It's a happy kidnapping time (OPEN)
Who: Adachi, the victims & the rescuers
Where: Different Cities, TV World Subarchway in Attleton
When: 22nd - 29th
What: A log for the player plot.
Warnings: It may get a little violent, has blood and other stuff. Be careful. Also Shadow issues and other things included.
LINKS
Finding Luke | Kidnappings | Dungeon Rescue | Catching Adachi | OOC Team Forming.
How this works:
1) There will be a section for all kidnapped persons so we can play out the actual kidnapping progress if so desired (it can also be hand waved). I would love it if you could come up with a starter tag about what they're doing/where they are, but I can also work on the starter if necessary.
There will be two kidnappings per day on 23rd, 25th & 27th. Please choose a date to your liking and be aware of what others have chosen.
2) Every kidnapped person will form their own floor on the dungeon. The floor will reflect their heart's context and look something that reflects the part that they keep hidden from even themselves. At the end of the floor there is a room that where the kidnapped character is with a possible boss fight against the kidnapped person' shadow.
NOTE: I will confirm later if characters will be able to have their Personas, but one will appear for them, as a sign of facing their other selves. The other self has to be faced in order for this to happen, however.
3) Each dungeon floor will be limited to only four rescuers, because Adachi has his powers and can order the rules of the dungeons as he pleases.
4) Characters with special abilities are more than likely to get attacked by shadows. Characters without might have it safer.
Shadows.
5) Kidnapped character's mun gets to decide if the rescue team is successful or if they would want the attempt to fail. This would mean either a) death and bizarre body discovery in Attleton or b) near death and bizarre discovery in Attleton.
The wounds will, unlike in canon, be visible, as seen from Luke's discovery. The TV World here and in canon work slightly different ways, after all.
6) The time given to attempt a rescue of each character is three days.
In summary:
Until 25th; Yukiko can be found from the dungeon floors (she lasts a little longer because of Persona)
From 23rd to 25th; first two victims (Adela, Blaze) will have their dungeon floors
From 25th to 27th; next two victims (Conan, Quinn) will have their dungeon floors
From 27th to 29th; last two victims (Airy, Anna) will have their dungeon floors.
Last date for victims to get kidnapped: 27th
Last date for all the victims to be rescued: 29th
Adachi can be caught starting from 27th, after his last kidnapping. There will be a thread for that, too.

Dungeon Rescue
Charred Forest - Adela's Dungeon
A soft groan leaves the girl as she finally regains consciousness, feeling a pounding head-ache but otherwise unharmed for the moment. It's almost too dark to see, but perhaps because of the moon peeking through the smoke above there is enough light to not be completely blinded. ]
'tis a shame, is it not? I could have been happier, more assured, had this night not ruined everything.
What...?
[ Wait, coming out of the house, was that...
Sure enough, a girl identical to Adela in every way was walking out of the house, wearing a look of utter disdain. The only real difference was how her eyes glowed, yellow and inhuman as she looked down on her other self. ]
This night. I blame it for how I live. I blame it for my fear, and I blame it for father's death... And I blame her.
Her? What are you speaking of?
Mother. I might tell myself otherwise, but I hate her for it.
[ The reaction is immediate, and Adela gets to her feet with a glare worn on her face. ]
How dare you say such a thing with my face, you... you... Creature!
But it is how you really feel. You hate her. And I know this because I am you.
[ Adela's shell-shocked, staring even as the shadow smirks and continues. ]
You might not blame her for the fire, but you blame her for leaving. You tell yourself you understand, that she left because of her regrets, but you still hate her for it. You wonder what you did wrong, why she would not stay -- you think she hates you as well, for being the one who survived instead of father. And that hurts, especially from your own mother.
Stop it...!
Why? 'tis the truth, and nothing more.
[ The shadow merely smirks as Adela lunges forward, attempting to punch the other and failing. It wastes no time in tripping Adela, letting her fall to the ground before grabbing the front of her tunic and dragging her back to her feet. ]
It hurts, and it makes you afraid. You cannot trust anyone, can you? You know that there is always a chance that they will leave you without warning or reason. Just like she did.
Stop it!!
Even your beloved uncle. You are afraid he will leave you too, and you will be all alone without a friend in the world. A weak, pathetic, and helpless child -- and nothing more.
STOP!
He may have already abandoned you, leaving you alone in this strange world. You try to hide it behind curiosity and excitement, but it does not change the fact that you are afraid and alone.
STOP IT!
[ Adela shoves at the shadow, who merely laughs at her as it takes a step back. ]
Are you so ashamed of those feelings? They have been nothing but honest, and I should know. All of your fears, all of your hate, I know all of it. After all, all of this resentment, this hatred and distrust, it IS yours, and I AM you.
ENOUGH!! You... You are...
[ She's breathing hard, expression naked in panic even as she shakes her head in denial. What she says next, however, is the spark to what will be an explosive battle. ]
You are nothing like me!!
[ Deafening silence falls for a few moments before the shadow laughs, long and loud as darkness pours out of it and it grows, malforming into a black armoured night with an equally black sword forming in its hand. Behind it, the house lights itself on fire and blazes bright, angrily with intense heat and vigour. ]
You will die by those words, foolish girl!!
[ Adela has no time to get out of the way, crying out as the sword the shadow wields digs into her shoulder, only barely not cutting off her arm as Adela stumbles back and away. It's all she can do to not let the shadow kill her, at least not before help would arrive. ]
[[OoC: Would like the rescue attempt to be successful if possible please! ]]

