Yes, now she disturbs you by being overly friendly. How does she react when you don't respond well or in the same manner to her friendliness?

[ Yes, yes, he knows he's the only one concerned. That makes it worse. ]

Uh, I don't know, she's been taking walks and stuff it's all weird. I don't know what she's thinking.

So she doesn't become angry or violent over it? Has she hurt you or threatened you? Since you came to this world, that is.

[ Larxene, you are going to be under so much scrutiny. ]

Right now? No. She gets like that when I do stuff like forget to put my dishes in the sink.

[He hums thoughtfully.]

She hasn't hurt me, but since she came here she tried to kill me when we met. [He scoffs.] It was really rude, she used my water against me! [He hums again.] And she's pulled her knives on me a few times.

She's usually mad at me all the time, that's what makes this weird!

It was rude. Right.

[ His voice is back to exasperated now, but he's no less worried for it. More, in fact. Now if only Demyx were here so he could shake him. ]

I feel like we should have a conversation about this in person sometime soon. [ When he can shake him. Or maybe not since Demyx would see nothing wrong with that. Kriff it all. ]

I'd actually like to talk to Larxene, too, do you think she would mind?

Yeah, okay. Well, when we do I'll tell you if she got less weird.

[He hums a little.]

Probably not? I don't know. She talks to people.

Then I'll see about having a chat with her.

[ So maybe this comes out a little bit more grim than intended, but oh well. He is feeling grim. ]

You know you can call me if you have trouble with her, right? Say, if she's angry with you and you'd rather avoid her.

Thanks but she's fine. Even when she's mad, she stops screaming at me eventually.

[He shrugs, he isn't worried.]

That's not how being roommates should work. I have lived most of my life in barracks and then here with Kay and Sonico. Your comrades shouldn't be screaming at you all the time.

But then again, your army had an appalling lack of discipline.

I don't think you can call it an army so much. Armies are like the law right?

All tyrants will claim that they are the law. Besides, I have worked for three different insurgent organisations over the course of my life, I can tell you that no proper rebel group will tolerate infighting. Like I told you before, your organization suffers from bad leadership.

[ Yeah, sorry, your boss is scum in his eyes. ]

[It's one of those moments where what he says probably isn't helping.]

[ Sorry, Demyx, but your boss would have to attain sainthood to regain any standing with Cassian. ]

Well I mean it probably is, I haven't been very good at doing what I should. It's just Lea told me his plans and he'll, now I've become a traitor.

Your commander is useless, you can't betray someone who has betrayed you first.

[ Oh, he's just working himself into greater moral outrage here. ]

You'd be a better superior if you had better role models. I wish my leaders were here, then you'd know the difference.

I just know my Superior. Wait I know I'm not good at it. No one listens to me and I don't get mean so... I could do better. I'm lazy. A bad example.

I doubt anyone else would want me in their Organization.

If I were recruiting for the Rebel Alliance here I would recruit you.

Fear and loyalty are not the same thing. Bad leaders don't understand the difference. Good ones win your loyalty without being feared.

[ He'd never really thought of himself as a good one, but... Well. Hard to do worse. ]

[He's kind of incredulous.]

No you wouldn't! I slack off all the time, ask anyone! My fail record is kinda high outside of my sweet spot. My reports are awful.

I usually deserve being yelled at.

I'm not saying I wouldn't yell or snap at you. Just ask Kay. Strict commanders will do that.

But I know I don't shy away from hard tasks, nor do any of my comrades.

I guess, I don't really know. I haven't really had another commander ever anyway. Just the Superior.

[He tilts his head.]

I get hard tasks all the time, but sometimes I'm just not good at stuff.

[It's a weird hypothetical anyway considering Cassian isn't doing anything like that, but Demyx is pretty sure his performance wouldn't be better under anyone else.]

[ Cassian smiles a little to himself. ]

What I'm trying to say is... You would be a hard task, no doubt about it.

[ But he wouldn't shy away from it. ]

I wish we'd met in my own world.

[ And yet deep down he knows he probably wouldn't have given him a chance there, he'd been so caught up in his own daily grind and horrors that he hadn't been able to see the hardships others faced. He's still not all that good at it, though it's easier with Demyx, who reminds him oddly of Kay just around his reprogramming. ]

You need someone who knows your strengths and weaknesses and gives you tasks you'll be good at.

[He laughs a little bit and offers a little shrug.]

Probably. There's a lot of stuff I'm not that great at, like hand to hand combat. I'm not that strong, you know?

[Well compared to some of his companions, he didn't stand a chance.]

Yeah, maybe. Not being in my world is always nice.

[He thinks for a few minutes.] I'm good at sneaking around, and talking to people. When they need to talk to people, they send me, usually. Magic, I'm pretty good at that. Getting information. That kinda thing.

[ Cassian's face softens as he permits some affection to show in his eyes. ]

Well, that's a start, isn't it? [ The corners of his mouth twitch upwards again. ] That means if we had met in my world, you'd be working with me. In Rebel Intelligence.

[ Or he would be an Imperial, most likely, since that's the easier way to go about life. But Cassian doesn't want to think about that. Besides, Bodhi deserted and so did many others. ]

Getting information from people is an important skill, as is blending in. It takes long and hard training for many operatives.

Yeah, I guess so! [It's possible he could be better at other aspects, if he had any motivation at all to improve himself. He didn't really.]

Huh, cool, I don't know anything about your world though, I've never been there.

[He tilts his head a bit. Training?]

I guess, but I've always been pretty good at that. People never had a hard time talking to me, when I had to talk to them. [He's naturally inclined to be chatty and some people seem to find that comforting when speaking to someone, but that doesn't mean he can' be mean, he certainly can. It depends on what the situation calls for.]

You're good at conversation, yes. I have no doubt you're good at getting information from people, too.

[ He puts even Cassian at ease with his manner, so... ]

It's a skill, trust me. You either have it naturally or you have to work hard to acquire it. I had to work hard for it. I'm not naturally good at socializing, but a recruiter has to be able to win people over. Or, you know, encourage them. If there's need for that.

[ In some ways maybe their jobs are similar. ]
