September Catch All + Fairy Tail Guild Invasion by DW cast & OTA

[September will find Rose increasingly more and more scarce, until she almost all but disappears until the second week of October. She went from attending as many of the 12th Doctor's lectures, and even hanging around the campus of Attleton University testing products ostensibly; but after the first week of September, she pretty much disappears for a bit. No sign of her on the network, and even around the TARDIS, or her usual haunts, she's hard to nab. Even for someone like Captain Jack Harkness who spent a good portion of a century tracking her and has a good bond link to make sure she's safe will find Rose a bit scarcer than usual. 3 years of acting like a ghost has made it a lot easier for her to be invisible in a crowd if she wants.]

[Whatever appearances in public appear to be marketing and testing related, survey, and throwing things literally into fountains or against walls or collecting data.]

[But finally she makes a small appearance on the network!]

First round of drinks is on Mirajane. All of the Doctors are required to make a presence or I'll make life hell for ya, more'n usual, yeah? [Tongue out to the side.] River, Martha, Jack, Gwen, Demyx, Koishi, Satori, Belle, Rory, Amy, and apologies to anyone I forgot. [Laughs.] You can make excuses, but I'm draggin' ya all out for at least one drink. Be there! Everything after the first drink you're on your own.

But since I'm officially quittin' after this crazy last month, I might be able to spot ya. Some.

[Grins.]

[And locked to Demyx:] First mission, find us a suitable tower. Nova city. Price is negotiable. Capacity for modifications is not.


[And indeed anyone hitting up the Fairy Tail Guild during the first round of drinks on Rose / Mirajane can probably sneak in a free drink by saying they're friends with Rose Tyler. Just might want to make sure you actually know who that is if pressed.]

[Tongue out the side, and a laugh and a nod; all the tension gone in a flash!]

Yup! As big as you want! Your own lab even.

[Snorts and rolls her eyes, and folds her arms.] Well, you know how I feel about UNIT.

[There's a reason Bad Wolf virus corrupted almost all of their information on her, Jack, and even some of the parts of the Doctor.]

Oi, UNIT's brilliant.

[He gives her a how can't you love UNIT look for like two seconds, then glances off.]

...often brilliant, they're not bad. Better track record than Torchwood, anyway.

[He crosses his arms a bit combatively... but he has some pretty warm memories of the Brigadier, still, even if UNIT's performance has been a bit checkered. He tends to think of Jack's Torchwood as an exception to the rule. ...but he's also being more childishly petulant than serious.]

No. [HER FACE.] Torchwood was bad management and our fault.

Queen Victoria founded it, practically blackmailed Jack, [Did, in fact, but Rose doesn't even know the full extent] because when she exiled us, she also decided to set up an institution to protect Britain from aliens and us.

[Hand gesture.] That's why it's different in Pete's world, because she was fully killed there. And sometimes... aliens need protecting from us humans, yeah? [Gentle grin and a hand over both his hearts.]

[But she drops it and shakes her head.] UNIT shot Dean, caged him, and were super sexist. Noupe! Not gonna convince me they're better.

[Tongue out the side, lolling grin.] You're just biased because they gave you a fancy title. But I'll admit, I'm just mad because they were such a hassle to work with.

Either way, tell you whot, yeah? I promise to do better than both, what do you say?

I've worked with UNIT, yeah, they don't always listen that well, I mean... they're only human.

[He gives her a bit of a trolly face at that, especially since she's insisting on narrating things he (at least mostly) already knows.]

...but some of them are top notch, for all their faults. And you know what I've got against Torchwood.

[He's not going to go into it. She doesn't really need him to, and he'd rather not retread that old ground, especially with his previous face here, who's so much closer to it. He shakes his head, brushing all those trains of thought away, and smiles a bit wistfully.]

...still... between you and Jack... well, you know me, sucker for a redemption story.

[If anyone could make him change his mind about that name, after all, it's his friends.]

I'm human, and I can do better. [So there.]

[But her grin softens about Torchwood and she nods.] I'm still gonna try to get Tie-Doctor to join us too. [Face scrunch.] He's been bounty hunting. [HUFF!] I'm sure that's goin' real well.

You say that like it's not what we always do.

[He smiles to himself, pretty sure she'll boggle at that reply, based on her reaction.]

I mean, answering someone calling for help, not the... money bit, still not sure what to do with that, pretty sure mine's going to internet and maybe cleaning products.

[The Doctor rolls his eyes, there. He really doesn't try to keep track of what Amy does with the cash he brings in for the household, or how much it is, for that matter.]

Whot?

It is not! I've never hunted people down like a mercenary. We help people who are in trouble! Fluffy's probably failing miserably because he'd rather help the people with the bounty on them!

Help them? It's all "someone has been clobbering people with a silver hammer to the tune of Maxwell's Silver Hammer," and "someone has been eating clowns," I mean, it's not cybermen, I know, but sounds rather like the sort of thing we try and put a stop to.

[bigbadrose]

[Giggles at the Maxwell's silver hammer joke, and then generally looks confused because she does not remember doing things like that ever.]

Ah! You mean here?

I'll admit, I haven't read the bounty section of the papers much. I usually get distracted with the puzzles.

But I know he wasn't as okay with most of the stuff as you think! He was really upset that everyone just wanted to railroad some of the people. I mean... you've had a bounty on your head too before, Doctor!

[The Doctor nods affirmation, amused at her getting distracted with the puzzle section--although he screws his face up a bit at the rest.]

I've had lots of things on my head, that's not the point.

[He might be just a little piqued at someone--even Rose--presuming to tell him how he felt about something. Especially since it's so bafflingly obvious to him.]

Of course he's not okay with it. Obviously he doesn't like how ev'ryone else does it, why d'you think he does it? Blimey, when's the last time you remember we showed up someplace in the middle of a catastrophe and I said, "oh, yes, I see you've got matters in hand, probably involving lots of shooting first and no questions asked at all, I'll just leave you lot to it and not get involved"?
