Indian Summer Illusion: New residents, New villain, New anniversary [Video open/Action closed]

A [Video/Open to all]

[Mavis is sitting by the lake in Fayren.]

August is a great month of the year, isn't it?

[She sounds dreamy, and she might be blushing a little.]

I would have liked to be able to tell him that.

[She suddenly realizes the feed is open. She blinks and then simply smiles.] I've heard people celebrate anniversaries by offering something that corresponds to the number of years. Like... 50 years corresponds to gold, 60 years correspond to diamonds,... But I couldn't find a book about it.

Could one of you help me figure out what 3 years mean?

B [Text message - Private to Fayren's deputies + Moon Knight]
I believe you all saw this. Qubine, the villain in question is the guy who made the recent anonymous posts against heroes and guardians. I wanted to inform you that Aizawa - and probably some of his students - is going to be moving to Fairy Haven, for his protection. This means we need to be careful and keep an eye out for this villain.

According to the information I could gather, he's a human male, he has light blue hair and a disembodied hand covering his face. Though I suspect it's mostly a way to hide his true identity when actin as a villain, so he might not wear the hand all the time. Let me know if you notice any new arrival who'd match this description.

C [Action - Open to all Fairy Haven's residents/employees/regulars and to Aizawa, Bakugou and whoever they decide to bring with them]
[Mavis is waiting by the entrance of Fairy Haven. She's watching the horizon intently. Suddenly, she claps her hands happily and turns around.]
Mira! Erza! I think I see them! Want to come with me and show them their new 'classroom' and their beds in the dorms? Tatlyn and Zeref, you're welcome to come too.
[Though she's not sure Zeref will want to.]
[[Edit OOC note: feel free to threadjack any action thread you want.]]

[It was only Bakugou and himself really. Orihime, was Guardian-Deputy so her role remained in Genessia. Bulla wouldn't mind the travel, she could fly if anything.

Aizawa had about two suit cases with him. He actually wore something normal, with a scarf around his neck, in the summer. If anyone cares to pay attention to his scarf, a small lump moves around, from left to right around his neck.]

Hello everyone.

[He gives a wave to the incoming people to greet them. He still looks tired as always. Someone shoot him a pillow.]

I'm Shota Aizawa. Your new residence, and magical instructor teacher.

[And what comes prancing about to greet Aizawa was what appears to be a small girl with...red wolf ears and tail. A being of the forest with a soothing presence, hopefully, to ease any anxiety of being in a new environment.

The little Elin curtsied for Fairy Tail's new friends.]

Hello~ I'm Tatlyn, Fairy Tail's healer. I do my best for all my patients, so please feel free to hurt your students all you want and send them my way.

[A soothing presence, and a more prominent dark sense of humor. She isn't serious about giving her more work, of course.]

[Aizawa was fine, so he told himself. It was more stressful than anxiety. He had allies and a network to work with back home. Here, he had to established new connections and trust, trust was the biggest factor. Thankfully Mavis was kind enough to take them in until then. He was more of an observant than a strategist. It was important he got the information out to the Guardians the most. Even though Shirataki wasn't much of a threat at the moment, he could be later on the road. He already had the jump on Bakugou. Damn bastard.

He spotted the red wolf girl, greeted her with a nod.]

I rather not resort to that sort of abuse.

[Dark humor or not, he responded deadpan and tiredly. He was used to people trying to joke wit him.]

If we have enough stubborn ones, brace yourself.

[Was he joking? ...Probably not.]

Good!

[Yes, don't give the Elin too much work.]

Stubborn, huh? I'm no stranger to stubborn. Anyways, my infirmary is down the hall if you ever need me. I practically live in it.

[He'd feel bad if he did that. Poor Recovery Girl had enough on her plate.]

Good to know. I'll try not to make you work too much.

[He trusts the wolf girl's ability enough not to question it.]

We meet at last.