But yet he had found himself running through a dungeon and was thankful that the shadows seem to be avoiding him for the most part. As he had reached closer, knowing full well the others had been behind him, he found himself stopping.
He hadn't heard much of what was going on, but had been there to at least witness a sword digging into the others shoulder and without thinking had started to make his way over.]

Hey, get back here! [She's so tempted to waterbend him back but he's so far away by then.] We need to stay together!
[ ... He probably doesn't even hear. She'd be surprised if he does. Katara will yell at him so much like a protective sister figure that she is for all of this, better watch out for your ears later, Yugi! Right now it's time to focus on surviving alive from this place and she turns water into ice leaving a shadow trapped there. ]
Sunken Kestrel - Blaze's Dungeon
The lanterns from the Raven Shadows almost seemed to illuminate the way through cramped halls to the former hangar that was located beneath the flight deck. There, Blaze could be found, staring around the hangar in confusion. Despite the twisted remains messing with his mind, he still recognized the OFS Kestrel anywhere, but how the hell did he get here? Questions plagued his mind, but his eyes would fall on to what appeared to be an old, decaying black and red F-14A Tomcat and seated on the wing with legs crossed one over the other was a man who looked exactly like Blaze, only with eerie, glowing yellow eyes piercing through the darkness.
"If only I'd moved a little faster. Noticed things more easily. If I were just better, none of this would have ever happened."
Blaze's eyes narrowed, feeling a wave of unease wash over him at hearing his own, echoed voice. "Who-?"
The other 'Blaze' lazily looked down at him with narrowed eyes, "It's your fault this happened. Bartlett and Nagase were shot down before your very eyes. The lives of those nuggets you were supposed to protect from the Scinfaxi, lost. The lost lives of both Oseans and Yuktobanians, the President's kidnapping, the Kestrel sinking, the death of your own wingman!"
"What are you talking about-?!"
"Don't act like you don't know. What happened during the Circum-Pacific War. You know as well as I do who was responsible for every incident I just named."
Blaze could feel a chill go down his spine as he made eye contact with his 'doppelganger'. He was hesitant, before a silent question escaped his lips. "Who are you?"
A twisted sneer came to its face. "That's a ridiculous question. I'm you."
[OOC: A successful rescue is preferred, and a boss battle isn't set in stone! If the party successfully keeps Blaze calm, they might be able to avoid a fight with Shadow Blaze.]

