PSA from the Attleton office - text

[ Oh look Genessia, it's another one of these PSA's from the Attleton Guardian's office, sent over the network and read by Attleton's local radio and TV stations. ]

1. We are aware of the problem of ducks regularly causing traffic jams on Main Street. We are taking it seriously. Nevertheless, I have to ask Attleton's animal lovers to stop calling us with alarmist reports of "There are innocents about to be murdered by death machines right here on Main Street!"

2. Please stop filing charges against the wild Spearows that were stealing food in Attleton during the annual pokemon visit. We issued a bounty on them and the ones who weren't apprehended are long gone. No, we can't bring them back so Judge Judith can put them on trial on court TV.

3. If they wish, Deputies will be given the opportunity to attend classes in Criminal Justice at Attleton University as workload permits.

4. The Attleton Guardian's office is looking to fill a Deputy position.

- Volunteer position: unpaid
- Full-time (with allowances made in scheduling for a second paid job)
- Combat skills necessary, preferably capable fighter even without using magic or supernatural powers
- Experience in law enforcement, military or similar preferred
- Out-of-town candidates welcome but must be willing to move to Attleton
- Must be capable of following orders and working in a team, including work with pokemon
- Not afraid of ducks

I just said hi, and asked him why he was there and he said he was worried about the ducks, so I moved the ducks and they're all safe.

[Is that what he should have done?]

[ He shakes his head. ]

Never mind. Good job. Yes. You did well.

[ Ummmm and he should probably not let so baffled, Demyx is bound to take that the wrong way. ]

I knew you would handle it well.

[Not at all Cassian, he's taken it exactly as it's meant, but don't worry - no one else has faith in him either. He's used to it.]

Sure, yeah, well it was fine. And the ducks like music!

[It was a Pied Piper situation.]

Well, that's one way to go about it.

[ You'll have to forgive him, he's still baffled that someone was able to tame Marco. ]

Ah. Well. Interview questions. [ He clears his throat. ] Right. Right. This is still an interview. Did you ever consider about the extra workload of needing to keep a paying job while you work for the Guardian's office?

[ Is this one he's asked before? He's not sure anymore. But. Still frazzled. ]

[At least he's honest and he looks like he's thinking about it for a moment.]

Okay, well it's probably fine 'cause I make my own hours anyway. I just play music for money.

Alright, because I can't have you slacking off on this job, it's too important. I can work with your hours but if you get it there will be no favoritism. It's not me being mean to you being fair to my other Deputies.

[He is pretty good at not giving a reaction, or betraying what he's thinking unless he wants someone to know, so he doesn't change his expression much.]

I know it's important.

[captain_by_the_book]

Hmm...

[ That lack of expression is slightly worrisome, he scrutinizes him with a small frown. ]

Good. Because I would hate for this to lead to a grudge between us.

[Demyx blinks.]

I don't really hold grudges, so it wouldn't.

[He doesn't want to admit that he doesn't want to disappoint Cassian, and he doesn't want to admit that he's trying.It'll be easier to shrug it off if he isn't picked.]

Well, that's good, but I more meant...

[ He frowns a little, how do you even put that into words? ]

I can be harsh as a commanding officer, if I choose you. And if I don't it's not a choice against you, it's a choice for other skills.

[He just looks at him. Harsh? He highly doubts it.]

You mean, you'd pick someone else because they're better suited. I know.

[It doesn't mean he'll like it, or be happy about it, but he knows.]

[ Well, harsh by Rebel Alliance standards. Not harsh at all by Nobody standards. ]

Alright. Good. That's all I wanted to have cleared up.

[ He gives a little nod. ]

Yeah I know. [He grins a little, but hesitates for a moment.]

[Yeah, that sounds dumb so he hangs up but, he figured he should say something.]
