First Snap - [Video - Night time]

[He managed waking up fine, weird pod and all, and even stranger some information about his new place. He doesn't particularly care, he'd been in an 'anywhere but here' kind of situation. His wish is granted, but as he leaves the bay, there's a monster in front of him.]

Whoa! I come to a new place and there's monsters roaming around!

[The screen goes back, stuffed into a pocket most likely and the sound of gunshots, and a bit of a scuffle.

He appears on screen with a huge grin.]

Haha! Victory!

[He hums a fairly familiar tune, at that.]

[Not that he's not enjoying talking to the lovely women, but he is appreciative that this person is not. All of these strangers taking notice of him is pushing at his anxiety somewhat.]

What do you mean?

[He turns around and fires off a round again, making another body hit the ground.]

It's always like this at night where I'm from.

'Xactly what I said - normally, it's pretty quiet at night. Like a normal city.

[ Shrugs. He swings his axe around, and when the creature he's fighting ducks, he slams into its face with his own head. That move seems pretty effective. ]

... That's assumin normal ain't filled with monsters, obviously.

[It's been awhile since 'normal city' has been in the rearview mirror as of late.]

Yeah, I guess. Well, it was like that before we set out, but stuff's changed. I'm just saying I'm ready for it if I need to be!

[He grins, he's been doing it long enough to know he can manage, even if his friends aren't at his side. At least, with daemons.]

I can see that.

[ Stuff has changed - implying that his world was peaceful, once.

Was he pulled out of they could get things resolved, there?

Probably.

Shinjiro would feel frustrated, in his shoes. Well. Would probably feel frustrated with his own situation, if he hadn't died. ]

Though eventually, y'might run out of bullets.

[ Advantage: axe. Even if it required him getting up close and personal with these things. ]

[He grins, at least there's that. He tilts his head.]

Nah, it doesn't run out of bullets.

[At least, his gun doesn't, but that could be because he was tied to Noctis. It probably was. He isn't as frustrated as he could be, Noctis is there and he needs a break for just a little while anyway.]

It's never happened.

Huh.

[ Squints at the video, but a monster tries to use his distraction to gnaw on his arm. Shinjiro casually lops off the monster's head, and then focuses on the ongoing battle. ]

Is it even a real gun?

Or is it, I dunno, some kind of magic thing?

[ He was using it to fight, right? It seemed more ... lethal when shot, than an Evoker was. ]

It's a real gun, I mean it shoots bullets and kills things if that's what you mean.

[He grins, well it's his weapon of choice, weird as that is where he's from.]

I can't do any magic, that's all Noct!

[ Just seemed weird - if it was a real gun, then how ... ?

Well, he didn't have any ground to stand on, when talking about weird guns.

Shrugs, and kicks a random humanoid monster in the groin. ]

Just cause you ain't got magic skills, doesn't mean whoever-Noct-is couldn't've given you a magic gun.

Whatever.

Seems real handy, then. So long as you can aim straight, y'can fight.

[His brow furrows a little bit as he thinks.]

Well kind of, sort of, I mean it's connected to Noct, but not in a super magical way. It's not like magic magic.

[He nods, cheerfully.]

Yep! I have great aim!

If y'say so.

[ If it couldn't be explained by something that looked even vaguely like technology, it was magic. Didn't mean that Shinjiro really understood either of those things.

Smirks, and teases just a little: ] Guess you've gotta be, if you've got nothin backin up that gun.

Can you even throw a punch, kid?

[He shifts back and forth a little.]

Ah, yeah, I mean of course I can!

[He's not as good as Gladio, or Ignis, or even Noct but he does know the basics of what he's doing.]

I just rather fight with a gun, you know?

[ Expression softens a bit, into something more neutral. ]

Yeah, there's a lot which can be said for keepin your distance in a fight.

Safer, probably.

[ Not that he had a ton of experience with that. ]

[Not just anyone can walk in and join the Crownsguard after all.]

Yeah, maybe, I guess.

[Although he doesn't look like he really agrees with that, after all if he's the one being protected, that is way worse. He's not meant to be a drain on the team.]

[ Small frown. He noticed the guy's disquiet. ]

Hey. Some of the most powerful people I fought with work best from a distance.

Oh yeah, I know, I know!

[He rushes quickly, giving his head a shake.]

I'm totally capable!

[He smiles, there see, nothing to worry about. The last thing he wants to do is make someone worry about him.]

[ Nod. The guy seemed really eager to prove himself. Even to a stranger, like him. ]

Yeah, you seem to makin quick work of th' monsters.

[ Even if they were pretty easy to mow down. ]

They're not the worst daemons I've ever seen so, I mean, yeah it's okay.

[He grins and shows off his gun.]

I'm going to get inside eventually.

Daemons? Those are the monsters your world's got?

That's what we call them, yeah. They come out at night usually.

You mean, at sundown? Or at a specific time?

[ Frowns. ]

Least you can get most people t'safety, if they're predictable.

[ That was the one good thing about the Dark Hour. A steady source of chaos. ]

When the sun goes down, and the days are getting shorter.

[Someday soon it will just be night all the time, but that's not the thing to worry about too much.]

They'll stay away from lights too, so people just put big lights up.

[ Shinjiro barely had heard anything about Prompto's world, but he was pretty familiar with end-of-wold scenarios. ]

Anybody know what's causing it?

Yeah, but don't worry, we got this!

[And by we he means Noctis, because his role to play is just to protect him so he can do what needs to be done.]

Hmm.

[ He almost says "hopefully you won't be here long, then, until he remembers. Time stopped for people when they came from their other worlds. Handy, that.

So, instead: ] Good luck with that.

You don't have to worry, Noct is the best!

[He really believes in him, as a best friend should.]

We can't do anything without him, and apparently he's here, so that's great! I can keep doing what I'm supposed to.