As soon as he'd been alerted to the situation at hand, Akihiko had taken to throwing himself blindly at the various dungeons, only taking small breaks to recover between dungeon diving. However, when he came to a door that didn't seem to want to budge with voices on the other side, Akihiko did what he did best. He punched, treating the door like every Shadow that came after him.
After a couple punches that didn't budge the door, a combination of Akihiko's strongest left straight, and a stab from a giant gladius, the door finally came off its hinges, as the half-naked cape man stepped into the hangar, looking around as if taking in the surroundings before approaching the source of the voices.
no subject
Once the door is open, Troy followed Akihiko inside. His rifle stayed close and aimed forward for any surprises that awaits the other side.]
Those things we fought along the way. That's what you and Yukiko dealt with all these years? They remind me of the Enes back in my world.
no subject
[Blaze narrowed his eyes, while his Shadow let out another eerie chuckle.]
Do I truly have to spell it out for you? I'm you. I know everything about you. Your experiences are my experiences, after all.
[Blaze shuddered. No, this couldn't be the case. That doesn't make any sense. True, this thing has his face, and it stated some incidents during the Circum-Pacific War that only he and his wingmen should know about, but...]
Maybe I need to make it clearer for you. Why don't we talk about the times that you resented Nagase so much?
What?! I never-
[The Shadow chuckled again, throwing his legs over the edge of the F-14 wing and staring down at Blaze.]
Oh, yes you did. Two occasions you let her do the talking both led to disaster. You knew who was on that transport plane- "Mr. Cargo" you called him incase the radio was tapped. They had to make an emergency landing when it turned out there were Yuktobanian spies on board, right?
That wasn't u-
Oh no, that wasn't you... but after the appearance of the "8492nd Squadron," there is no one to blame but yourselves. You left them alone with the President, who had just suffered an attack on his own transport en route to North Point. You could have called in a tanker and kept the President safe- but no, you listened to Nagase and Davenport and left, when you first should have verified the authenticity of the 8492nd.
[Blaze shook his head, taking a step back.]
You can't truly expect us to know every squadron registered with the OAF.
But I would expect you to protect your country's own president! You could have prevented an escalation of the war right at that very moment! You could have saved hundreds upon thousands of lives right then and there! And yet you let your wingman do the talking, allowing the President to be taken and hidden away in Stier Castle in Belka. And so the war escalated, and where was I getting to?
Ah, yes. How Nagase let your wingman die.
She did no such thing!
[Blaze hadn't even realized that he'd yelled that, and it sent a throb of pain into his head. His neck and head hurt a great deal, no thanks to Adachi and that damn book. He trembled, causing his Shadow to laugh again.]
She was the one who told him to crash in the stadium, didn't she?
His ejection system malfunctioned, he couldn't-
There was a river nearby. Had you been more observant, you could have guided Chopper there. He could have performed a water landing, and he could have survived. But no, that was another occasion that you let her talk, while you were too busy worrying about your own hide to notice the one thing that could have spared Davenport's life.
That wasn't- that wasn't anyone's fault.
Or so you keep telling yourself. Once the skirmish in November City was over, and Davenport's life lost, that's when you realized: the river. The river was the key. And you never let yourself live that down.
[A loud 'BANG' echoed through the hangar, causing the Shadow to casually glance up while Blaze quickly turned around, seeing light coming from the entrance of the hangar. Blaze squinted, barely noticing two figures in the dim light- and there weren't like those strange creatures that were scattered throughout the carrier. Someone showed up to this place? But how? Blaze had too many questions echoing through his head, while the Shadow just chuckled at their new guests.]
You never were able to handle anything alone, were you? You always need someone else to bail you out. It's almost like that one night at Sand Island, isn't it?
no subject
Yeah, but this is something different. Stay close and ready for a fight, but don't make a move just yet.
[Akihiko approached, eyes locked on the Shadow, raising his voice slightly so that Blaze could hear him.]
I see you found your other self. What's your name?
no subject
[Troy keeps his rifle aim steady, taking two careful paces to the side to create a good angle of attack. In case the Shadow decides to attack, it won't get him and Akihiko both in one swipe. He zooms in on Blaze and his Shadow, and he have his AI Silke enhance the audio of what the two are talking about.
Troy lets Akihiko do the talking for this one. He's never faced a Shadow before, so this is a good time to learn more about them. But if there's a chance the Shadow gets distracted by Akihiko, he'll fly to Blaze and get him. A holographic scope formed and hovered the spine of his rifle, with the target reticle aimed at Shadow Blaze's head]

