1st Bite [Arrival! Action/Video]

When Li woke up, the first thing she realized was that she was in tight quarters and the second thing was the sound of water. The combination of the two sent her into a brief panic, lashing out with her legs to kick open the pod with a violent burst as she scrambled out of the pod and on to the beach. She barely registered where she was before she was making her way to the cave entrance. Somehow, she'd managed to keep hold of the box and pamphlet she woke up with.

The sandy blonde woman didn't calm down until she had the water far behind her and the sky over head at the cave entrance and only then did she start to really consider where she was...and felt annoyed that someone had dared to relocate her in her sleep!

She wanted answers and thankfully there was a conveniently placed hologram to help... Anyone strolling by would find a slightly impatient new arrival that didn't seem all that happy with the information being provided. But, at least she was smart enough to put on the necklace?

[Sometime after her arrival and finding her lodgings...Li decided to try out her phone. It wasn't the first time she's had one. It's just the first time she hasn't stolen one off some pour soul.]

So, Let me get this straight. Some jackass pulled me from where I was yesterday and put me here with a bunch of other people and now I'm trapped. Fucking hell that sounds like the story of my life right now.

[Yeah, she's not thrilled in the slightest. Can anyone tell?]

So, despite what the white hologram princess said, I only have one question. Where does someone get a decent barbecue around here? I'm partial to pulled pork personally. It's the closest to what I'd normally eat.

[It's not like she had anywhere to go as it was. Li would be waiting out side and pacing slightly as she waited. First thing to notice about the woman was.. she was rather inhuman.]

Took you long enough.

[She paused as she finally spotted him.]

[Well, good thing she wasn't the only inhuman that he's ever met. The first thing she'd likely notice about him was his unearthly allure. Something that he couldn't help as he answered her, almost losing his politeness only a little.]

Do excuse me for being unable to teleport from one place to the other. I'm afraid that is not one of my particular abilities, and if it's what you expect then you are welcome to refuse my aid.

[The closer he got, the more she noticed that allure and it definitely tugged at the more primal part of her being. It made her pause and just study him for several minutes and yes, she might be eyeing him up a bit.

It really wasn't hard to tell that underneath her perpetual anger and attitude, there was definitely interest. But, for now Li was pushing it off for the sake of a very different hunger. Li wanted food since she hadn't eaten in... weeks? At least one, maybe more. She didn't remember. ]

...Fine, sorry. Just show me around this place. Human structures and I don't always get along.

I know the feeling, but just like most here, you'll have to get used to it.

[Says the man who is and therefore smells human.]

Why are you so set on barbecue pork anyway? Seems an odd request from a new arrival. Especially one that's so obviously not human.

[His scent wasn't hard to pick up on and he was definitely human. Which admittedly made Li a little cautious when he asked why she asked for the specific food that she did.]

..It's the closest thing I can get to what I eat and not make humans want to kill me for trying to survive.

[She paused for a moment and just the way she was shifting gave way to something a little.. equine about her.]

Besides, I never said I was human. Why would I be? Just because I look it doesn't mean that's what I am.

I'm well aware that can be the case, and that comment alone is enough information to tell me that you feed off humans.

[Somebody was observant and very knowledgable.]

[She just paused and stood a little more at attention when he caught on to what she was indicating.]

...Yeah, What about it.

[Her entire posture became wary as if she were ready to bolt at any wrong move.]

Nothing, but from my understanding, there are places here where you should be able to still get what you need to survive. Substitutes that are probably better then pork.

[Funny that he didn't seem to be judging her, huh?]

[Yeah, that was strange and not like anything she was used to. Li just watched him for a few moments before nodding slightly.]

..Yeah, I'll have to check those out soonish. But, right now..decent barbecue will suffice.

Fine. Come then. We'll see what we can find. But first, I would assume you have a name?

[Unless they were stripped of it. She started moving, edging closer to him and yes, that allure of his definitely tugged at her. ]

Li. Just call me Li.

[He had taken notice of her edging closer to him, and every time she edged closer, he edged away from her, keeping the same distance despite not looking scared or bothered by what she was, which he wasn't. She wasn't the first non-human he'd met and been friends with after all.]

[Why did he keep edging away from her? Whatever, she just kept edging closer a bit more before finally settling at the distance he created between them.]

Why would anyone name their kid after a river in the underworld? Hell, why Greece?

[Then again.. She snorts faintly.]

My herd was from Ireland. So, I guess whatever.

Because my family would be greek, and you only name those you hate after those rivers. My brother was named Acheron instead.

Ireland is considered young in comparison to Greece.

[She frowned slightly.]

Ireland's not that young. Your people just didn't realize we were there. Besides, you're telling a water horse that Rivers are things people name you after if they hate you. That's not my experience.

[He chuckled.]

Oh, I assure you, you weren't there yet in the time I'm speaking of. And I never said anything about it being Rivers in general. Just rivers from the underworld.

[She rolled her eyes and walked with him.]

Yeah well, my homeland is old enough and how do you know that we weren't there yet? The aes sídhe are older than humans. Admittedly, we've vanished from the world in modern times..

[She snorted faintly. More like they went deeper into hiding and refused to leave their mounds and the other world entirely...]

[He chuckled.]

I didn't say your species didn't exist still. Just that Ireland wasn't really populated yet. You won't hear my argue that your kind came before humans. Though in my own world, I've watched the world destroyed and have to start over before, so who knows.

[She paused for a moment to give him a strange look.]

...There are legends even in my time about an island that existed before humans that destroyed itself and sank beneath the waves. You almost sound like you might have been from there.

[He frowned at that.]

You're speaking of Atlantis, and no, Im not from there.

[He didn't really like talking about it either from the looks of things.]

Is that what it was called?

[She glanced at him and somehow even she picked up the fact he didn't want to talk about that place.]

Whatever. Your past is your business, I'm just interested in finding food and then somewhere better than these human stalls to live in.

Yes, that's what it was called. What type of housing were you looking for?

[She frowned slightly and glanced back at the building and then at the buildings around them.]

...Something a lot more open than this. I hate being in enclosed spaces. It never feels like there's enough room to move.

[Even after all this time, she still felt like she should be bigger than what her human form actually was and it.. annoyed her.]
