[The phones tune in to the sweet dulcet tones of Cassian at his grumpiest. Kay had picked up his communicator from the floor after it was dropped by accident during a fight with Akihiko, and he accidentally turned on the voice option.]

Maybe if someone has gotten here sooner instead or away getting a coffee fix things would have gone differently.

[The droid snaps back, unable to keep the snappy tone out of his voice. He is rarely this confrontational with Cassian but he's in a terrible mood because the joints of his right arm seem to have been affected by Caesar's lighting attack.]

Maybe if someone had learnt to follow orders sometime within the last decade things wouldn't fall apart as soon as I take a coffee break!

[And off they are...10 years of petty grievances being dug up and flung at another as they work through their frustrations and feelings of helplessness in their very own way.  They're very loud and not very nice.]

[YOU DID NOT JUST...Kay doesn't exactly have a proper face to look surprised but the way his optics shift should be enough to convey the emotion.

He event shuts up for a few seconds before he straightens up and then looms over Cassian. If the man's going to be a jerk like that, Kay can also use his imposing frame for the same purpose.]

I don't mean to overstep but since you posted it very publicly to the entire network, I'm going to anyway. You realize that if one of you is in charge of the other, arguments like this are bound to happen, don't you? Sun and I couldn't even manage to work for one another when we were just friends, we'd kill each other if one of us was the boss.

Not that you two are like Sun and I but there's a reason most businesses aren't exactly pro-workplace relationships.

[ There's silence as he looks towards Kay. Yes, he's still furious, but he wouldn't want him not here to be furious at, either. ]

We've always worked together, since the day we met.

But you weren't always together romantically. It's a dynamics change whether you want it to be or not and it might be something you two want to discuss. I may not be a relationship expert but I know if one part of the relationship is expecting the other to follow orders, it's not an equal partnership-- which is fine when you aren't a couple but it's not once you are.
