…and I’d say, it just turns out I can’t leave you alone for five minutes.

[The phones tune in to the sweet dulcet tones of Cassian at his grumpiest. Kay had picked up his communicator from the floor after it was dropped by accident during a fight with Akihiko, and he accidentally turned on the voice option.]

Maybe if someone has gotten here sooner instead or away getting a coffee fix things would have gone differently.

[The droid snaps back, unable to keep the snappy tone out of his voice. He is rarely this confrontational with Cassian but he's in a terrible mood because the joints of his right arm seem to have been affected by Caesar's lighting attack.]

Maybe if someone had learnt to follow orders sometime within the last decade things wouldn't fall apart as soon as I take a coffee break!

[And off they are...10 years of petty grievances being dug up and flung at another as they work through their frustrations and feelings of helplessness in their very own way.  They're very loud and not very nice.]

For us it's usually whether the cat gets to sleep on the bed.

[ Yeah, he's definitely feeling chagrined as he remembers the battles fought over Fest, but still... ]

I know it's not about the coffee break. But this is a problem to solve, nothing to give up on. I want to work with him.

If you two are intimate the cat should not be on the bed, but that's just my opinion.

[ Weiss's old bed had a little bed built into the side of it for Frost because she didn't want him sleeping on her bed. Dogs are nice and snuggly but also covered in fur. Cats are also covered in fur. She's pretty convinced this is a universal truth that the bed is not for animals with fur. ]

Then you should tell that to him, not me.

[ Oh, he has won the cat fight. Even upset as he is, Cassian can't help looking a little smug at having won that. The hellbeast isn't sleeping...

Wait. What. Intimate? Why are they discussing that now? Cassian coughs, almost not hearing Weiss's reprimand. Yeah, he's just... Going to pretend that didn't happen. ]

I'll talk to him. We will discuss our, our workplace relationship. That whole affair.

[ He'll promise a lot just as long as he doesn't have to discuss his intimacy with Weiss. ]

[ They're not discussing it and she'd be mad if he tried. She doesn't know or want to know your intimacy level, but she assumes if they're together then there is some level. And the cat should not be involved. ]

Thank you. I'm sure you will hear how it went... Attleton isn't one for keeping private thing private.

In the meantime I should return to dealing with this crisis.
