[It had taken dear William quite a bit to figure out how to actually work the communicator. Attempting to decipher words that he had never heard of was quite the task but eventually, with a bit of poking about, he managed to turn on the video function.

He blinks a bit and taps the screen, chewing the inside of his lip before finally speaking.]

My name is Will Turner...I suppose all of you have awakened in the same manner that I did, so I'll not articulate that surprise.

I do wish to know where I may find some accommodations beyond those assigned to me.

[Work would come later, he knew. He was a master blacksmith and now had skills for seafaring and repairing ships. There had to be something he could possibly do.]

Well, it depends on what you feel comfortable with.

You would be living in Genessia first, where the free housing is located, but beyond that you've got a large range from a city with flying cars to Fayren, which has magic and less technology. I myself have chosen to live in Fayren, as it's closest to what I'm used to despite magic.

I'm not sure what a car is or why it's odd that it should fly but Fayren is where I've chosen to at least begin. Magic is not much of a problem, as I've learned that it is everywhere.

[He smiles.]

What can you tell me of the city? Is it a port as well or a central city?

Good. Fayren is the only sensible town, especially if you don't know cars. They are awful and that is all you need to know about them.

[Her first encounter hadn’t been friendly. ]

Fayren has a port but the only thing it is good for is fishing boats. There are pirates in town but there is nowhere else to sail. We can't go far out before reaching the barrier.

Then I certainly do not want to encounter one.

[If he does learn of what a car is...he'll probably want to take it apart.]

Ah...pirates? Do you ah, happen to know the names of any?

[He tries to ignore the twinge in his stomach at the idea of no open sea to sail through.]

Bartolomeo, for one. He's famous in his home waters.

[ Or so he claims, at least, no way for her to verify it. ]

Do you have an interest in pirates, Mister Turner?

I'm...not sure I have met him.

[He looks sheepish for a moment.]

Interest? I suppose that depends on how one defines interest. I only wish to know if familiar faces are here.

If you don't remember Bartolomeo, then you haven't met him. He's one of these pirates who are hard to forget, or overlook.

I can't help you with your friends, but it's relatively safe to say they will respond to your message if they are here. I think most everyone checks this network regularly for messages from familiar faces.
