[Uai has kept his head low while he lets his little Glitch incident blow over. But now that he's had some time to gather more information, he's moving forward. With very innocent motives, honestly! Don't question them. He's definitely not trying to learn what kinds of enemies he might be making later on!]
Good afternoon, everyone. I apologize if this seems out of the blue, but it's been on my mind for a while now... Seeing as we all come from different worlds, I'm realizing that our definitions of things like "magic" and "science" are very different. It's gotten me quite curious. The limitations I have may not apply to your magic, or vice versa. We might all be accidentally limiting our reach by assuming we're the same.
... So. If I could have a few moments of your time? I would love to learn about how everyone's magic works. Is magic in your world based in some sort of "mana" that flows in the air? Or does it come from your soul? Genetics? Can it be learned, or even taught, in Genessia? Do you need tools? Do we need to make tools for you?
And what about science? If your technology closer to Attleton, or Nova City? Can you travel space yet? Do you have holograms? I wonder what kinds of inventions we could make if we put our minds together?
I hope I'm not being too nosy. It's just fascinating to think about!
[ooc note: If you want to, you can mark your reply "OTA" and use this post for general magic nerd parties? I am not opposed to that if your character is also curious.]

... An unfortunate kind of interesting, but none the less. I suppose that such an epidemic left little time for inventing other luxuries.

It rarely ended well for its practitioners. The more sensible among them moved towards religion, which satisfied the numinous desires its members held much better.
Science simply meant knowledge obtained through demonstration and a certain method.
[Not the most colorful definition, but it'll have to do.]
no subject
I'm sure the standard "scientific method" can apply in both fields.

For context: The 'Gods' back home were an active and blatant presence for me, and my 'magic' can be reproduced flawlessly. I've encountered a number of magicks that are based in formulas and math.
no subject
Mhm, but were they banal as well as blatant? They weren't robots, were they, who matched input to output exactly?
Ahaha, you've an interesting definition of "flawless".
[Cause boy was that not the impression he got, Mr. Glitch Dragon]

As for science... I don't really understand it myself. Science, the way I understood it, is the pursuit of knowledge, and building tools to do so. Such as telescopes to observe the sky. Magic and machines have also been combined, but those are breaking the proverbial glass holding the land together.
no subject
That's quite fascinating. In many worlds I visit, magic is what breaks the glass that holds this world together. Do princesses not study science in your world, or is it that you only received so much of a scientific education?
no subject
I only know the absolute basics of science in my world...

And I think most of us struggle with Nova's machines.

[Video] OTA? if people want?
The very basic tech in Nova City isn't unlike what I grew up around, although a lot of it is more advanced. I did have an advantage in that my mother was a pioneer inventor, as was her father, and they had a company that dealt with high-tech advances regularly.
What do you specifically want to know?
[He's curious, and sharing basic information could be useful.]
no subject
[He drops the subject to focus:] Interesting. It would be amazing if we were able to somehow take advantage of the technology here and invent ways to gain more control over our environment. There was an egg fiasco a few months ago that would have been great to have power over.
Do you have experience in inventing, then? Or did you not take interest in the family business?
no subject
[There's a shrug, as it doesn't bother Trunks too much really.]
I don't have their gift for invention no, although I know my way around the basics of mechanical engineering and maintenance, along with programming and coding. Circumstances beyond my control meant that going into the family business wasn't really an option.
What do you mean about taking control of the environment? I mean, they've done a lot of that already somewhat in Nova City. Unless you mean hydroponics or similar?
no subject
[He hums thoughtfully at the question, delving into speculation:]
Well, for example... Being less dependent on this devices that they supplied us would be an advantage. I'm sure there are things we can do to rely less on the 'kindness' of our captors.

innocent until proven guilty i swear
I know, and so does Trunks. ^^
you won't take me alive
Now you're just being silly. :D
8'D i've been told that before

Though the latter is only a family thing.

[UAI NO.]
That's interesting. I've heard of that theory in other situations. The eating others for their power. Would that mean that the blood or flesh is infused with magical properties, or is it a matter of consuming a soul?
I won't judge.
no subject
[He knows what it does, but has never done it himself really. he has seen others partake.]
Who knows, I just know it's a thing in the royal family. You can't eat just anyone unless that was a lie so we couldn't do that.
no subject
So then. How does that apply in Genessia? Hypothetically.

We also have technology, similar to Nova City but more industrial. [Her head tilts to the side.] Those who valued mechanics and technology often didn't like magic or feared it.
As for space... I'm not sure. That is a question for Edgar. He'd been able to make his castle move beneath the sand and earth.
no subject
Judging by your tone... Is it fair to assume that you're a magic user? You seem to have a lot of thought about it. Do magic users fear technology, or do you value it equally?
no subject
[She nodes her head.]
I am. It always made me different though it was hard for me to understand why. And no, I do not fear technology.
