1st Despair // Video/action
Video
[The feed opens to a shot of the Bay area, hologram fading having delivered its message with the racks of maps and literature clearly visible. It then tracks as the person broadcasting gives up on the Bay area and heads out into Genessia proper, and soon enough a young woman's voice provides the soundtrack alongside the general sounds of the city.]
Congratulations, Genessia. I can honestly, one hundred percent, truly say that I did not see this one coming. Denying me my own death, that takes some pretty incredible skills and I'd just love to know exactly who I have to thank for that.
[It's here that the woman stops in her stride, shop window in front of her - and thus is reflected the face of one Junko Enoshima, indistinct for the way the light hits but she either doesn't notice or doesn't care.]
And don't worry. I promise I won't waste this second chance I've been given. That really would be a waste, right?
Action
[Junko's found her way to one of Genessia's parks, and now stretches out on a bench that lets her watch the goings-on around her. Nothing like learning the people to learn a city, after all, and in a place where she doesn't know anyone it's all the more important that she figure out who might be useful to her sooner rather than later.
Of course, she can't just sit and watch, that would be boring. So occasionally, when people are walking past while seemingly not paying attention, Junko will stretch and extend her leg to try to trip them, curious to see if they'll notice in time or pay the price for their lack of attention. Or if she spots someone with a pet that has the energy, Junko will find a stick or something nearby to throw to see how pet and owner will react.
And should anyone just happen to notice the young woman sitting by herself and come over to talk, regardless of intentions? She'll lean forward, deliberately tugging down her shirt to best display her cleavage while simultaneously putting on the most innocent face and tone she can muster.]
Well, I am new around here. Did you notice and come to see if I needed help?
[All the while, the way she moves implies they came over for less savoury reasons, regardless of who they are.]

[Which isn't to say Junko's not curious about who Weiss is, because she's obviously important and influential so why wouldn't Junko want to say hello?]
Still, you shouldn't talk yourself down. Unless you've spent the entire time you've been here with your eyes and ears closed.

[She has a point. Uai just doesn't want to waste his time saying something she might already know.]
It seems to be the case that there's a barrier around these cities, preventing us from leaving. Furthermore, we know some sort of spirit, or spirits, are involved in maintaining the barrier. I haven't heard of how they could be used to get us home yet.
no subject
[Though it would probably apply more to the Hope's Peak Directors than any of the students, really.]
Well, maybe we just talk real nice to them. Or, more likely, they'll want something in return.

I can't imagine them accidentally bringing so many people here either. They seem to have a system in place to take care of us and make us comfortable, so I believe it's safe to assume our being here is intentional and meant to be long term.
[He catches himself rambling, so stops abruptly.] Sorry.

[Or maybe she's just incredibly cynical but in her experience, this level of generosity rarely came without strings attached.
Now she just needs to know where to pluck...]
Still, if they don't tell us what that is then there's not much we can do.

[Uai pauses, having almost started a tangent again... then decides to go ahead with it. Junko seems smart and not naive, so bouncing ideas at her doesn't seem like such a waste. It may actually be productive.]
It would be one thing to gamble, and summon thousands of people in search of one particular power... But then, why take such good care of the ones who don't have that power? Unless it's the case that we are all providing something by being here. For example, some sort of foreign energy or magic. Or simply the fact that we all seem to have souls.
no subject
[And she knows some people would struggle with anything more involved than showing up and existing. Why bother with them unless there's something even they contribute.]
Well, whatever. If they're anything like the usual higher-ups I've dealt with they're not as smart as they think they are. They're bound to let something slip sooner or later.
no subject
And even if they don't mess up, the way they successfully carry out their whatever should be telling. We just need to keep an eye on the situation...
Sorry for lying to you about not observing anything here. You're not a waste of time after all!
no subject
[She sounds more impressed than offended. It's been a lot nicer than some of the tests she's presented to people.]
But about the rest. They'll mess up somewhere. I've never met an organisation without a few cracks, it's just a case of figuring out where they are.
[And then figuring out how to make best use of them, of course.]
no subject
[There could have been a lot of harm.]
So you have experience with these situations? Sorry to hear it. Unless, you find taking down organizations and solving their mysteries to be fun?
no subject
[She can't promise no harm. She likes to save the worst despair for the people she likes, after all.]
I guess you could say that. Keeps things interesting, which is better than the alternative.
[Well, maybe. Bored or occupied, the end result is usually the same.]
no subject
Well! From now on, I suppose it’s worth keeping you in the loop about anything I learn. No pressure to share the same courteously. We just met, after all... and I apparently I have no manners. My name is Uai, by the way. [Like “Why.”]
no subject
[She sounds it out, as though testing it.]
Well, Uai, if I find anything interesting and I'm in a mood to share I know where to come. And if you find anything, Junko Enoshima's the name you want.
[Which won't always be the name assigned to her device because she's fickle like that. But it's a start.]
no subject
Here's hoping we cross paths again soon.
no subject
[And no she is not repeating the H word.]
no subject
[And with that, he hangs up. Rude, man.]
