It's honesty hour again, Gennies! We can all be honest (or honestly have fun) and not have to worry about what anyone else thinks when our identities aren't tied to what we're saying, so only comment anonymously! Rules:

1. Only reply with anonymous text! If you say something logged in, I'll freeze the thread and put a black market bounty on your head for ruining everyone's fun. Depending on how annoying you are about it, we'll see what the bounty is for- a mugger or a hitman or something in between. So play nice.

2. Put thread topics in the subject line. Don't get off topic, if you want to talk about something else start a new thread. I'll throw a few discussion topics up, but you can feel free to bring up your own, namedrop people to talk about them, whatever you want.

3. If you bring up personal problems don't whine when people give you answers you don't like.

I didn't say processing information, I said evolution. The foundation of everything that's considered alive. The capacity to take experience, or outside influences and change.

Define a soul. How do you know the non-human residents don't have them?

Don't mistake non-human as not being alive.

again - can't really dig into it if i'm staying anonymous, but people have a certain means of expressing their soul where i'm from. it manifests. i've seen hundreds of robots mowed down, not one with that capability.

people like to humanize and grow attached to things that AREN'T meant to act like people, let alone a hunk of metal shaped like a person. don't get duped into seeing life where it isn't.

I think I can probably make my first point to point out you are -not- at home, meaning you don't know if robots here have sentience or souls or anything like that.

I didn't say anything about inanimate objects, and they are not equated with robots.

Robots, for one thing, are animate objects, and properly constructed have programming designed to evolve and change through outside influence. Now, at what point is it not life? Because taking ten of the non-human residents and exposing them to the same outside influence, I would bet that they would all react diffrently.

Not all artificial intelligence is contained in robots either, if you follow science fiction at all, but that doesn't mean it's not equally adaptable and able to evolve.

Your clinging to only organic life is fairly closed-minded. Why does something being alive require a soul? Do trees have souls?
