[The video feed clicks on to reveal a cloaked and hooded figure speaking, doing their best to keep their face hidden. From the sound of the voice it's probably female, but it's a bit gruff and growling so it's hard to tell.]

It has been some time since I've worn this form, or last been to this place. I made some enemies and some... acquaintances the last time I was here, but I do not wish to jump to any conclusions. I know people come and go rather readily here, but since the introduction with Miss Schnee and the comm device seem to be the same, I would like to ask if Professor Ozpin is still here.

[He at least, seemed like he would make a trustworthy ally.]

I would also ask if the species name Laguz means anything to any of you. In the meantime I might be looking for work as a bodyguard, hunter, or tracker, if anyone needs such things.

[Leanne in robes during the hottest part of the day. She was sipping a glass of wine, shivering just a little bit.]

So many people seem to think it is hot outside today. I don't know why I am so cold.

[It was confusing to her as to why she was so cold.]

I heard there was a beach party. I don't know if I should go, I don't have a proper outfit and I am not sure if Darling is desiring to go. But it could be fun, to enjoy the beach.

[But she is not sure if she wants to go and show off her scars.]

( confusion is an understatement. one moment he's at ike's side, dutifully listening to his daily complaints regarding nobles and their "stupid, bloated faces," and then next he's woken in some coffin structure, with a device he can't make heads or tails of, ugly jewelry, and currency he has never seen.

the see-through woman outside who attempts some form of...explanation, is also one he carries no recognition towards. soren barely listens to a fourth of what she tells him because he's very distracted by repeatedly sticking his hand through her while she speaks. this is some high-level magic, where is the actual body?

anyway, he does hear the word kidnap and that is. certainly a problem. with the war ended, he's not sure who would be interested in kidnapping him, but certain scenarios are favorable compared to others - for instance, he'd at least like to know he isn't in daein. the architecture suggests otherwise, but...

he happens upon someone in his cautious wandering, and though their clothing looks strange, he can denote that they seem to be a civilian. let's approach. )

You there ( off to a great start!!! ) do you know where I could find the nearest library? Or inform me as to what faction of the continent we're in?

( the buildings are large and the technology is advanced...overly advanced, but uh- )

Begnion, perhaps?

(II) [Voice]

( soren prides himself on his intelligence, but figuring out the tiny device he woke up with takes him a far longer time than he'd care to admit. he manages, somehow, to access the least invasive method. he'd rather not have his face plastered all over potential enemy territory, thanks. )

I'm not sure what this is, but if I am using it correctly and others are hearing my words, then I ask that anyone with information on the whereabouts of the Greil Mercenaries contact me directly and immediately.

( he pauses for a moment, studying the device in his hand before bringing it slightly closer to his face. then, in a much softer, almost pleading tone: )

Ike, if you can hear this...please find me.

[It isn't long before this video gets started. It's obvious that the ice fairy in view has done this before. She smiles slightly before waving.]

Hi everyone. I know I haven't shown up on this yet so this is Cirno Knight saying hello! I've been here a little while but even then..I gotta question to ask.

[The teenage looking girl glances about before slumping a bit, a frown crossing her face.]

I can't decide on what to do. I used to go to Middle school back where I got pulled from so I dunno if there is a school I can go to here or is there even a job that will take me.

Also..if you know of Genskyo..Um...hi?

[The feed clicks on, and Nephenee's waving at the camera. She seems much more energetic today than before, but still seems to fidget with her ring or hair at points as she talks.]

Hey, y'all! Uh, so question for folks. Ah... [She rubs the back of her neck a little sheepishly, chuckling.] Ah mighta gone through the chocolate Ah had on me when Ah got pulled in, an'..well, this gal needs her chocolate!

Normally Ah'd try to make my own but Ah don't got any o'my bakin' or candy-makin' supplies on me. An'...well, Ah tried some from the corner store...

[Her gaze shifts to the side as she grimaces.]

Ah...don't recommend it. Way too sweet.

[She goes back to a small smile.]

Anypo-, er anyone know a good place where Ah can get some more? The darker the better...

Video

[The feed opens to a shot of the Bay area, hologram fading having delivered its message with the racks of maps and literature clearly visible. It then tracks as the person broadcasting gives up on the Bay area and heads out into Genessia proper, and soon enough a young woman's voice provides the soundtrack alongside the general sounds of the city.]

Congratulations, Genessia. I can honestly, one hundred percent, truly say that I did not see this one coming. Denying me my own death, that takes some pretty incredible skills and I'd just love to know exactly who I have to thank for that.

