WHERE: Genessia City Auditorium
NOTES: There will be two main threads: Men's Competition and Women's Competition. Beneath that there will be three subthreads for each event: Swimsuit Competition, Talent Show, and Evening Wear/Interview. Participants, comment under each of these events with your character's entered name. In the body of the comment, put the MC's introduction and a description of what your character does. Judges, once a character's intro to each event is posted, comment with your character's reaction and score. For the interview, each judge asks one question to which the participant replies. The score is then tallied accordingly.

Swimsuit: 10 points
Talent: 10 points
Interview: 20 points (10 for appearance, 10 for the interview)

Participants also get to cast their votes at the end for Mr. and Miss Congeniality, so there will be one extra comment for that.


Genessia City might have been small in overall area, but it was also compact. The turnout for the pageant was immense, and the auditorium was abuzz with voices as people filtered into the aisles to take their seats. Some were nicely dressed. Others came with painted faces and big signs meant to root on their favorite participants. Catchy pop music filtered through the speakers, until it was time at last for the main event. The lights dimmed, and spotlights swam up to the red velvet curtains, which parted for the Master of Ceremonies. He greeted the cheering crowds with a hearty wave, then bowed to the judges who were seated comfortably on the stage's right.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" he announced in a clear tenor. "It is my honor and pleasure to welcome you all to Genessia City's very first beauty pageant! The winners crowned tonight will hold their title for a full year, and receive a very special, very rare charm. Please put your hands together for our entries: LADIES FIRST!"

The crowd, accordingly, went nuts.

[battler had been thinking of a question for her ever since that talent competition. it needed to be a good one, something that would definitely reflect who she is! he had a hand on his chin, his gaze locked on the table in front of him.]

Hmm... Inoue-san... my question for you is, do you think that a heart could be mended after it has been totally shattered? And I mean- broken up enough that there's barely any trace of finding the shards.

[Orihime hesitates. Her first thought, of course, is of Ulquiorra, a being that had lost his heart. He'd disintegrated right before her eyes, scattered so thoroughly that she couldn't find even a speck of him. But she'd met him again, had snowball fights with him, and saw him struggle to understand. She's seen people lose a lot, and still be able to give of themselves to others who needed it. So although she hesitates at first, when she answers, it's with a gentle conviction.]

I think the heart is very powerful. A person's ability to love others can inspire the weak to be strong, and give hope to those who have lost everything.

[She holds the microphone tightly in both hands, her gaze falling to the stage as she smiles quietly.]

But...I also think it's okay if a broken heart doesn't always heal completely. Sometimes people are lucky enough to find another person they can care for with all of their being. And sometimes, just loving the one person they lost is enough. They might not want to heal, because they're afraid of replacing someone who was more special to them than anyone else in the world. So...

[She looks up at the judges.]

Whether someone can heal from that terrible pain, or choose to pick up the pieces and keep them close along with their cherished memories, I think it's wonderful that they cared enough about someone else to risk being hurt in the first place.

[ah... those words of her hit home, they really do. of course when he asked this question he also had himself in mind, so what she said just.... wow. the women he's seen in his life have been like this, shattered and have lashed out instead of picking up those pieces. of course, it was mostly him that ended up hurting them... even though he hadn't meant it at all.]

[His tone is so different from the awesome news he's announcing that she doesn't realize he just gave her a perfect score for several moments. He looks so...lost. Maybe she should talk to him after this, she suspects his question might have a more personal significance than she realized.]