Painted Halls – Airy’s Dungeon.
Tick Tick Tick
[The sound stalls and silence fills the halls once more. The windows were dark however without the heavy presence of light pollution it’s easy to see outside. Millions of stars dot the dark royal blue hue that hangs like a canvas over the realm. Everything appears to be peaceful if not for the soft crying that echoes from down the hall.]
I’m sorry.
[The voice is weak, Airy’s small form curled in the corner of the room while blood pools across the once clean floor. It isn’t enough blood to suggest that someone’s died but it’s enough to cause worry. The room itself is an old science lab though the desks have been pushed aside and broken glass littered like gleaming shards on the floor. A shadow stands in the middle of the room staring at Airy, her lips pulled in a cruel and uncaring smile.]
You hurt them.
No…
They trusted you.
I didn’t mean too.
It’s all your fault.
Mark… Sara… [She whispers the name of her friends softly, her eyes staring blankly at the floor as if their shadows might appear flickering into view.] It was just a game… we were just trying to scare each other.
[The words sound lost as if she’s trying to convince herself of its truth.]
You’re a monster.
No.
A mistake.
[Airy looks up at the shadow, her eyes laying on a dark figure wearing a startling white mask over its face. Fangs gleam against the darkness followed by sharp pointed teeth that yearn for blood.]
You should have never existed.
I’m sorry.
[The windows around the classroom darken to black as if the schools been submerged under a thick watery darkness. Golden eyes peer from outside, their gaze shifting like molten lava as they silently watch the proceedings. Those who look into these eyes will begin to see an outline of a beast which slowly makes their way from the shadows and into the room as if prompted by the wandering gaze.]
Run run run; like a scared little child. [The words were now sung, hate dripping from each syllable.] You can’t hide who you are.
Please stop it.
[ Airy feels her strength seeping from her body as she’s pulled into the haunting nightmare.]
You don’t belong, so you should just die.
[Two beasts break free from the shadowy windows; large fangs gleaming in the dim lighting as they go running towards Airy’s motionless figure.]
[ooc: I’d like Airy to make it out alive though she’s probably going to get banged up because she’s currently useless in a fight.]
Painted Halls – Airy’s Dungeon.
He had no idea what to expect when he stepped through, but what he found wasn't it. He also wasn't expecting to be alone. The hall was dark, and there was a weird ticking, like from a clock. He saw that the corridor ran forward, and turned before fading into the darkness.
He looked back toward the portal he'd entered through, hoping the others would know to step through the door. He was going to save Airy, but there was no way he was going to pull it off alone.]

But as he drops down and lands noiselessly on the ground, the only reaction he could feel was disappointment. ]
Geez, someone seriously skimped on the decor around here.
no subject
I was half expecting like ...a well in here since we pulled a reverse of that one film with the chick that crawls out of the TV? You saw it right, Danny? That movie was fucked up.
no subject
A scream rings through the hall shattering the silence. A small gleaming scarlet path is cut along the cold polished floor as it snakes from one of the far rooms.
Fresh tears stain Airy's cheeks as she fights stubbornly against the cold voice. Her ankle is bleeding, her foot lodged in the mouth of a large cat like creature. The second attacker has bitten down on her shoulder and then paused as if waiting for the command to do more. Heat and pain flared from Airy's side.
The cold voice echoes a little louder now.]
You could fight this. If you wanted too. Stop pretending to be normal.

Library - Conan's Dungeon
Not like the usual silence of libraries, full of the whisper of pages and low conversation in corners. This had that very particular weight to it that he remembered from days in his father's library, when he had been the only person in the Kudo house and he had known that there wouldn't be any visitors.
And as he climbs out of the chair he had been left in, and begins to inspect the room, he couldn't help but notice that not a single book was out of place. None of the tables held any books and every bookend was perfectly aligned with the end of the shelf. There wasn't even any dust.
What was going on here?
As he reaches the end of the aisle he begins to catch flickers of shadow out of the edge of his vision, moving too quickly to identify. As Conan turns to chase after them he is halted by a gloved hand pressing down on his shoulder. He twists against the new arrival and confronted with the figure of a black knight. And not just any.
He knew that costume.
Conan shrugs the hand off his shoulder and takes a step back.
]
Who are you? What do you want with me? What is this place?
[The knight shrugs and takes off the helmet, revealing Shinichi's own face. The face he should have right now. He grins with Shinichi's own smile.]
Why I'm you, of course. You're a detective, aren't you? Shouldn't you have figured this out already?
As for this place? [He casts out a grand dramatic gesture at their surroundings.]
It's nice here, isn't it? Everything here is in its place. There's no one running around messing things up and over-complicating things. No deaths. No crimes. No one for us to fail.
There won't ever be any murders that need to be solved. No one can die here, because there's no one else here. Here, we can keep anything bad from ever happening to anyone.
Wouldn't it be nice to just stay here forever?
[The knight smirks with Shinichi's confidence.]
That wasn't really a question, by the way.
[OOC: Would prefer a successful rescue.]

