[September will find Rose increasingly more and more scarce, until she almost all but disappears until the second week of October. She went from attending as many of the 12th Doctor's lectures, and even hanging around the campus of Attleton University testing products ostensibly; but after the first week of September, she pretty much disappears for a bit. No sign of her on the network, and even around the TARDIS, or her usual haunts, she's hard to nab. Even for someone like Captain Jack Harkness who spent a good portion of a century tracking her and has a good bond link to make sure she's safe will find Rose a bit scarcer than usual. 3 years of acting like a ghost has made it a lot easier for her to be invisible in a crowd if she wants.]

[Whatever appearances in public appear to be marketing and testing related, survey, and throwing things literally into fountains or against walls or collecting data.]

[But finally she makes a small appearance on the network!]

First round of drinks is on Mirajane. All of the Doctors are required to make a presence or I'll make life hell for ya, more'n usual, yeah? [Tongue out to the side.] River, Martha, Jack, Gwen, Demyx, Koishi, Satori, Belle, Rory, Amy, and apologies to anyone I forgot. [Laughs.] You can make excuses, but I'm draggin' ya all out for at least one drink. Be there! Everything after the first drink you're on your own.

But since I'm officially quittin' after this crazy last month, I might be able to spot ya. Some.

[Grins.]

[And locked to Demyx:] First mission, find us a suitable tower. Nova city. Price is negotiable. Capacity for modifications is not.

[And indeed anyone hitting up the Fairy Tail Guild during the first round of drinks on Rose / Mirajane can probably sneak in a free drink by saying they're friends with Rose Tyler. Just might want to make sure you actually know who that is if pressed.]

Well, sweetie goodness knows that if anyone could be ridiculous all the time it would definitely be you.

[River was teasing him gently, and she reached over and brushed some of his hair behind his ear, with a smirk.]

It's not a top hat and tails, but it's miles better than the fez. Anything is better than the fez.

Well... yeah.

[He beams at the first part, obviously interpreting it as a compliment regardless of how it was intended--but huffs at the bit of about the fez, giving her the most I'll Have You Know face.]

Whot, no, I loved the fez, fezzes are cool.

Sweetie, fezzes are definitely not cool. Don't make me need to shoot another one off your head.

[That said, her tone is fond, and she smiles at him, and rests her hand over his own.]

Do you like it?

Well, it's no fez.

[He gives her a briefly combative look since honestly does she really want to try and out-stubborn the Doctor? I mean she's high on the list of people who could make him work for it, but really.

...once his point's made, though, he brightens almost immediately, since he was mostly just being stubborn.]

...but yes, what d'you think?

[He hops up to pose with it, first straightening his bow tie, then adjusting the fedora in what might have been an attempt at a rakish angle although the overall effect is less Indiana Jones and more Jimmy Olson trying to dress up as Clark Kent. That, plus the tweed, and the bow tie.]

[If the Doctor wished to take a bet on who could be more stubborn, well River would bet on herself any time, especially when it came to himself. So, she just meets his eyes expectantly until he admits that he likes it, and River laughs softly.

He looks ridiculous as he always does, and a bit like a child playing dress up, but River just grins at it and inclines her head.]

Amazing, of course. I have good tastes.

[And everything was better than the stupid fez.]

Ha, well.. yeah.

[He's not about to argue with a compliment, after all, even if there are a few logical steps to follow before it becomes a compliment to him.]

[That makes River laugh, and she reaches over and tweaks his nose for once.]

My dapper husband who has excellent taste in wives.

[He's amused at her turning the nose-tweak back on him--although this one's a tad more squeamish about the wives thing than certain other regenerations have been.]

Oi..! It's not like I just run about getting married, you know.

[Tick.]

[He raises his hands defensively--then rolls his eyes a bit.]

......well, yes, fine, Elizabeth had an actual priest, but in my defense, I thought she was a Zygon.

[And as those words sink in, he just makes the most exasperated face, since there's not a lot he could have done about his prior regeneration's behavior.]

Anyway, it's not my fault, it was all the... hormones and tight suits.

[River's just going to laugh at that. She can't not. And then she's going to just shake her head at him, and then lean back against him.]

I'm sure Marilyn would approve of that, love. Blaming your last body.

[Winding him up a bit? Oh yes, like mother like daughter.]

[The Doctor just mopes petulantly at the teasing, although he doesn't do anything to stop her from leaning against him, just muttering half under his breath.]

I told her that wasn't a real chapel.

Pfft, it was Hollywood. What on earth was ever real then?

[In River's opinion completely nothing, and she had spent more than her fair share of time there, just bopping in and out of parties and enjoying the company of the stars as River Song is often want to do.]

Yeah, well, try and tell that to her.

[...still, he's at least a bit mollified that River seems to be in his corner on that one.]

I would, but I'd be scared I'd need to marry her as well. I'm sure she's lovely, but I think I've met my quota for wives at the moment.

[And River is just going to shrug because honestly, what's a girl to do.]

Oi, it's not a competition.

[You don't have to marry anyone, his whole point is that he didn't even, really! ...of course, no one can wind him up quite like River, so.]

Of course it isn't.

[A beat and a smirk.]

Because I'd win.

...yeah, not sure you got the spirit of not competing, there.
