in this event is allowed to react to or see Ragyo. This is a smaller part of a larger plot.))

Arro & Sonico

Though he would be hard-pressed to openly admit it; despite the dead and wounded scattered in the wake of this; he was quite interested in the goings-on and the source of it. He was a scientist after all, and investigating such things certainly fell into the scope of Biology, for his purposes at least. He was on the move, the source being fast, in-humanly so, which meant relying on all his senses to try and take in where it was going to cut it off.
It was foolhardy, on paper at least. He was more durable than he looked, and unfortunately for him; his very nature made having a direct sample of what was being doled out the best method to learn its nature and ways. Therefore he was playing the part of someone that happened to be going in this direction when he was preceded by a couple.
While he was a scientist; ignoring someone in peril directly in front of him was something he could not do, and lobbed the only thing he could put his hands on, a planter, at Koishi to try and make himself a bit more of an appealing target so said couple could run away.

She didn't stay gone for long though.
There was a sound behind Arro. An inhuman growl and the sound of metal on stone as the youkai bolted out of the shadows, striking at him. She had either moved quickly overhead or through cover or had even teleported... but regardless he had her full attention now.

Blake
Re: Blake
Her instincts from her training days kicked in and she immediately turned on her heel, unleashing gambool shroud, lips drawn in a stern line, cool focus coming into her gold eyes. At first she didn't understand what she was seeing. Didn't recognize the creature she saw soaring towards her as anyone she knew, much less...
"Koishi?" disbelief colored the young faunus's voice.

And, all at once, she dropped the remains of her last meal and rushed forward, metal claws gouging into the concrete as she lashed out at Blake. Fortunately she had a short distance to cross first, giving Blake a bit more time to react.

[He'd already discovered that teleporting between cities wasn't really feasible. But that didn't stop him from popping to the gate, stepping through, and then following the blur (which, now that he had a better view, had a dishearteningly familiar shock of pale green hair). He makes a decision, and steps out in front of her, arms spread to block her way - nevermind that he wasn't standing in that particular alleyway a moment ago.]
You have to fight it! I know it's hard, but you can't let it control you. [All the while, projecting every iota of 'Calm, not a threat, please trust the nice man' he can pull together, which considering how long he's had to practice is quite considerable.]

She dashed forward, one sash unwinding from her body, the metal spikes striking out like claws! And she didn't stay to see if she had hit home, leaping up and onto the top of a building and vaulting out over the city. She wouldn't be impossible to track but with her speed, losing her would certainly make it more difficult.

Garrus

It takes him longer than he would have liked to find the source. He has no idea what the hell he's looking at, but he's determined to stop it from wreaking havok. He spots her way down the road, lines up a shot on his sniper, pulls the trigger, and - misses? How the hell did he miss? He never misses. Wait, where did she...
There. He grunts, frowning. The reports said she was fast, but he didn't expect her to be that fast. He sees her near a terrified civilian. Without hesitating, he tries again, lining up the killshot and pulling the trigger.]
((ooc: In case it becomes relevant, he's out there as Garrus, not Archangel (no helmet)
so he can get cool scars))no subject
The shot connected, sending her tumbling a short ways before she simply sprung back up, the impact of the location smoking faintly. Unfortunately she saw him now, for lack of a better term, stopping for several moments, seeming to regard him despite the distance. Dark, almost black blood dripped from under her blindfold and likewise some far more crimson in color ringed her mouth and claw-like appendages.
With a hiss, she was gone again, weaving in and out of cover and moving in his direction with the speed of a demon.

Marisa
>> << I'm here- Honest!
Marisa was out on her broom, doing her normal routine of flying packages and the like to their destinations. Today seemed to focus on Genessia City of all places which lead her upon the sight. It made her freeze up because even on routine Youkai Exterminations..it had never really been THIS bad. It wouldn't stop her though, just make her take a slight step back..especially seeing as it was someone she knew...
She's going to stay on her broom for the moment and hover close to the ground. There has to be a way..."Yo! Koishi, What's goin' on? This is a little much ya know?"

Mayu & Moon Knight
Mayu & Moon Knight
Koishi was too fast to avoid. The way she vanished and reappeared was unpredictable. Mayu froze as she appeared way too close. He could smell the blood.
"Ko..."
His voice caught in his throat as he tried to say her name.
He mentally yelled for Satori to find her sister. His internal shouts were likely drowned out by everyone else.
Well the dice don't have good news for Mayu...

Also used dice.
Dice ensure that Koishi surprises even me at times.

Ted
Re: Ted
His awakening was pretty rude, stirred as it was but that strange broadcast. He'd no idea what to make of it, save wait and see.
A grisly sight indeed. Once the commotion was afoot, he donned his own goku uniform and went to pitch in with the relief efforts. Was the current turmoil and the mystery broadcast related? Possibly, but there were more immediate emergencies to tend to. Fires were something he was skilled in dispatching. He leaped above one such building, extended the threads of his uniform into a dark canvas above, then aped a rain-cloud as water poured from the subspace, dousing potently.
At the back of his mind, he knew he should seek out the source rather than plug leaks, but first things first.

But here he was, sword on his back and a small pack of bone minions at his heels. He kept out of sight best he could, he didn't need to add to the screaming- and there! He heard frightened yells nearby and bolted out into the street, finally catching sight of the thing terrorizing Genessia City.
He didn't know Koishi, or of her. He'd seen the video, it wasn't hard to put two and two yet, and yet, he didn't have time to pick apart the real problem.
"Drop him!" he yelled, not expecting her to listen so much as he hoped it would distract her from her current prey. He hadn't drawn his sword and his minions lurked just out of sight, he needed to be ready to bolt.

LATE. AGAIN. I'm sorry.
Luke & Satsuki & David & Satori
This is a great "welcome back", isn't it?
He has no idea how long it's been. What it is that he's missed. Luke thinks that maybe he'll start with the tea shop, or maybe with finding a paper, but he doesn't even get that far--there's a bystander looking up at a creature clad in dark clothing, eyes wide and terrified. Luke follows their gaze and rubs his eyes, disbelieving. The shape was unmistakable, even though he didn't want to believe the blood-dripping figure was his best friend.]
