Video
[Zexion appears on the screen and he does not look happy in the slightest. Although perhaps he should be- he seems to be alive, after all, despite that the last thing he remembers, that shouldn't be the case. His frown deepens. He wants to ask how that's possible, but he's not sure if anyone here will have the answer to that, or if he even really wants it right now.]
Hello?
[He shifts in his seat like he's uncomfortable or unsure of himself. To be fair, he's much more familiar with books than he is with technology, and he's not entirely sure if videotaping himself is a good idea, but it's potentially the fastest way to get information.]
If I'm to believe the information that was given to me upon my arrival, I've arrived in a world that I cannot leave. Is that accurate?
[He did already try to leave via darkness, but clearly that didn't work, or else he wouldn't still be here.]

Re: [video]
[He rears back a little and widens his eyes.]
Oh! Why, you must be a Nobody!
[Wait, that's bad.]
Er, I mean...well, you're not the only! A few of your fellows have arrived a while back. Lea and Arelen made a clean break, in fact, and Demyx is well on his way to the same. Say, what sort of women are you interested in?
[That might sound like a non sequitur. He enthusiastically nods along as Zexion gives him the delight of agreement.] Yes, that's my theory. People just sort of...fade. I mean, the disappearance itself is very sudden, but it seems to happen after a slow period of...spiritual enervation, I suppose.
[He'd be glad that Zexion is taking the hint with regards to that; yes, be active! Get involved! Live and love without reserve! That's the way to be.]
Of all the fantastic persons Genessia's invited, humanity remains a stalwart constant. That is, when it comes to our physiology, we've an idea of what to expect. A large blood sample was taken from a bevy of volunteers, proving that our bodies defied expectation that way quite flagrantly. Thus, we drew our conclusion.
(Sorry about the delay! :( )
[Pleasure really isn't the word for it, but he's trying to be civil for the moment, at least until he has some kind of plan in place. He looks surprised and not a little confused by Ted's question about women. Why would he be interested in women?]
Interested in women for what purpose?
[Yes, it's a question. He has no idea really, and he has no idea why Ted would ask such a thing. He's never had to think about anyone in a sexual or romantic sense, male or female.]
Very well. I've been told that we're expected to have jobs here, I'll just make sure to work hard.
[That counts as involved, right?]
Ahh, I see. That's very interesting. Was aging the only change?
YOU WILL SUFFER (9 `-`)9
Why is not having a pleasure fortunate? Aheh, unless you're cultivating fondness by absence.
[He responds to the counter-question drolly.]
For dissection.
For courtship you cad! Goodness, the Organization's non-fraternization policies must've been severe. Now that the field's free for the plowing-
[Very unfortunate metaphor, Ted]
-well, what sort of aphrodisiacs allure?
[Prrrrobably! But even work can turn into the workaday. Variety is the spice of life, etc.]
Yes, or the only physical one we've detected so far. There's another one one could deduce. You see, there are parties out there very interested in our emotions. Some arrive that, bluntly speaking, shouldn't have any, like automata or other hollowed out beings. Nobodies being a familiar example. And yet, the aforementioned interested parties would seek them just as much as a conventional soul.
It would seem, then, that those who, in their own spheres of existence, ought to be empty as anything, are elevated to a spiritual equality. Or, to use another example, I'm friends with one who claim that they exist conditionally on the mythic belief of others. And yet, they do just fine in a world full of strangers who've never heard, let alone had faith.
Which is to say that, for those who need it, there's a metaphysical solidity they have that wasn't there before. Perhaps it's tied to these strange necklaces. All theory, I'm afraid, but something worth investigating.
O_O
[He actually perks up slightly with interest at the mention of dissection, but alas, his expression quickly falls back into boredom once Ted reveals the courtship angle. How boring. And pointless.]
Courtship? What for? You know what I am and that I have no heart to feel anything, so what point would courtship serve? There were no specific rules regarding fraternization per se, but I have no interest in such things. My time was, and will be, better spent elsewhere.
[His interest is back, though, at the return to the theoretical stuff. He hums with curiosity and puts a gloved hand to his chin thoughtfully.]
Very interesting indeed. I'll think about that, then. Thank you. You've been most helpful.
Re: O_O
Eheh, well there might be an extremely helpful, perhaps even salvific fondness between Nobodies and somebodies. Something that courtship might...
[He trails off. It feels more fun to leave it a mystery]
Well, you wouldn't be opposed to such a thing, would you? Meeting with the fairer sex and discussing mutual interests, and so on. [If he won't be forthcoming about what he wants in a woman, Ted will just have to infer. Probably the 'brainy' type, or one interested in the hard sciences. But where will he find a girl like that?]
You're very welcome! Let me know if I can be of any further use to you.
[Particularly in the shipping department.]
Re: O_O
[Zexion laughs at that. Good joke there, Ted.]
The only woman I've ever really spent time with would likely electrocute you for calling her that. And if she's even a fair example of her sex, I would rather not.
Re: O_O
Pfha. Thankfully there are others; she needn't be your archetype. Besides, you couldn't have spent all that much time. She quite likes flattery.
Give it some thought. Better yet, call it an experiment.
[He'd see whether piquing Zexion's interest were as simple as the correct jargon.]
Re: O_O
[It does in fact catch his interest, at least slightly. That being said, Zexion isn't stupid, and Ted's attempt at manipulating him is rather transparent.]
And you're so insistent because?
Re: O_O
Aheh, well given the nature of your coterie, I can't say I'm surprised. No honor among thieves, and such heartless thieves at that.
Oh, scholastic curiosity, that's all. You're a peculiar case for the subject matter I'm interested in; a rare sample. It'd please me extremely if you'd go along.
[not like he has anything else to do rite]
Re: O_O
[He raises his eyebrow at the "rare sample" section of the discussion. Zexion gets the impression that Ted plans to go along with this "curiosity" whether he has explicit permission or not.]
I suppose I have little choice in the matter.
But I'm sure we've both had enough of the past; there's a future to consider, the seeds of which we'd best sow presently. Hence, I'm happy you've agreed!
[Or close enough]
Well, I'll see to that, while you see to employment and, hopefully, better lodging.
[He knows some girls are into bums, but hopefully he'll be at least as gainfully employed as Demyx.]
Re: [Video]
[He clears his throat here, not entirely comfortable. He's not entirely sure if his death was part of the larger takeover plan or something that Axel did completely on his own, but nonetheless, he was a casualty of that effort.]
-would not have been guaranteed to be a positive direction to go in.
[He doesn't say more than that, though, leaning back slightly. He doesn't respond to the "agreement" portion, only raises an eyebrow. He would be extremely insulted if he knew he was being compared possibly unfavorably to Demyx of all people. Please. Timon worked harder than Demyx did, and he basically lazed around all day. At least the meerkat was motivated by the need for food.]
I'll start looking for employment immediately. I would like to keep busy.
Re: [Video]
Aheh, that'll learn me for trying to find a bright side for such dark-robed sorts.
[Moving on!]
Good idea! I'll have more business for you yet. Good luck with un-idling your hands; go under the Mercy!
[Only mercy could see him through handling Ted.]
