[Rapunzel knew she had to attempt this someday. Wearing shoes while out, but as she tried various pairs she always found one thing in common. They were uncomfortable and also in some cases was quite hard to walk in. She had tried flats, shoes that had a slight heel, high heeled even boots but each time she just didn't like it. She wasn't happy with it.

As the feed switch on, there was fabric everywhere as well as painting supplies in some cases there were clothing that was either fully done or partly. Once she moved some strays hairs she finally spoke.]

Um, this might seem like a really odd thing to talk about but... Can people explain why shoes are so uncomfortable? I've tried a good few pairs and just they seem to pinch or just plain hurt. In some cases, I found they were really hard to walk in.

[She had one hand on the device and one hand in her hair playing with it for the moment.]

Just how can you wear such things. I am generally curious.

I do believe it's all about finding the right pair. Or simply, as some may say, "break them in."

My shoes have a soft material in them. They're from home, so they were made for me.

[If it were a real occurance, there would be a lot lightbulb over her head.]

Have you tried finding someone who can make custom shoes just for you?

No, I mean I could probably just make them myself like I do with clothes, but only if I really needed them.

[She wouldn't want to waste someone's talents for something she wasn't sure how often she would end up wearing them. At least by making them herself, she's only wasting her own efforts and it gave her something to do.]

Though what do people mean by breaking them in? Do they mean it literally?

Good heavens! How can you have gone so long without wearing shoes?! Have you lived indoors your entire life? There's so many things in the world that would be incredibly uncomfortable to walk across on bare feet! Broken glass, thorns, mud and dirt, pavement, rocky terrain...

[She takes a deep breath to steady herself before taking a dainty sip of her tea.]

Might I suggest some leather boots? Leather is made from cow hide after all, and thus is like wearing a hardened layer of skin, and with a proper cobbler or tailor, you can find a pair that would be more to your liking.

[Right to the point there, she really had no reasons to wear shoes, although when she finally did leave she still didn't wear shoes.]

I'm not sure leather boots would go with the style of clothes I wear, I mean I've seen some boots and they don't look like they would work with dresses. Is there something about them apart from the leather that works?

[That would certainly do it. Good heavens, Maribelle had a hard time even imagining how much of a shock to her system going outdoors must have been.]

Nonsense, I wear leather boots and dresses all the time. It's a matter of finding the right style of boot, and leather can be dyed in many colors to match various dresses. I suppose if you're against wearing leather, fur lined boots might also be more suitable for you, being soft and luxurious for the soles.

She had seen Rapunzel a few times on the network but never really responded. This was going to change. She wasn't looking at the camera, instead focusing on something she was writing, but the phone was propped up on something so it was not hard to see the maid's face.

"Are you wearing socks or stockings with them? Such things will prevent the shoes from rubbing directly on your skin and creating sores."

But I didn't know things like that were important to not hurt one's feet.

Pretty much. Never had to wear shoes before.

Because everyone else seems to be wearing shoes all the time. I feel like I should as well.

Maybe you were using the wrong size? Some are made of softer materials than others too.

Have you tried wearing sandals yet? I find those tend to be the most comfortable to walk in.

You should also get your feet measured to make sure you have the right size on your feet.

I have not. I haven't really seen any, but I out it down to the season we are in.

I was measured before by someone at one of the shops, so...they could have still gotten it wrong though.

Are you sure you're not related to Fairy Tail's guild master Mavis in some way? She feels the very same way about shoes as you do, and I don't think she's ever worn them from what I've seen.

I... Must admit I don't know who this Mavis is, so I don't think I am.

[Rapunzel tapped her chin lightly actually pondering it for the moment or two.]

Mostly because it hurts too much walking outside without 'em. And in my case, I spend a lot of time around metal floors...way too slippery without something with some grip on it.

I used to wonder that about a friend of my kids. She hated 'em, too.

I noticed it does hurt sometimes. I mean my feet could be adapting to it, but still... Now and again shoes might be helpful.

But I find it feels nice to not wear shoes. I can't really explain it though.
