Sci Fi Sonico [Video]

*Living with Attleton's new guardian might one thing - she knew that they were struggling for funds. In the past short while, Sonico had overheard a lot about budgets, and lack of technological equipment. So what's a girl to do? Fundraise! She spoke to her talent agency about the best way to make money, and it seemed that there was an obvious solution: selling photo prints. Apparently, this was the way she made most money the easiest, and so Sonico was willing to try.

On the screen is a rather flustered Sonico, but she's doing her best to swallow her anxiety and to do the best she can for her housemates*

Good afternoon, everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely day! Today, I'm doing a little bit of...raising awareness, and I hope that is okay with you all. Please excuse me.

*So far so good, all cute smiles and a bow at the end. This is where she starts to get gradually more pink*

In order to raise funds for Attleton, and for the benefit of everyone, I have prints for sale.

*Sonico's face is replaced by one of the prints in question. It features Sonico dressed up as some sort of futuristic sci fi babe - clearly in-keeping with the technology theme - plenty of skin on show, and all sorts of metal and lights on her costume*

These are a one time only item. The more you buy, the more you save. There - there are more in this series...

*Now Sonico peeks around the photo of herself, and this time her cheeks are really quite rosy - perhaps the other prints in the series are somewhat more risque*

If - if you want to see more... of me. And uhm, well, of the prints then - you can order them from me and I will send them to any address. I am also happy to meet people if that is more suitable. Uh - oh, and I can sign them, if you wish. Thank you for your time today, and thank you in advance for keeping Attleton and all of us safe.

*There's a shy wave, then she suddenly remembers to blurt out the price - these not are the cheapest photos, it would seem, but who knows, maybe it's an opportunity you don't want to miss*

You did...after embarrassing her further on purpose. Don't do it again, she's done nothing to deserve that kind of treatment. Quite the opposite.

She's not getting my adoration just because she's showing skin on those risque photos.

If she didn't want to be embarrassed from being teased, she shouldn't have gone on a public network selling said glossy photos to begin with.

Yeah, I could've done that. But then... You could have also not make deal out of harmless teasing. Especially when it's not directed at you.

Why are you speaking for her, anyway? Do you not think her tough enough to fight her own battles?

She's my friend and my roomate. The reaosn why she's doing all this is to help the Guardian of Attleton and me. The least I can do is to make sure no one's going to offend her to get a laugh out of it. And....so, do you think you could do any better selling pictures?

[Kay doesn't sound to mad now, he's mostly just explaining his reasoning.]

She's too polite to be rude to people who are mean to her.

This isn't about me.

The problem with goody-goodies like you is "protect this" and "friendships that." All you're doing is wasting your time and energy on the weak. And the weak can't get stronger if they're always being helped.

You're living in a fairy tale if you think everyone is going to be nice.

Goody-goodies. Me? [Clearly, Ulric doesn't know him well.] My world is at war and my friend and me died to fix it, you think I don't know. Listen, doggie, being a jerk to people who doesn't deserve it doesn't make you better than anyone.

Now, what were you doing to me when we first met? There's a word for it, for things you. Tell me what is, if you're so smart. It begins with an "H."

[Not he tilts his head, not quite catching what Ulrics means.]

When we first met, you were trying to do some weird magic and you called me a tin-man. And when I tried to explain what this world was, you left. So if someone was doing something they shouldn't back then, it sure wasn't me.

When we first met, you insisted on calling me "dog," even to this point. For what reason? To tease me, right? To insult, perhaps?

The word I'm looking for for you is "hypocrite." You're no better than me.

Now then, I think we're done here. And one last thing for you: No one is obligated to buy anyone's crap just because they spoke up or they're so kind and sweet.

You called me tin-man, as I said, and you won't use my name. I'm responding in kind. Given how you were rude first, the hypocrite here isn't me.

She isn't forcing anybody to buy, just offering a product. If you can understand such simple idea, then you must be offended at all the sellers out there.

I tease, you come at me as if I committed a crime more heinous, than... I don't know, trying to write a sad ending for an entire city and unleashing giant monsters to mess up the place.

If what's her face... Sonico... has a problem, she can come deal with it herself. Not her guard dogs.

Unless you think she can't speak or act on her own, Tin-Man.

I was teasing you back. [At first, at least. Now the issue is that Kay is very blunt and Ulric annoyed him when he picked on Sonico.]

She's not a damsel in distress but that does not mean that her friends won't speak up when someone is trying to make her feel bad to make himself feel better. Can't you see the difference?

"Make myself feel better?" I'm quite content with my life.

If she ain't a damsel, then stop treating her like one. You don't speak for her. As I've said, if she has a problem, she can talk to me about it. I won't say this again.

If she can see this, I invite and encourage her to talk to me. I'd be more than happy to have her for dinner.

[And with that, Ulric cuts the feed. He'll wait for Sonico to speak up. Hopefully she can keep her guard dogs on a leash.]

[From his end of the feed, Kay just rolls his optics. Now he's certain Ulric just can't wraps your mind around how friendships work. Oh well.]

*All of this has been very painful for Sonico to watch - she just doesn't like to see people argue, particularly when she's involved. She appears back on video when it seems like they're done, eyes downcast and her voice quiet*

Please, don't argue anymore. Kay, I appreciate you looking out for me. Ulric, I don't know you well but I am sure you did not mean to cause me harm.

*Yes, he upset her a little, but he wasn't being horribly mean to her or anything, was he?*

I hope we can all move on from this in the best way possible...
