Happy Housewarming

Now that things seemed to have settled down across the cities, Sonico was ready to get her housewarming in full swing. She has never been to one before, nor has she ever attended one, so it’s all very new to her. Still, now that she is more settled in her new home with Cassian and Kay, she is determined to make this a really great housewarming party.

So, all friends of Sonico, Cassian, and Kay, are invited to their brand new home in Attleon for a barbeque and drinks to celebrate friendship, and home. Come along and mingle!~

Early Evening

Where it all begins! The garden is large and includes a small pond, a couple of trees with a hammock between, a wood burning stove in the corner of the patio and, of course, the BBQ. There’s a large grass area and a patio area too, plenty of place to stand and chat. There are a few fold up chairs dotted around too. There’s a table full of foods and burger buns and condiments and, of course, yet another table full of various kinds of cider, beer, and soft drinks. Help yourself, mingle, say hello to the happy hosts and hostess.

Getting Dark

Later on, there’s a definite sense of merriment around the garden. If it’s too cold, there’s always the options of going inside to find a couch or a blanket to stay comfortable. But all the fun is in the garden, where the fairy lights that Sonico has strung up everywhere have been turned on, lending a festive, and almost romantic, glow to the evening. Even if most of the food has gone, it seems to have been replaced with snacks and more cold drinks. The wood burning stove is on now and, when it is dark enough, Sonico appears with matches and boxes of sparklers for her guests to enjoy – not quite fireworks, but fun enough!

Very Late

The evening is winding down, most guests have probably gone home. Still, it’s nice to sit long and late into the dark with friends, or even on your own just to enjoy the atmosphere. When all is said and done, there’s still some clearing up to do.

It's not a fetish. Calling it a fetish is disrespectful. It just wouldn't make a difference to me. Your thinking is too confined. The galaxy is full of different species, whether you find one physically attractive doesn't matter in the big picture.

I have yet to find a human or faunus I actually want to have sex with. Anything else wants to kill us in our world or... [ or whatever Salem is. Not that Em would want anywhere near that ] She'd be okay with killing me too. Robots aren't sentient in my world and there aren't any aliens since there isn't any space travel. But most importantly, I never want to be close enough to another person to want that. Without the emotion, it'd be like asking to get stabbed, with it just isn't happening. [ she doesn't think she's even capable of it. The closest thing she knows to any kind of love is loyalty, and that's probably not reciprocated. ] So I think expanding that pool for the sake of inclusion makes you a soft moron.

[ He gives a shrug. This has somehow turned more serious than he'd been counting on, but any opportunity to learn more about Emerald, about her life and the way she thinks, is welcome to him. Even if it involves his alleged frog fetish. A spy gotta do what a spy gotta do for the sake of gathering information. ]

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm not... You do realize I don't actually go out and get laid with various species, don't you? [ He gives her a pointed look. ] Sex without feelings would be stupid. Either it's asking to get yourself killed outside base or it's unprofessional behavior on base. And my life left no room for relationships. [ Another shrug. ] But that's something being wrong with me, I'm not going to blame it on my comrades having tentacles or eye stalks or... being synthetic.

I don't think you'd know how to get laid if you wanted to. [ Cassian seems too awkward to be good at it. ] I'm still going to go with thinking that's gross, but what can I say? I'm assuming those parts aren't made to go together and I wouldn't want to find out whose parts are going to kill me if I was interested. Remember that guy with the poisonous blowjob here? And that's without getting pronged parts involved or anything bigger than my head or slithery.

He wrinkles his nose at Emerald, faces all scrunched up. ]

You're supposed to find out if these parts would kill you before you get intimate, that's just common sense. As for the rest... Have you been thinking about that a lot? It sounds like you have. Besides, there are.... [ He coughs awkwardly, trying very hard to hold on to his dignity despite the fact they're now talking about giant alien dicks. If he just pretends that is perfectly normal party talk it will be, right? Right?! ] There are ways. Which I'd rather not think about. Information is good, but there are things I don't want to know about my comrades. [ Yeah. Dignity. He is so smooth. But not slippery smooth. No. Not going there. ]

In the past five minutes since you started trying to convince me that humans should sex up everything in the universe and I shouldn't judge people for it, yeah, I have been thinking about it! And I'm still judging people. I'll bet there's some women out there who have teeth down there to trap men, or lay eggs in the men or women they're with. And you're telling me yes, do that, don't judge. I'm judging.

Okay. Sudden desire to be protectively clutching his nether parts: successfully suppressed. ]

It's actually in the fruit. [ He gulps. Try to have this as a normal conversation. Don't think about delicate parts of your anatomy getting chomped on in a non-sexy manner. Why didn't he think to specify this as a G-rated party on the invites. ] It's the fruit. Olabrian trichoids lay their eggs in fruit, and you devour the eggs when you eat the fruit. They're used as an assassination tool. But they aren't sentient, they're just parasites. I'd hope sentient parasitic species would have adapted to less barbaric methods. Non-lethal infestation, for one.

[ He's keeping a brave face through all this. Does he get a cookie for his efforts? He wants a cookie. ]

[ terrible. Emerald slowly takes another bite of her food, red eyes not moving from Cassian's face. ]

Imagine what's out there you haven't heard of yet.

No, but... [ He pauses, gives a nod, albeit an unhappy one. ] Yes. Stay away from these... Yes.

[ Still for free cross-species love, but he also doesn't want to hear what else will come of that discussion. He's had enough chomping nightmare fodder, thanks. ]

I'm sure there's a lot out there I haven't heard about. And yet most species don't want to eat or kill you on principle. Think about it.

[ And could you please stop eating after giving him all these new concerns? How can you eat now, after talking about heart-eating parasites in your food? ]

Maybe in your world. Grimm hunt anything with a soul just to kill it and can sense emotions like sadness and fear. They nearly drove us to extinction in the past. Probably will again.

[ She takes another bite. Apparently this doesn't bother her. If she got grossed out by stuff enough to not eat Mercury would have starved her out on purpose by now for a laugh. ]/Small>

And the faunus have a whole group trying to exterminate humans. Everything else will eat you if you let it and it's hungry enough.

That's unfortunate. But these faunus sound like they're sentient. Are you sure you can't make peace with them?

[ For once, you're allowed to accuse him of being an optimist, though he would call it being pragmatic. ]

I'm allies with the White Fang, don't ask me that. [ Or, well, a sector of the White Fang that's about to hold a coup and overthrow the entire organization but you know whatever. Semantics. ]

[ He gives her an amused look. ]

That's solely your own fault for not sharing more information about your world with me. You could change that, and then I'll ask less stupid questions.

[ Don't ruin the steak, Cassian. The White Fang alliance being established isn't a story of helping out the discriminated against. It's the kind of thing Cassian would fight against. ]

That's good enough for me. Now shoo. Go... make others not-miserable. I have heard rumors that socialising is said to be healthy.

[ But his disgusted face says what he thinks of that theory. ]
