[It is a more thoughtful Grievous that appears on the network today. Thanks to chaos he has regained and clarified many memories that had been lost and while this happened some weeks ago, it has taken him a while to properly process it. At least, enough to speak about it further and not continue to keep it to himself.]

I have spoken of loss before but even then I had forgotten what that truly meant or how deep the wound can be. Some hearts once broken can never be fully healed and the emotions can threaten to overwhelm your life. The sorrow can become your life and all you may have left is vengeance.

To discover that there are even deeper betrayals can also be an instigator for revenge. Were certain people within my grasp there is certainty that they would pay for their treacherous actions.

I have been wronged and pieces of myself that were lost have now been found. I have not regained my true form but I have again found my soul and reconnected with the shards of mind and heart that had been shattered.

I will reverentially continue to grieve for that one which can never be returned to me yet my strength will prevail and I will continue to serve the people of Nova City as one of your Deputies under the new Guardian's leadership. I will protect you as I once did my own people; my elite warriors; my wives; my children and my family - to the best of my ability. I will do what I must, for the good of the people who reside in Nova and beyond, should other cities require my assistance.

The revelations and memories will not undo me. They only strengthen my resolve and purpose now.

[How come everything she sees on the network looks like a daemon? Her own traumatic experience in the Scarlet Night and her training with the Abbey makes it hard for her to not see this manner of mechanical being as some sort of daemon.

However, if her time with Velvet, Rokurou and Kurogane taught her anything, then...perhaps there is more to him than just a metal shell of whatever he is.]

[She likely won't ask about the wives in case it goes on about love and marriage in general. Being single, it was something she can't relate to.]

Can you use more weapons than a spear?

[Not being a Force or magic user of any kind, he focuses more on the fighting with weaponry.]

[The sole reason being she's only been doing this for a few years.]

Then perhaps you need more training, if you are interested in defending the city against future threats.

The cities all seem pretty well defended already. But I will no say not to lending my strength to theirs regardless.

[There's not even a trace of doubt that she can, is she wants to. The greatest warrior he ever knew was female, so there's no thought there that they should be more wives than warriors.]

I myself have handled many weapons in many battles over decades of time.

[This would give her a chance to get a closer look and see what he really is - and probably learn some new artes in the process.]

It appears I'm close to Nova City. I could be in the city in about 15 to 20 minutes. I'm still new to this world, so I don't know any training venues.

[ She's wary of the malice in his voice. She was very wary, initially, of the talk of revenge. Maybe ... this was part of what made some people go mad, in Paradigm. Remembering what they've lost, and then seeking vengeance due to that loss. As much as she had taken from her, as much as she personally had lost, she didn't understand the urge.

[A name he'll continue to use. The one he took on for himself long ago, even prior to the Clone Wars, as a constant reminder of his grief.]

You are both a general and a deputy?

[ Merely curious. The military and police, in Paradigm, were the same; so this itself she did not feel was strange. ]

I am not a General in any capacity here since we are not at war but I retain the title.

Officially I am a Deputy in Nova City. Any of these titles I will answer to, or indeed simply to my name.

War doesn't seem to be a prerequisite for a military presence.

[ Just observing, there. War seemed like the only real adequate reason for one, though, now that she thought about it, away from home. ]

Which do you prefer?

[Even through his childhood his people were at war so he has long lived with it and he well earned his rank at a very young age. In fact, in his own alien world his fighting was so revered and well regarded he was uplifted to the status of Demi-God. But this is not something he mentions often. General is title enough.]

It is more common for those to call me General, although both are acceptable terms.

[ Best not to mention that part to Dorothy, nope. She's got little patience for people calling themselves Gods by now. ]

[ Looks like a lot had been happening in Grievous' life while Cassian assumed they were both simply busy with their duties. They'd never been very social anyway. Now, though, he is frowning in worry. ]

[Well, the Doctor's not a huge fan of the whole revenge thing, but he does know a cyborg when he sees one, and with the mention of not having regained his "true form," together with the rest--well, he knows a thing or two about loss, as well.

...glad to hear you're so committed to everyone's well being, here, protection from what, though, exactly, heard about the things outside the barrier, very intresting but a bit unspecific, but you come off as the sober,tactical sort, if you don't mind my saying so, couldn't help noticing, wondered if you might have something more specific you're watching out for in mind.

There is no specifically looming threat. This is a promise of general protection should something dangerous appear in the future, along with all other more petty crimes committed by the citizens already here.

You can always help with the bounties on record or see if any Guardians are in need of more assistance.

...well, guess we can't really complain there's no looming threat, although it is convenient when it's right there in front of you, isn't it. Still, may as well go on record, myself, got a bit of experience with helping when something dangerous appears in the future, or sometimes in the past, as well, I try not to be biased in that respect, although I s'pose I'll be mostly staying in the present, here...

... Loss, huh. Sounds like you've been through a lot. I've been separated from my body, been destroyed at least once, then eventually I had to shut myself down. None of those made me miss anything.

But now I'm here and I feel kind of purposeless. And I miss the rest of my line of robots I belong to. I'm still trying to figure it out.

I do understand wanting payback for being defeated, though.
