WHAT : Bustlin' about with extra moneys in the pocket. Also getting busted by Natsu for possessions of dragon plushies.

[ After successfully Not-Tomb Raiding and getting payment for the most recent job (and Lucy hoped that the herb was actually going to work for that poor girl) it was time to do some well earned shopping. Not alone though, Neveren, the youngest member of Fairy Tail (kinda) was accompanying her. Her first stop is picking up some cooler clothing for herself and the kids since Regina was busy on a job herself. Next she stopped at a toy store, where she picked up something for him and herself. Her last stop was at the ice cream shoppe before heading back to Feyren to the guild. ]

[ OOC Open CR, come hang out with Lucy and her not!son! ]

[ Maybe not to the extent that he did, but.. she knew enough that being without him was...unfathomable. He was her precious.. ]

Hey... you haven't lost any...anything... [ Forgetting the momentary fluster, she got to her feet and moved over to sit next to him on the bed, hesitantly reaching out to rest an arm around him. His precious treasures were still here. ]

What's precious to you - it's still here. [ And so is she. Though she can't bring herself to say that, suddenly locking her gaze on her right hand. ahem. Y-es. Don't think about losing precious future Lucy's. Er. Treasures. Th.. that's what he worried about right? ]

[He doesn't wish that kind of experience on anyone especially not on her.]

Mmm. Yeah I guess. It's still scary. How easily that happened once. The thought of it happening again...

[He drops the plushie's tail and just lowers his head a little unable to look Lucy in the eye.]

It won't.

[ She didn't want to think of it happening - to either of them. Being able to keep on living, and going on adventures together was what made her happiest. BUT, more important than those selfish thoughts - she needed to do something to cheer him up. OR not so much cheer him as reassure him. ]

Hey, Natsu, come on, look at me. [ It was just wrong seeing him so down. But if he wouldn't look at her, she'd just have to make him look at her. ]

[See this is why he's usually one to take the straightest approach. Because when he starts thinking and counting in the consequences, he becomes afraid. Especially when something dear to him is at stake.]

I...

[She telling him to look at her. HE doesn't want to worry her but doesn't want to go against her wishes either.]

[ No no no, no being afraid. And it was a little too late to not worry her! She was already worried - she didn't like to see him like this. She reached up with the arm that wasn't around him to brush her fingers against his cheek. ]

Natsu... look at me? Please?

[The fact that she got to see him like this was even more proof of how important she was. How he could show the full extent of how he felt when in her presence]

Mmm I don't think...that's a good idea right now. I think this little guy would be better for you.

[He moves the plushie over towards Lucy.]

[ And she did love being able to see so many sides of him, to know him so well. But she couldn't stand to see him upset, or afraid either. He was her rock, her support when she was afraid - the least she could do was be the same for him. She dropped her hand from his face in surprise when he moved the plushie towards her. She left her hand rest against it for a second, glancing towards him. ]

... I don't agree. That's..

[ The one better for her - Sleeping with the little guy sure, giving squishy hugs of course - but... she leaned against his side, putting the plushie next to her. HE might not think it was a good idea to look at her for some reason, but.. she slipped her other arm around him. ]

I'm still here, Natsu.

[ She wouldn't leave him for anything in the world. And certainly not while he was troubled. He'd need a prybar to get her away. ]

[He doesn't move until he's suddenly in her arms moment when his whole body tenses up for a split second before slowly relaxing into the hold. He can't really say anything against that. He's being ridiculous he knows that as well.]

I know. I know you are. Your scent, the feeling of your arms. That warmth. It's all here.

[Honestly the words are right there in the open the words he could use to identify why he feels this way. So easy and within reach but he just can't say them yet.]

[ It was the same for her. It'd be easy to say the words. She could! But she was balking when it actually came to saying the words out loud. Wanting to tell him just how much he meant to her and... ]

... I'm not going anywhere.

[ In the near future or right now, she just felt he needed the warmth of her presence right now. And.well.. ]

[That warmth of her embrace seems to do the trick and after a while she'd feel him returning it, gently and light.]

Yeah. Not without me you're not.

[Honestly when did she become so adept at making him open up like this?]

