Hey so, bit of a weird question. Anyone here ever heard of Torchwood, and could maybe point me how to get back to contacting the local branch? That'd be really handy, yeah?

Year and star system coordinates would also be fantastic, but I'm not holdin' my breath waitin'.

[Bites her bottom lip in thought.]

[She doesn't even know which universe this is. Much less how she got here without a dimension cannon or where everyone she was with went. Maybe they're here. But then maybe even saying their name depending on the universe is dangerous. Luckily, she's had 5+ years (give or take for literal dimension rewinds and time in the vortex) of experience in learning how to do codes.]

Here's a fairytale you've probably never heard before.

Once upon a time there was a big bad wolf. She wandered a city of metal filled with metal men. [Too dangerous to even say the world cyberman until she learned more!] She thought she was on a mission to hunt down her lost prince. But she was actually on a mission to find home. Bit like Dorothy from Wizard of Oz if you know it. And one day she met a man who wasn't a prince at all. He was a very brainy professor. There was even another man who started off as a mouse but turned into a lion full of courage, saving worlds he never even knew existed. And a really flirty captain who was probably too pretty for his own good. They weren't off to find a wizard. Just a blue box.

The big bad wolf ran away from home and her pack over and over and over again, but no matter how many times she ran, and how many new friends she made or which universe she fell into, something was always calling her back. 'Pparently you can't escape your family that easily. That or the Big Bad Wolf's mum was seriously terrifying and would fight a werewolf for diamonds and totally win.

"No. Nothing blocks it." Koishi reached up, removing her hat. She had a very old scar above her left temple about the size of a half dollar and slightly depressed into her skull as if she were missing some bone. "I kinda ripped my mind reading out. It wasn't very smart. But all my abilities got inverted so I can manipulate the subconscious now. I like that power better anyway."

She replaced her hat and straightened it carefully, the lopsided inner ring perfectly covering the old injury and protecting it."I suppose its a transition. An incomplete one. After all you never set up any of the wolf's motivation. If you want your listener to infer a transition you're gonna need to a little more detail and practice your delivery. I bet you'll get it if you spend a little more time with it so don't give up, okay? It's a good start to a fairytale. I'm already excited to hear more! I dunno what this blue box thing is though. You make it sound really important but never explain it.

As for friends though... "Yes! I love having human friends!" Oh no. Watch out Rose. "We can do fun things together! Do you like ice cream? And fishing? And exploring?" Excitable seemed to tame a word to use in this situation...

Rose raised both eyebrows, but chose not to comment. There wasn't much of anything she could say to that.

"That's because the blue box is a metaphor. For home." And literally was her home. Even if she felt almost like she'd been kicked out.

"I love ice cream!" A giant thumbs up. "And exploring is my favorite thing ever! That an adventures! Does your err... subconscious control help with those?" Rose is going to totally wind up a puppet, isn't she?

"Ohhh! Well, my home is hell." A pause. "That's not a metaphor. I literally live in the place hell used to be located before they relocated. A lot of youkai and oni do. Mostly oni though."

"And yeah! My subconscious is great on adventures because I make people not see me. That way I can go wherever I want and people can look at me but their brains can't comprehend I exist. Or if they can they just forget about me when they look away." Silence eat your heart out. "And I'm psychic too! I can shoot lasers out of my head!"

[bigbadrose]

"Oh!" Rose perked up. "I think I saw where they relocated to. Krop Tor? Just outside a black hole? I mean, bit strange, but... good place for it." A shrug.

A nod. "Those are some pretty hefty abilities. I'm just human," a shrug, "Well, and the Bad Wolf. But I make it work for me."

"Oh really? A black hole sounds scary. That sounds like the perfect place to send people to suffer for the bad things they've done. I bet it was a great choice! There's no suffering here though. So you can visit if you want to. It's nice. But be careful. Sis has lots of pets and she has a raccoon named scribbles and he likes to steal crumbs and shiny things out of pockets."

Her third eye swayed. "There's nothing wrong with being human. Humans are clever and adaptable and good at a lot of things. That's why I like humans so much!" She was getting excited again. "I can't wait to show you Fayren. You'll like adventuring there. There are caves and mountains and dragons and all sorts of interesting things."

"He sounds adorable. I've never seen a raccoon before!" Imagine that, all that traveling and yet... nope!

"Sounds fantastic!" Rose beamed and giggled. "I can't wait. Just don't ditch me down there, yeah?"

"Yup! He gets into all sorts of shenanigans so be sure to take all the coins out of your pockets. Okay?"

