[Video]

[Jaune starts the video, shoulders tense. Behind him, there is a nondescript door and window.] Hi. Jaune Arc again. I'm just going to get to the point. I've been here a while, over a year now, and I know a lot of people who have helped Genessia. I've been thinking a lot lately about how I can do the same. More than the other cities, I consider Nova City my home. But it's not perfect, and like all the other cities, some people benefit more than others. And a lot of people are just...overlooked.

I don't regret fighting, but I don't think everyone should have to. And everyone deserves an alternative to cope in ways that end up destroying them. So I've taken my background in dancing and made a dancing studio.

[He pans the camera up to show the building behind him. It's two stories, modern looking, but the most noteworthy feature is the looming gyarados shaped sign with sweeping words below it stating: Neptune's School for Dance. He moves the camera back to his face.]

So yeah Neptune's School for Dance is a new business and dancing studio where I'm hoping we'll get to focus on all kinds of dancing. I'm open to ideas because I want it to be a place where students feel like their input is valuable and stuff. Anyone is welcome to join, it's pay what you can...what else? Oh, right, our adult classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Seeing as I'm the only instructor at this time, and a Guardian Deputy, if an emergency happens obviously I'll have to focus on that. Which is why I'm hiring a second instructor and a bookkeeper. Once we grow more I might hire more instructors. [Some of the awkwardness seems to fade as he starts talking more animatedly, gesturing around.] But yeah, we'll be doing at least a few performances in the year, and some anti-violence stuff, as well as-- As well as rehabilitation. First class is free just to see if you're interested, and I guess if you have any questions you can ask them here. [He rubs the back of his neck, a bit unsure, and ends the video.]

[He hasn't actually been to her new home in person, but now that they're starting to mend their friendship and he has some free time, it seems like a good chance to. Equipping his pokeballs and shooting her a quick text, he heads over there and knocks on her door.]

Jaune, this requires little to no talent. Seriously, you just follow the directions. Your problem is that you have zero confidence and when you try to make up for it by pretending you do, you go overboard and make mistakes. Not that you're wholly incompetent.

Is it something where I could skip the oven part and stick it in the microwave to finish?

I'm going to run your microwave through with Myrtenaster if you ask me that again.

Please don't. What about on a frying pan?

That would be fine as long as you make sure it's cooked all the way. Are you planning on going camping soon?

I was thinking about it. It would give Neptune a chance to stretch his le--tail.

Any subarchway you wanted to try?

I was thinking Slum Street or the 3rd Circle of Heck.

Neither of those sound like pleasant trips.

[ She was going to ask if she could come but she just decides to put her fork down now and dab her fingers on her napkin. ]

I was kidding. I don't know yet, but maybe Lake Purity or Storybrooke. Y'know, I'm actually mildly insulted that you even think I was serious.

[He reaches to eat more food and stops when he realizes he ate all his food. Bye food.]

Don't bother Lake Purity. I know that's where Neptune's from, but Mewtwo doesn't particularly like it when people just wander in there. It's something of a humanless sanctuary. I've never actually gone without asking permission first. I've never visited Storybrooke, though.

I guess I can see why. Speaking of Pokemon, how's that one Pokemon you found doing? You wanna go? To Storybrooke. It just sounds like a not very terrible fairy tale.

He's doing.. better. It's a lot of work. But he's getting along with the rest of the Pokemon team so I think he's almost read to meet some new people. [ She opens her mouth to agree, but then stops and shakes her head. ] Perhaps that would best be left as a group trip.

That's good to hear. It's hard seeing him so afraid. [His smile doesn't quite reach his eyes.] It's okay. It was just an idea, I don't really want to go. [And it was just a cover for his current lifestyle.]

I understand why he is though. It's why I moved out of the house in the first place and started staying in the Skyrise after what happened with the Beowulf. It's.. difficult, when you have a power you don't know how to control. I've managed to figure out my summoning, but if something happens and I can't control my emotions I put everyone around me at risk. And you and I both know I'm not the healthiest person here. So I.. get it. Really well. I think we're helping each other in that way. [ For good reason, but it's one of the reasons she's so careful about it. Even living here with Whitley, she makes sure to lock her bedroom door at night. She doesn't have to, but it's for his safety more than hers. ]

I'd like to go sometime, Jaune. Really. Just.. I don't think two people taking a trip alone to a small fairytale-esque town that sounds really romantic is the best idea for us right now.

I think you can control them better than you think, or then you could, but you're good for eachother. I'm glad you're the one who found him. Can I see your summoning sometime? I just-- it sounds really cool.

Well you didn't like my idea for slum street. [He shrugs, like the rejection and disappointment that is totally his fault didn't sting.]

I think I can now, but I still have a ways to go. I can't stop trauma nightmares and Father's.. stressful, on top of that. But I'm good at it now when it's in a controlled setting, so sure.

[ She gives him a brief smile. ]

That's because it sounds gross.

Maybe you need to put yourself in stressful situations to get better at controlling summoning in them. When can I see it?

I think it sounds like a learning experience.

I'll get there. I know you're used to just diving into things, but for me I like to solidify my foundations before I move onto advanced techniques. Next time we're at the park. I still don't think I've gotten the force down enough to avoid breaking the windows if I'm too near.

[ Oops. ]

That doesn't mean it's a good one.

When can we go to the park? I'd be more impressed if you broke the trees.

[Shaking his head.] What kind of intellectual turns down a learning opportunity? I think you're hanging around...everyone, too much and it's rubbing off on you.

I don't want to break the trees either. Control and restraint is more impressive than unfettered power. It takes much more work to achieve.

[ Which is why she's honestly never impressed the second someone arrives in Genessia and is like LOOK AT MY AWESOME POWER!! Like, besides the fact that they're dumb and obnoxious and really aren't going to accomplish anything besides pissing people off. ]

Just because you learn something doesn't mean you learn something worthwhile. I also learned how to make pizza bagels. It doesn't mean that I will ever do anything with that knowledge, so it was a waste of my time.

Maybe. But I think both is better than just one.

[He looks down dejectedly.] I can't believe you just implied that pizza bagels are a waste of time. Do you know how many nights they've saved my appetite? A lot.

Of course it is. Control and restraint are useless without something to control and restrain. I thought it was implied that you should have all three.

[ She folds her arms. ] They're just fat and more fat loaded on top of carbs and more carbs. [ Sorry New York, pizza sauce is more sugar than vegetable. ]
