[When K-2SO show in the screen he's holding a giant white egg, head tilted. He has no proper features to show concern or confusion but his body language should be enough to give that away. In his shoulders, where the Empire emblem used to be, a bright orange Starbird can be seen instead.]
This thing showed up in the living-room, next to my recharge station. It also had a card with my name on it. I put it in the fridge but a few minutes later it when back to the living room, somehow.
Is this is how storks and babies work for humans? Because I think there's been a grave misunderstanding.

[Yeah, droids aren't exactly known for being able to reproduce. AT ALL.]
No idea. it won't break and throwing it away will only make it appear back on its original place.
I would have paid good money to see his reaction.
Hmm... Have you tried scanning it? You know, find out what's inside? All my omni-tool can tell me is that it isn't mechanical so it has to be organic.
[In other words, his omni-tool did jack on it and he figured out the second part.]
He told me he threw the egg out of the window. But it's back inside the flat, it seems to be impossible to get rid of them.
I did that when I ran the test to make sure it was not some sort of bomb, yet I can't not see what's inside exactly.
[Ey, it was a valiant attempt.]
He seriously asked you to throw it out the window?
[He pauses, looking at his egg.]
You know, I haven't actually tried to get rid of it. Just see what it is. Hold on.
[He walks out of the frame with the egg. There is the sound of a door opening and closing, and he walks back through, stopping, but not looking at the camera.]
Okay there has to be some sort of tech involved for it to be able to do that. [Because he's only seen one... thing that could teleport, and god help them if that many more were suddenly made.] Some sort of homing device, maybe?
[But then why couldn't his omni-tool pick up anything?]
['Not amused' being the understatement of the century here. Kay waits, wondering if the egg will show up near Garrus again or that only happens to them.]
Tech or magic, you can't never be sure when it comes to strange things happening in this city.
Tech I can handle. Magic... I don't even pretend to understand it. Closest we have back home are biotics, and that's an entirely different thing.
I see why he wasn't amused. I don't like that this thing reappeared before I even finished closing the door.
[He walks over to it, scanning it with his onmi-tool again.]
Still nothing.
We have the Force in my world and some species can do magic but I am more fond of things that can be explained with logic.
Do you think there's something alive inside it? And what's is that you are using to analize it?
[video] | Time for a 10 second crash course on onmi-tools
Far as I can tell, it probably is.
[ He looks at the screen, taking a moment to realize what Kay is talking about before raising his arm to show off the orange glow. ]
This is an omni-tool. It's kind of like a computer that helps me analyze and improve or interfere with electronic and mechanical technology. It also has a mini fabricator in it so I can make something with it, like a blade or a part I need. They're pretty stand for any sort of military or security personnel where I'm from, though most of them have been personalized a little.
But it's not telling me anything about this thing, so it can't be any sort of tech.
[video] | Yes, excellent
I'm sure we don't have those in my world. [But if his tone of voice is anything to go by, Kay wish they did.] It looks really interesting. What do you use as a power source?
Great, Cassian is going to be thrilled.
[Video] | Fuck if I know man time to make up science
[He pauses, weighing his options for a moment.]
We could meet up and I could show you the specs and take it apart a bit so you have a better understanding.
[It's a big step for him, trusting an AI, but Kay really seems like an okay guy; he's done nothing to make Garrus suspect him of anything, and if he's being honest, he sometimes forgets that Kay isn't a person
though that could be because of the bickering between him and Cassian.][Video] | Heh, works for me
Really? I'd love that. [Curious droid is curious.] I could explain you the details of how blasters and other kinds of technology are powered mostly by crystals in my world.
[He really appreciates the leap of faith and trust, Garrus.]
Re: [Video] | Heh, works for me
Crystals? That's a new one.[You've got his attention.] Do they emit some sort of dark energy? [In which case their tech would be more similar than they thought.]
but how will he ever calibrate a crystalno subject
We have different types, the most powerful and pure are Kyber crystals. They grow in the nature in very different planets. Dark energy is more abundant than anything else in the cosmos but it very diffuse and difficult to detect, as far as I know no crystals emit it.

But it's great that you could use that sort of energy.

And it's extremely dangerous to harvest, from what I've heard. It's highly radioactive. But it's useful, so we find a way.
no subject
Do you have droids an A.Is as well?
no subject
I wish we didn't.
[ If Garrus has just offended Kay with the venom in his voice, he's completely oblivious. He has nothing against this specific AI, but back home... Well, saying the Geth caused problems was putting it mildly. ]
no subject
Not fond of them, I see. Can I know why or it's private?
no subject
[ ...Fuck. ]
I don't think that you're... [He sighs.] Look, we have a race of AIs where I'm from called the Geth. They all but exterminated their creators, crippling their race for good, and tried to take down all of civilization. [They were unsuccessful in that thanks to Garrus and his team.] AIs aren't really smiled upon, and with good reason.
I don't have anything against you, though. You're not like them. [ At least, he doesn't think he is. ]
no subject
[It's okay, Garrus. Kay will take blunt sincerity any day over polite lies.]
I am a reprogrammed imperial droid. When Cassian altered my programming, I was able to develop a personality of my own. But the other KX series droids? They're programmed to kill the people I protect. Sometimes A.I. don't have options, they're just made to do bad things.
I know it's not the same as your world and I'm sorry the A.Is you know are that insane. I can understand your dislike.
no subject
[Son of a bitch he keeps forgetting what he's talking to. You think the metal face would give it away, but Kay is just too damn life like.]
Sorry, better if the Geth had never been created. Not all A.I.s are like that, apparently.
[It's a weird thing to admit, having grown up in a society that was turned so far against them. But exhibit A over here has shown him that that's not necessarily true.]
no subject
[Garrus, plz. kay is not that easily offended, though. At least not hen it comes to serious matters, he can be pretty childish otherwise.]
It's fine. You have reasons to dislike them, I can not fault you for it. But no, I have no wish to hurt anybody.
no subject
[ He nods, glad that Kay understands without him having to make a show of it. ]
You'll have to remind me to ask Cassian how he did that with you. Turned you from a mindless killing machine into, well, you. If the Geth were more like that, then I think the whole conflict could have been avoided.
[ And it might not hurt to repurpose one and try to learn more about them. ]
no subject
[He knows war and conflict too much to , and he chooses to be a jerk mostly when it's harmless, not when it can make people upset for real.]
Droids like me are hardened against hacking and Cassian is not exactly an expert programmer. What he did, that I do know, was change my Empire protocols so I didn't have to follow their orders. Some of my databanks are now half erased, others missing completely...without those limitations and with the ability to think for myself, my A.I. developed until it made me this charming fellow you know today.
[Cassian's reprogramming process basically goes as follows: grab the A.I. and butcher it until no longer wants to kill you.]