[It's here that the woman stops in her stride, shop window in front of her - and thus is reflected the face of one Junko Enoshima, indistinct for the way the light hits but she either doesn't notice or doesn't care.]

And don't worry. I promise I won't waste this second chance I've been given. That really would be a waste, right?

Action

[Junko's found her way to one of Genessia's parks, and now stretches out on a bench that lets her watch the goings-on around her. Nothing like learning the people to learn a city, after all, and in a place where she doesn't know anyone it's all the more important that she figure out who might be useful to her sooner rather than later.

Of course, she can't just sit and watch, that would be boring. So occasionally, when people are walking past while seemingly not paying attention, Junko will stretch and extend her leg to try to trip them, curious to see if they'll notice in time or pay the price for their lack of attention. Or if she spots someone with a pet that has the energy, Junko will find a stick or something nearby to throw to see how pet and owner will react.

And should anyone just happen to notice the young woman sitting by herself and come over to talk, regardless of intentions? She'll lean forward, deliberately tugging down her shirt to best display her cleavage while simultaneously putting on the most innocent face and tone she can muster.]

Well, I am new around here. Did you notice and come to see if I needed help?

[All the while, the way she moves implies they came over for less savoury reasons, regardless of who they are.]

[So Nephenee has been meaning to make a post to introduce herself. She really has! But, well, the Sentinel tends to hole up and be shy when she's in an unfamiliar area, and added to the fact her first wedding anniversary was the 11th, she's been...not wanting to talk to a lot of people, beyond Leanne and maybe Dove and a few others.

After a few days to mope about that, Nephenee's gotten tired of said moping, and finally decided to say hello to people! So here's an awfully tall woman sitting on the edge of a bed with green hair spilling out from under a blue billed-hat, in a dark sapphire blue dress that, even below knee-length, is still framing a pair of very nice, muscley legs. The lovely image is in stark contrast to the lance on the bed, silver shining in the light coming in through the window. When she finally speaks after adjusting things with the camera, it's with a strong country accent that's warm and friendly.]

So, been here for a bit, but jus' now got 'round to introducin' myself. Apologies, kinda had some stuff to take care of.

[Perhaps that's a bit of an understatement. Regardless, she smiles, even if it doesn't quite reach her eyes. It's a little bit of a sad smile, even as she rubs at a tattoo of rowan berries right above her elbow.]

My name's Nephenee Knight, Sentinel of Tellius an' Princess o'Compassion in Equestria. But no one needs to treat me special 'cause o'that. Ah've been a farmer an' soldier far longer.

This..ain't my first rodeo, gettin' tugged into another world. So Ah'm a lil' used to this, but Ah do got some questions. Ah'm afraid brochures an' holograms only answer so much.

[There's no telling how old those are, either, or if they've ever been updated.]

One: How long folks been gettin' brought here?
Two: Has there been any communication between folks an'..Ah dunno, an entity outside that barrier? Like signs or maybe weird writing in places?

Ah'm also lookin' for trainin' buddies. Ah'm best versed in lancework, but Ah've learned swords an' axes an' hand-to-hand an' some others, too.

Ah need a place to work, too...Ah can do a buncha stuff, so Ah'm not picky. 'Slong as Ah can afford a roof over my head an' food an' clothes, Ah'm good. So if got a lead on that, Ah'd appreciate it.

An' if anyone knows where can Ah get a tattoo touched up...that'd be nice.

Oh, an'...if anyone sees either of these two, let 'em know Nephenee's here.

[And she holds up a small smartphone not entirely different than the one she's using for the video, and there's a picture of her with a tall, handsome man with long black hair and striking green eyes wrapping an arm around her waist, and a small blue-haired fairy in front of them both, grinning brightly. They're all smiling, actually, clearly very happy together.

There's an edge of sadness to her voice now as she speaks.]

...Bein' apart from family's hard, ain't it?

[And just before she can get too upset, she quickly ends the feed.

Gods, she misses them.]

[Action]

It is not the first time she's woken up in a strange place, with no explanation. Usually there's chains or cages involved, one time it was even a large glass jar hooked up to a cobble of science and sorcery (don't ask), but this is pretty unique. She's never been given a gift before.

She is very very skeptical of the box. She spends time examining it before opening it. (Traps are a thing) Everything inside is weird and confusing! She glances over the pamphlet that explains...half of nothing really. The necklace gets a dubious look. It's nice to look at, with it's prominent green gemstone, but she's not putting it on until she's absolutely certain it's not cursed. She'll hold onto it though, certainly.

