[Voice] Say Goodbye, Sonico
*There is a soft intake of breath before Sonico begins. Her thoughts are muddled and there's an edge to her voice - this is clearly not a rehearsed message, but the comments of a woman very recently hit with some bad news*
I just... I wish. I just wish there was some way, some how, just some small something.. that would mean that people could say goodbye. Disappearing. Vanishing into thin air. It just... I'm sorry, but it isn't fair.
*There's a pause, then a breath, but clearly she decides not to say anything further, and clicks off the feed*

"I'm going to have to disarm myself to remove them. My apologies." Working with her cuffs, Sakuya shifted her wrist and withdrew... a knife. A dagger, actually. From the cuff. And then another... and another. Quite a few in total. Each was elegantly carved along the straight, double-edged blade, ending in a small cross guard before transitioning to the handle. They seemed almost to bright to be made of steel...
She paused for a moment, running her fingers along the edge of the cuff before unbuttoning and removing it and placing it off to one side. She then began the process with the other one; removing a large number of knives from a space that couldn't even fit one. She removed the second cuff.
The apron was next and it was the same thing all over, though the knives were of a varied kind and clearly for varied purpose. The last thing to be removed was a sword, too broad to be a rapier though it was still a kind of thrusting weapon. Then the apron came off.
That was... A lot of knives.
The maid vanished for several moments, the water in the kitchen audibly running before she simply appeared again on the couch.
"Thank you, Sonico. I feel like I'm intruding. You're much too kind to me."

Sonico couldn't help it, it was all very strange and new to her, so when Sakuya returned, she was just standing there, scratching at the back of her neck and slowly shaking her head, "Oh... No. I'm just... trying to be a friend."
no subject
"Well, you're certainly a better friend than I believe I deserve. Thank you." She sat still for another moment, staring at the weapons before, with a small glance at Sonico, she scooted over on the couch, patting the spot next to her.
"I'm sorry. I know all this steel and silver is not something you're used to seeing. I assure you that neither my guard no my blade will ever be raised against you in earnest, Sonico. Perhaps, in your defense, but for no other reason."
no subject
Then she turns to Sakuya in shock and shakes her head, "Oh no! Of course I wouldn't think you would hurt me!"
no subject
She reached down and began moving them more neatly on the table, examining each and delicately turning the weapons over in her hands before setting them aside in matching groups. "It's been some time since I last took them all out though. It's rather irresponsible of me. I'm sure there's nothing gravely wrong with them but I could not forgive myself if I carried a chipped or cracked blade with me. Such things are dangerous."
At least she was busying herself. And the oddness of the whole situation is certainly an adequate distraction from all the recent happenings. "These here are for throwing but each shape has its own purpose. Hopefully to suit any need that arises."
Sakuya had gotten through about half of the throwing knives when she paused, picking up a butterfly knife. She twirled it once in her hands, snapping it open and checking both sides. "I kind of forgot I was carrying this little thing."
no subject
"Can I...get you anything to eat or drink?" She would be more comfortable in the kitchen while Sakuya examined her weapons, after all.
no subject
She seemed a lot calmer upon reappearing too.
She twirled the butterfly knife through her fingers. Almost absently, as one would a fidget. Of course she also wasn't performing anything too complicated.
"... I really don't mean to make you nervous, Sonico. I'm just trying not to think about things." She snapped the knife shut, the following silence growing somewhat awkward.
"So, um..." She was really trying, okay?
no subject
Sonico opened her beer and took a sip in that awkward silence, then let a moment pass before she spoke up, carefully, "I'm very sorry...that Xander is gone. I can only imagine that you must be finding it hard. I don't know if I can be of much help but... I am happy to be here for you. If that helps."