She was moving outside now and Rose caught a glimpse of a building lit artificially by numerous lamps. The area beyond it was simply blackness.

"Would you like me to show you around? I was going to go places anyway so it would be no trouble." Was she flying? She certainly appeared to be... "Also, ice cream! I know where they put crackle rocks on top. They're really really good!" She wasp probably talking about pop rocks.

"Understood! I better remember to undo my Mum's hoop earrings too. They're a big big and I don't need them yanked on."

"I'd love that!" Rose gave her a thumbs up. Rose had tried grey gloop and turkey flavored icees before, so just about anything as long as it wouldn't poison her or was better than her Mum's cooking and beans on toast was good by her.

"Okay! You're at the bay, right? It's not so far so I can fly there right now!" Yup! She was flying. And it's totally far, Koishi. Don't judge distance by flight.

"You may not see me at first but I'll put my hat on your head and then you'll know I'm there, okay?"

"Actually I'm at a bar to meet my friend Amy, but I'll give you a map and directions! Same one I gave her. It's got a wolf pawprint!" Because Rose.

"That's not a problem though is it? Alcohol doesn't mix badly with the magic or ice cream or anything??? Because I had... a really long exhausting day."

Saved multiple universes, witnessed a genocide done to protect her, dragged Earth back manually to where it belonged (it'd been stolen, long story), found her ex-boyfriend, got dumped in another universe by her ex-boyfriend, picked up a new boyfriend who was a human clone of him (yeah...), lost him too, found out ex-boyfriend gets married and met his future mother-in-law.

Long. Exhausting. Day.

And she still hasn't had time to sleep, decide WHERE to sleep tonight or whether to face ex-boyfriend who may be in his own past. Yes.

Ice cream with pop rocks and flying sounds like a good idea to Rose right then. She might have downed like 3 whiskeys though, so there's that.

"Oh! Okay!" She was flying very quickly as far as Rose could tell, the background brightening quite suddenly. Had she been underground? Guess that made sense for hell!

"If you're exhausted though we wont go on a really long adventure if you don't want. You can come over though. Chireiden is huge so there's lots and lots of room. And you can relax and play with Scribbles and Kuro and do whatever you want."

"And sis wont mind the company. She's really lonely all the time but never talks about it."

"A small ice cream adventure and meeting your friends and sister sounds great though! But save the long adventure for after I talk to my ex, yeah? But I'll totally play with you!" Rose responded cheerful as ever.

Oh no. Friendship and playtime? Rose you're going to get showered with so much happy green platonic affection you wont know what to do with it all!

"Okay! I'll be there really soon, okay Miss? We'll get ice cream and then you can relax as much as you want in Chireiden." Which translates to: feel free to freeload as long as you like.

"I'm going to hang up now so I can fly faster, okay?" And with that the call ended.

It was barely ten minutes when the door seemed to open of its own accord. There was nothing for several more moments before a breeze brushed past Rose and a beautifully kept felt hat was placed onto her head. It was a little bit of a tight fit but it wasn't that bad.

Koishi would come into focus a few moments later, floating above the table and entirely too close to Rose's face to have been so easily missed seconds ago.

Oh goodness she was tiny. She was floating at the moment but she couldn't have been much taller than 4 feet with minty green hair and those glowing green eyes. The blue sphere was floating nearby, the cords looping into a heart and around her body several times before attaching to her feet.

"Hello Miss! I'm here!" No Kidding.

She laughs and nods. "Sure, thanks! See ya soon, yeah?"

Rose didn't even think twice before touching the hat and looking around. OH NO SHE'S SO CUTE! Rose has to resist the urge to give her a random hug, unsure if that is too familiar and too much an invasion of space so soon after meeting someone, but...

Ehhh, she'll just blame it on the alcohol later!

And glomps Koishi up in a hug, "AH! YOU'RE SO CUTE!" Rose Tyler: master of disguising her emotions? She is not. There is little reason to even bother reading her mind to be honest.

Fortunately, Koishi didn't mind the hug. Was she surprised? Yes. Yes she was. Mind? Absolutely not. Laughing she grabbed rose and returned the hug rather firmly for someone so tiny. Her third eye had shied reflexively out of the way though. Either way it was best not to have such a thing get squished between them.

Upon glomping Koishi Rose could tell that the little youkai certainly had mass, but her weight was mitigated by whatever means she was using to keep herself afloat. Which was certainly strange. But it made initiating the hug very simple.

"Normally I hug people first Miss!" She was still giggling a little bit. Even after the hug ended. "You're very cuddly, Miss. I really like you!"