The illusionary woman is...interesting. Syeira half listens, while circling it. She sticks her hand through it, surprised it doesn't dissipate.

"-many people stop listening just about now..."

Oh, oops. She...hadn't listened yet. Not really. So she starts, slightly begrudging the accusation that she'd just walk off and not take the information on offer. Oh no, she stands there through the whole thing, making commentary back to the illusion.

"Anyone who has a pendant like this one and the one you should've received upon waking up was also kidnapped."

"Kidnapped? By who?...... You're not going to say by who, or what?...... I really think that you're skipping over a very important subject here."

"The only known way home is out of our control, but before you start running off in a panic?"

"I don't panic"

" You should know that this place is relatively safe-"

"What do you mean by 'relatively'?"

"...there's an impending threat outside of the barrier-"

"What barrier? What threat?..............Seriously? Why are you breezing past this?"

She heaves a sigh, realizing exactly what she's doing.

"I'm talking to an illusion. I'm about to yell at an illusion. This is not worth it."

She still intends to listen all the way through. Just to prove to this non-living, permanent illusion, that she isn't someone, who just walks off and complains later.

She'll stand here and complain now, thank you very much.

[Syeira's tech skill level is the equivalent of your 98 year old grandma, who for years still talks to your voicemail, like you've answered the phone. She's found a spot to just sit down, and mess with it. That spot seems to be on some sidewalk, possibly in an alleyway, so she's not on the main thoroughfare. She has the pamphlet with instructions, fully opened, with the 'phone' in her lap.

So the first thing anyone sees is a view of her from under her chin, so it's mostly a lot of deep, blood-red curls, and fully unfolded paper. She's reading out loud.
]

"You can broadcast-" Broad cast? Cast what? It's a glass rectangle, not a fishing pole. I don't-

[Clearly the turning on of the video was pure chance, because she doesn't understand half of what she's reading. She's also poked it way too hard, several times, and is lucky she hasn't broken it.]

Is it a spell? This doesn't make any sense. What even-?

[The pamphlet is moved into her lap, and now the only thing that can be seen is faint light through heavy paper. She's still talking to herself.]

(ooc: I have a preference for prose over brackets for actiony things, since I tag from mobile very often. If someone would like to action off the Video post, that is totally fine!!)

[The camera on Shuri's phone flips on, and she centers it on her face, flashing a quick grin. She looks like a teenage girl, her hair up in a bun and her clothes futuristic and fashionable, and her accent sounding like this.]

I suppose I can deal with a - [She uses finger quotes around this word.] - "smart" phone for now, but it seems like your phone shouldn't have to bring up its intelligence, like it's compensating for something.

[Okay, she'll stop. She gets serious.]

Anyway, this is probably the weirdest thing that's happened to me. And that's saying something. I can tell you, I am incredibly unhappy. [She points at the camera with a frown.] It's a stupid move to kidnap a princess. Just saying.

But I will do my part. First, I have questions. What are the modes of transportation here? Are there any companies or labs that work with technology? And is it required to go to school if you're a very mature teen? Asking for a friend.

[A pause, and then:] Also, message me if the word 'vibranium' means something to you. Or the name 'T'Challa'.

[A young lady appears on screen, the background being a pretty bed covered in stuffed animals.

She had a question on her mind, something only curious about and she can't remember if she got an answer to it.]

I've been curious. Would someone be able to use magic normally denied to them if they had some sort of catalyst? Like a relic with a spell written inside?

I want to learn more beneficial schools of magic at my new school, or as extra curricular activities.

 Well...

*Here is Faye again, eyes bright and focused now that she isn't blind anymore. She still doesn't look entirely happy, but when does she ever?*

Thank whatever the hell you believe in that all that egg shit is over. Blind people, deaf people, bitchy people, adults turned into tiny kids...

*She rolls her eyes and takes a long draw of her cigarette*

But being able to see doesn't mean jack shit when your leg is wrapped up like some kinda mummy.

*The camera now shows off her body and those legs (no doubt part of what earned her those nominations), one of which is in a cast*

Now I know there's a load of you out there with all kinds of abilities - anyone that can heal a broken leg? Make a scar disappear?

*With the camera on her face, Faye does a good job at putting on a very sweet smile*

Anyone wanna help a girl out?

[Y'all know the drill here. Well, anyone who's been here long enough to see this asshole hermit pop his head out of his burrow knows the drill here.

As usual, there he is on camera, smiling brilliantly, the grin a touch too wide, Midge seated comfortably on his shoulder. As always, the massive cockroach/lightning bug's dinner plate sized eyes are locked on the screen, his head tucked comfortably just under the demon's left ear.

