1st Portion | [Video]

[The first thing Rey did was make certain she still had all her belongings. She had her staff, the sacred Jedi texts, her bag, a few stale rations sunk to the bottom--and the hilt of the Skywalker lightsaber, severed in half.

She kept that well buried.

It didn't take her long to figure out how her newfound device worked, and she switched on the video feed, squinting skeptically into the camera.]

This doesn't look like anyplace I've ever been before. [Though that doesn't exactly narrow it down.] And nothing in this pamphlet indicates that the war is over or that it even existed.

[She lowers her eyes, giving pause before pressing onward--there was no other way to go, and if she were to be of any use to anyone, she'd have to be practical and tend to her immediate needs.]

I was informed that I would need to find a place to stay, and a means to earn my room and board. I'd rather go off any leads rather than wander about aimlessly, so if you've the need of someone good with airships or droids, even computers and the like--I've a lot of hands-on experience. I'm also an adequate pilot, if that's something that's useful here.

[Fixing the lightsaber would have to wait.]

Ah I see. I guess that makes sense, from a cultural standpoint.

Force users?

Sorry, hadn't heard of it. My world is a bit different, with it's Quirks instead of your Force.

Maybe it just doesn't exist in a fashion that people on my world know about?

[he doesn't. He does however have several towns and cities named after places in your world Rey.]

[here's a subject he's well versed in, and he starts to explain.]

Quirks began years ago, in a city in China when a baby glowed with a brilliant light. Since then, people began to develop powers, quirks, or rather superpowers of their own, ranging from little things such as making things come to them, or breathing fire, to bigger ones such as speed, super strength or the ability to explode things through your sweat.

Over time, and four generations later, these Quirks, numerous as they are, have expanded across the world and about 80% of humanity, and some animals in rare cases, have gained a Quirk.

The remaining 20% of people tend not to have powers, due to a genetic difference in their body, indicated by a toe joint that is usually gone by birth. Of course that's just the going theory of why not everyone has a Quirk on my world, but it's said that if Quirks hadn't appeared, we'd be in space by now.

And not every Quirk is suited for hero work. Some people get licensed to use it for normal stuff, like construction, water work, office work and the like. By usual standards, the Police actually are Quirkless by far, and the Heroes work with the Police in their duties as Civil Servants.

Not really. For the most part, it's just an acceptance of being different, and that's fine. Sure there's some kids who pick on others for being Quirkless [Like Izuku and Bakugou] but the cases are few in between.

Also, due to the new rules, you're not allowed to use your Quirk in public without being licensed to do so. Otherwise there's a possible big fine, and depending on how severe it is, like stealing from an ATM with say a liquid quirk, you're looking at some jail time.

Some do, don't get me wrong. There are some who abuse their powers for their own benefit and that's when we toe the line into villainy, especially if it's a Quirk meant for darker purposes.

If anything however, the ones with powers are the more regulated, to prevent them from ruling over the Quirkless and those with Quirks that are not suitable for fighting back as a hero.

Sometimes it feels like it. The villains have grown bolder in the last few months. We're worried they will stage another major incident.