Rose laughed some more, "Sorry, I think. Although I guess I don't gotta! Yeah, raised by a single Mum, and my best friend is kinda affectionate, we'd hug over anything." A fond memory at least.

Koishi was already grabbing Rose's hands, trying to tug her to her feet. "Wow! That sounds like a great best friend. My best friend here is Luke. Or maybe it's Satsuki. Luke really likes hugs. Satsuki does not."

If given the opportunity she would start coaxing Rose toward the door. After all, there was ICE CREAM to be had.

"I like your voice too. You talk kind of like Luke, actually."

"Yeah? What's Luke like?" Rose holds her hand and runs along like it's perfectly natural.

"He likes puzzles and talks like you and he's short and human and nice and I really really like him and I think he's great because he's my best friend. I'll introduce you to him sometime. He really likes his blue hat and is trying to be a gentleman but he's still such a child. It's cute!"

Koishi just kept babbling. Nonstop. Quickly getting off topic... And by the time they were nearing an ice cream street-vendor she had somehow transitioned to why fish was the most delicious thing ever. Somehow.

"Ohh! Ice cream!" She let go of Rose's hand, zipping over and taking out her device. "Can I have strawberry please? With the white chocolatey crackle rocks on top please!"

Yup! Those were pop rocks he was putting on top. "Miss! You should order too!"

"He sounds adorable too!" Rose laughed, and ran over with her. "Yeah! Definitely!" Rose beamed, getting out money to pay for them both. "What flavors you think?" She wrinkled her nose. "No Cherry or strawberry ice cream though, reminds me of my father's soda pop-- Oh! Okay I'll get that flavor pop rocks on top, yeah? And just vanilla ice cream for me, please!" Rose is easy to please. Seriously.

"He's absolutely adorable! Ah, I love little humans. They're so fun and cute and wonderful!"

Koishi waved Rose's money away and began poking at her device... The man checked a little display and both were given their ice cream in little paper cups with bright pink spoons. Satsuki had spent hours trying to get "how to pay for things you want" to stick in Koishi's head and the little youkai wasn't going to waste the knowledge And then she wasted no further time digging in! The crackling was actually audible from the pop rocks since she seemed to be shoveling it into her mouth as fast as she-

"Argh! Cold!"

Ice cream headache. The man behind the counter just shook his head. This probably happened every single time. Koishi recovered quickly though, the spoon sticking out of her mouth as she grabbed Rose's hand, tugging her along. Infinite energy this one.

Something slid out of her sleeve and wrapped around the spoon and removed it- whelp. Okay she's a tiny green tentacle eyeball monster then. It's probably why her sleeves are so loose.

"Come on Miss. Fayren is this way. It's a bit of a walk so we should get going, okay?"

Rose laughed quietly at the cold rush, but wasn't fazed by the tentacle. She'd spent a week stacking boxes with a boss who was all tentacles and eyes and mouth. The only time she got mad was when it reached parts of her she didn't like anyone she wasn't intimate with touching. And even then, she knew he didn't mean anything with it, at least, it was just very annoying.

"Fayren for a mini adventure?" Rose jogged along, "Or is that the way to Hell?" She licked the last of her ice cream as best she could. She really should meet up with the Doctor. When she stops wanting to curl up in a ball or throw things at him anyway.

"No. Old hell is inside Fayren. It's a sub archway. I gave up some dear memories and got it back. But then I got a wish so I have my memories back too. Which is good." She wasn't flying that fast, taking rose on a tour through Genessia city.

"If your legs get tired though I could carry you. One human isn't very heavy. I just have to fly a little bit more slowly." Which might be a good idea considering the archway would probably take at least another 30 minutes to reach. If not more. At least at the pace they were currently going.

Nah, Rose is enjoying it. "No, it's all right," Rose said obliviously, oops. "You're really strong enough for that? But it's okay, I could use the exercise. Burn off... whatevah. Might see if there's a train or trolley for the way back though. What memories were they?" Rose couldn't imagine giving up something like that, but then again, she'd never had powers, excepting as Bad Wolf... and she couldnt' remember Bad Wolf.... so... it was about even.

"Oh. They were memories of one of the youkai that helped shaped my and my sister's minds. The eqivalent of a mother but not really. Youkai aren't born. We manifest from nature. But she helped ensure that we could become fully sentient and rise above our aspects more quickly than we would otherwise. But I picked those memories since it was to take care of my sister and I know she would understand."

And before the feels became too strong. "Also, I don't know what a trolley is. It sounds like fun though! I've heard of a train. I've never ridden in one though. We just seem to have cars here. I've been in one a few times but it's so cramped."