Distantly, discordantly, there's something fucking awful playing, and there's an excellent chance that he set this up in preparation to do what he does best.

Be a giant piece of shit
]

Hello! And welcome to Genessia. I see there's a lot of new faces here today! And yesterday. And for the next few days as you all slowly trickle in, ripped from the comfort of your homes.

A few of you from your graves. The first most important lesson you'll all learn here in Genessia is that the laws of nature, whatever they were prior to your being here, don't apply anymore.

Please feel free to yell about it! Yell as long and as loud as you want at anyone you feel looks the most responsible for this. Point fingers and lay blame on strangers!

It's practically a tradition!

Now, I know that some of you won't pay attention to the hologram, or read the pamphlets, and will jump straight to the good old time honored tradition of shaking your fist at an uncaring, unfeeling and invisible pantheon of spirits or deities in impotence. It definitely won't do anything, but you do need to get it out of your system now, so please indulge.

For those of you who are dedicated to your fist shaking aimed skyward, let me just give you a quick rundown of your situation!

First: No, you can't go back! Well, not unless you do the thing.

[Right on cue, the bobble eyed bug on his shoulder placidly lisps-]

Do what thing, master?

The thing, Midge. You know. The thing no one here is allowed to tell you about, that thing. We discussed this at the last secret meeting- Oh never mind.

If any of you newcomers here want to know what the thing is, I can guarantee that one of our many city guardians will know exactly what I'm talking about! They're not allowed to tell you, so you might have to be a bit persistent, but I'm sure one of them will tell you all about the thing.

Second! We periodically experience sporadic failures in the upholding of reality.

What does this mean? Well I'd tell you, but you wouldn't believe me. Just not even a little bit-Not even a teensy bit. So I'm not going to try, just take my word for it. You'll know when reality breaks.

Third! In line with time honored traditions, everyone here loves being challenged to an impromptu street fight. Everyone. Don't even bother sending a warning, that's considered a social faux pax here, just throw a punch.

Do it.

Hit the first person you see directly in the teeth, I haven't seen a better way to make friends yet.

For more totally necessary, definitely not made up information about Genessia that I'm most certainly not lying through my teeth about, you were right to ignore the pamphlets and hologram, ask me!

Only right here and now though, I've only got an hour before an extremely important nap.

[Though she’s finally fairly well established and has found herself work and a home, she can’t help but deny she’s missing something. She loves her new apartment, and she’s entirely capable of cooking for herself, but… more nights than she’s willing to let herself admit, she finds that it’s far too quiet for her comfort now that her little roommate has grown back up.

Unlike her younger self, however, Dove is unashamed of admitting this weakness at least, and is more than adept at using her phone device at just the right angle. There’s a video feed late one afternoon, and a bright, disarming smile to accompany it.]

Hello! I’m Dove. I know I haven’t met many of you yet, but I was wondering if anyone would like to go to dinner tonight?

[There’s a bright flush to her cheeks, but her smile is steady and practiced; she’s used to this sort of thing, mostly, but… she might have also just realized she’s invited the entirety of Genessia on what sounds like a date. Really, she just wants a dinner buddy!

At least it’ll keep her busy for a while, and she won’t slip further into loneliness.]

[The voice recording starts off with some pained whimpers and the sound of footsteps.]

Is that why they made Mommy gain a red color? [The voice was that of a small girl and clearly one that is in a great deal of physical pain] Mommy and Daddy shouldn't be hard to find. People say I look a lot like Mommy. Leanne is okay.... The red color might have hurt me a little.

Well, let's make sure that you're not hurt any more. Leanne? Is that your name? My name is Lothar. [An adult male's voice can be heard very close, keeping a calm tone throughout the conversation.]

Would they be able to make sure I am not hurt? My lord Lothar? That's a strange name.

[The sound of footsteps were picking up as it sounds like someone was starting to hurry.]

Yes, little Leanne, exactly that. Well, I do come from some place very, very far away. My name must sound strange to everyone, then.

[The next few words start muffled as if the owner was clinging to another even tighter as more and more pained whimpers can be heard. Soon it sounds like they have entered a building and then a room. The shifting of cloth can then be heard and then the sounds of footsteps leaving and a door opening a closing. It wasn't long after the sound of the door close comes the next sound... A sound that anyone who was a parent would ever dread hearing, the crying of a child in true complete and utter pain. All the shrieks and cries for her mother and father along with the cry.]

[OOC: Red is Rendain and it may take Leanne a while before she can respond without the crying.]