[ She's not sure, but she's glad for it. Also if she ever thought about it it would probably fluster her to think of how many times she'd be just comfortably close to him like this - and more - when she wasn't overthinking things. Because she was actually quite fine with him returning the hug, relaxing against his side and absently linking her fingers together around him. Her most important person. ]

Good. Because..I...

[ She risked a glance up towards him from her cozy and warm spot, then glanced away again. Whatever she was going to say is quickly switched out for something else. ]

I want to be by your side, always.

[Another close shave and this time only with the plushie as a witness. Well it didn't matter now. Natsu felt the dark clouds in his mind slowly clearing the more he immersed himself in Lucy's scent and warmth, even the sound of her voice.]

I'll keep you to that you know.

[He actually manages to sound a bit more cheerful like his old self but he's not about to deny this moment happened. He's also not pulling away or letting her go just yet.]

That's okay. I don't mind.

[ She smiled to herself, hearing the more cheerful sound of his voice, relieved. ]

I wouldn't expect anything else. [ Not pulling away or letting go? Okay, she'll just stay put because she doesn't ..really want to let go or pull away yet either. ]

Good. Though I still wish I could take this little guy's place at night.

[Speaking of the plushie again and the fact that he longs for his nights sleeping in the same bed with Lucy.]

[ She sighs a little. Darn Erza and her strict No-Boys in the girls dorms after hours rule. Oh well. She couldn't fuss about them being in the room during the day! No rule breaking there. She let her head rest against his shoulder, her glance drifting towards the plushie. ]

Mm... yeah, so do I.

[ Erm. Backpedal? ]

I mean... it's.. not like Erza would have any problem with me sleeping with a plushie. [ Even if she would rather be sleeping with him. ]

Yeah he's got the advantage in that regard.

[He chuckles lightly but buries his nose into Lucy's collar and breathes in deeply filling his lungs with her scent.]

You could.. borrow one of my pillows for a while. If it helps. . .

[ Aand she makes an involuntary squeak, not sure if it was surprise or something else that caused the noise. Possibly a whole lot of things. But she has to stifle a giggle - it might be due to her proximity to him, or just nervous relief, but it almost tickled when he breathed in her scent that way. Yet she couldn't bring herself to chastise him for it - why would she? She knows how much it set him at ease, ticklish or not. And given their conversation, she was giving him a little extra leeway in the matter.

Just don't notice her trying not to giggle. ]

Asking him not to notice isn't going to work. Not when he's actually trying to distract her just as much now that he's slightly more cheerful.]

Mmmm only if you share it with me.

[ Drat! Well at least she clears her throat a little, swallowing back a chuckle herself, teasing lightly. ]

Lending you my pillow doesn't count as sharing?

[ She's happy he's in a better mood. Now she can go right back to blushing, huzzah! ]

[Blushing beats fretting and sinking into depression!]

Mmmmm nope. Not unless you've used it for a few months already. You gotta be there.

[ Yes it does! She'll take it over a depressed Natsu anytime. ]

Well there's not a lot either of us can do about that, as long as Erza has that ruling.

[ ... well she didn't say anything about them relaxing on the bed during the day tho- wait, What is she even THINKING. Stop that. ]

[What are THEY thinking? Because the next thing to come from Natsu's mouth is something he's considered for a while.]

Maybe I should just build a house on the grounds like I did with Happy...

[Nesting instincts or a logical conclusion. She can be the judge of that.]

[ Wait. Wait. Wh..what? ]

A...a house?

[ Because Erza won't let them sleep in the same bed together, or for a different reason? ... wait if it was because of the bed thing... there'd be no convincing anyone that she and Natsu were "just friends" and... okay even SHE knew they were more than "friends" ..sort of. Juvia alone... well if Erza caught wind of what Juvia thought while they were still living in the guild they'd be dead meat. ]

[Did he stutter? He's pretty sure he didn't.]

Yeah. If that's what it'll take I'll do it.

[Now there's a positive goal for the future.]

[ Noo, she'll do all the stuttering for him. ]

I..w..wait a second .. if... if you do that...

[ They will be able to sleep in the same bed without any fuss from Erza but... ]
