Action in Fayren
[Icy was bored, there was nothing interesting going on in this world that simply didn't make her want to physically puke from how sicking it was. So she had decided to do something. Gain new power if possible. Learn new dark arts, plan to do something major. Who knew it could be her last hurrah, maybe she'll even get to take over something for once.

So today she had been spending a day in Fayren. It was the magical city so it was always the best place to start for the Dark arts, right? The ice witch could be found wandering around looking at various stores. If she happens to spots anyone staring she will speak up.]

Action at Everglade
[Icy floated around Everglade, not too high of course, but enough that she was somewhat off the ground. Her goal of finding various spells and the like had also taken her here. She was admittedly more than a little curious, even stopping in front of a store or two. So far things appeared to be fine, but Icy still didn't appear to be all that happy, but that was normal.]

{ Zeref had stepped out early in the afternoon, heading to just such a store. He needed parchment, and a special type of ink; the kind of ink used not for writing books, but magical equations and runes. As Zeref was about to pay for the items, he saw her; he'd seen her face on the network before, though he didn't remember speaking with her, and Zeref liked to think he had a pretty good memory.

When she caught him staring, he blinked rapidly, and looked away. }

{ Dark arts indeed; they were definitely what Zeref was infamous for in his world, even if that's not exactly what he was here for. He'd had an idea recently, thanks in no small part to a conversation with Weiss. If he was going to test it out, he wanted several safeguards in place.

He knew better than most what happens when magic goes out of control. }

[Icy was clearly unimpressed, not that she really was impressed with anything really. But when she does want to have her alone moments there was always someone staring.]

Why were you staring anyway, there is no purpose to it.

I've seen you on the network is all. I apologize if it bothered you.

{ Zeref lays some red bills down on the cashier's table, gathering his ink and parchment. }

I only came to buy implements for a spell I wished to test out. I won't disturb you further.

[Icy wasn't planning on buying anything and planned to leave things lone for the time being. After all, she didn't work so she had no way of being able to. Not that she really cared as she had other ways to get what she needed.]

Though what sort of spell requites what you got?

It's an experiment. I won't know how effective it will or won't be until I test it, but suffice it to say it's intended for the spirits beyond the barrier, should they ever return.

{ It's the bare minimum of information he could give out on the matter. He has no experience with Icy one way or the other, but he knows better than to give out too much information on magic with a total stranger. }

The spirits on the outside? How will you know how effective it is when one cannot go past that.

[Seemed rather pointless and stupid to her if there was no way of actually checking. Then again she did think most people were certainly dumb and amusing, to say the least.]

You never saw Weiss's message on the network, did you?

{ Zeref smirked, and turned towards the door. }

I think that which makes them such a threat can also be their greatest weakness. I finally have a way of finding out for myself if that is true.

Couldn't care less about the Ice Princess. Had better things to do that day.

And what if it turns out that isn't the case? You've learned something but not anything useful.

Well, that's the point of an experiment, isn't it?

{ And if immortality has taught him anything useful, it was patience. }

If I allowed the fear of failure to hold me back, I wouldn't have accomplished half of what I've done over the course of my life.

Sure, sure. So you both achieve and become a massive failure at the same time. I get it.

[She had gone to move to the door, she had other places to be.]

{ Zeref says nothing more and makes no attempt to stop her from leaving. If she wants to, she's more than welcome to; he has far more important things to worry about. }