[Dairine looks around, trying to get a feel for her surroundings. The silence is rather eerie, as though it is pressing down upon them. She tightens her grip on the laptop before quipping.]
Well, Conan did say he was going to a library.
no subject
[ Something about this library feels off. He elongates his staff, holding it in front of him. This wasn't like fighting the Akuma. Everything about this felt . . . surreal. ]
no subject
Mmm. I'm not surprised, honestly. This is Tantei-kun we're talking about.
[ His eyes, shadowed by the monocle and hat, narrow in thought. ]
Although I admit that this is a bit literal, even for him.

Thank goodness Satsuki had given him the life fiber suit. He intended to put that through its paces. But secretly, wearing his usual garb over the super-vest. That might be funny; they might have a few surprised looks when they see your everyday human go at superhuman speeds!
...then again, maybe not. Superheroes are a dime a dozen these days. Still, Ted had the suspicion much would fall to him. Two women (sorry cat guy, it's a little epicene) and an effeminate man.
The vest wasn't the only thing he brought either; rations, tools, first aid in case the hostage wasn't feeling up to sorts, like Luke. Gun and sword at the ready, Ted talked and walked quietly, as befitting a library.
"You all talk as though he made this himself. Is that the suspicion? Some nightmare psychodrama made manifest?"

Yukiko's Castle - Yukiko's Dungeon
I thought this wouldn't be the case again. I've gotten over this.
[But never the less, even if she was mildly annoyed she knew that she still had to find a person who had been kidnapped. She was pretty sure even with the fake that he would have in fact done it.
But as soon as she started taking her first steps to find out, the sight of shadows and the young girl was quick and ready to fight, even if she was by herself.
The shadows themselves all seemed to be based on the typical fairy tail. Knights riding horses, kings, even on the random occasion some dice for one reason or another. But Yukiko was dealing with them all by herself, for as long as she possibly could.
When people should arrive, wandering down a rather fancy hallway will come across the young girl, kneeling down, out of breath and practically ready to collapse. She had been fighting for a long time and now it was starting to get to her, but she was still trying her hardest.]
I... must keep going.
[On the upside there is no major shadow to fight since she already confronted herself at least. However there are multiple smaller shadows incoming.]
Caddycorner dungeons/Luke's Puzzle Maze [closed]
[Luke's dungeon did not present as particularly menacing--long, academic appearing hallways seemingly randomly arranged. Frequent turns. Doors brought you to rooms of geographical impossibility, but always with a pattern. Secret paths, allowing one to shorten the travel. And puzzles, of course. At every corner, every turn, was a lock bound in place by some contraption that required some extra thought to open, or some quick thinking, or proof that one had solved enough puzzles before. Get the answer wrong and it was back to the beginning. The shadows made the puzzles that much more difficult, hiding behind office doors and bookshelves, appearing from the path that had been empty just moments before.
If geography was important in the shadow world--he didn't know, nor did he care, as he had other priorities--it turned out that Luke's dungeon was quite close to Yukiko's, so much so that when cornered himself in another dead end it was in a room with a window that looked directly at Yukiko's castle.
Slamming the door, gasping for air, Luke turned to the window. It was small, but he might be able to fit through it. And it might be quite a drop, but he could probably find a way to shimmy down, and if he could get out then maybe those slime-like blobs wouldn't eat him alive...
If Yukiko happened to look out the window, she'd find Luke leaning precariously out the window, searching for handholds. It's easy to see he's been in the shadow world for longer--the bleeding gash on his arm and the color drained from his face. Stretching his arm, he's trying to grab on to a decaying fire escape that hangs just out of his reach. Get out get out get out have to get out--]
Come on, just a little bit more...
no subject
But never the less leaving her castle, with a most happiest of sighs, it didn't take the young girl long to notice the trying escape artist.]