{ Zeref stood up from the booth he had chosen as his own in the far corner of the main hall. Closing the book he had been reading, the book vanished into thin air; it would magically reappear upstairs onto his and Mavis' bookcase on the second floor, well out of view of anyone else in the room.

He took a few steps towards Aizawa, his featureless black eyes locked onto Fairy Haven's new teacher.
}

I am Zeref. I'm not a member of this guild, but I live here, regardless.

{ Mavis knew better than to ask him to join, regardless of how different the circumstances were in this world in comparison to their own. }

What all has Mavis told you so far about the two of us? { Yes; there is a very, very valid reason for this, and it's not their relationship. }
sleepingbagsensei: ([53])

[personal profile] sleepingbagsensei 2018-08-25 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Final boss?

Aizawa watched as Zeref approached him, studying him, trying to piece together what kind of person this guy was. He had a knack with observing people, mostly kids. Aizawa's expression didn't change, he still looked like some guy who needed a pillow.

Well, he wasn't exactly a guild member as well, but there was a reason why Zeref stayed.

He didn't know if Zeref and Mavis even came from the same world, only speculated. When Zeref asked a question, Aizawa didn't hesitate to respond.]

Nothing.

[He shrugged, which was true. If anything was posted in the network regarding relationships, that was another story. Although, he did remembered some of Zeref's comments posted back when Bakugou was trying to tame a dragon... or something. Damn kids.]

Was there a reason she would?

[Please don't tell him relationship, he wouldn't care.]

[personal profile] deathsought 2018-08-26 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
{ Close. Zeref studied Aizawa for a moment, but then continued. }

I would have thought so, but I'll assume that there is an equally valid reason why she didn't and will not overrule her decision.

{ No, it's not that. He's never considered it anyone's business but their own, and the only reason he told Erza and Mirajane was so that they wouldn't be too shocked to find him here and start a fight. Both of them were surprisingly understanding, and that should have been his first clue as to what happened in the future of their world. }

I spend most of my time studying the magic of this world, as well as the magic from other worlds. I understand that you, yourself have a unique ability. The ability to cancel out the effects of your world's equivalent to magic. Hypothetically speaking, is there a limit to what you can or can't nullify?
sleepingbagsensei: ([57])

[personal profile] sleepingbagsensei 2018-08-26 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Then we'll leave it at that, it's the most logical response.

[He simply comments. This is the man who goes by rationality. Maybe it wasn't important or, perhaps he would learn in a later date. For now, he kept it in the back of his mind.]

I'm not sure how you acquire magic from your world, but where I'm from, quirks lie dormant until we reach a certain age. It manifests and becomes our own at that age. [A small sigh.] And not everyone owns a quirk.

Hypothetically, yes, but the limit to what varies. It's a strong quirk, but I imagine like any 'magic' there are drawbacks.

[Aizawa didn't mind sharing much of his own quirk, only what is capable of. Most of his world knew about his quirk so it was no different here.]
deathsought: (pic#10034689)

[personal profile] deathsought 2018-08-26 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The potential to use magic more or less works the same way, but it's often hereditary. If your parents could use it, there's a good chance that you can, as well. Specific forms of magic require years of dedicated study and practice, and it's rare for somebody to learn more than one or two forms of magic.

{ Just as Zeref thought, then. He knew it was probably too good to be true. Just 'canceling' the Curse with typical forms of magic nullification was probably the first thing he tried. }

So it is safe to assume that it cannot override the will of the gods themselves, in the form of a divine curse?
sleepingbagsensei: ([13])

[personal profile] sleepingbagsensei 2018-08-26 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
It's better than being stuck with the short end of the stick.

[Magic was a choice as quirks were random. Just as most of the stories from his world. He can't help but noticed Zeref questioned the same as Mavis did. It was enough to bring his attention.]

Hn... [He pondered for a moment with a small sigh. To stop a God huh... It almost had taken him back on his previous mission rescuing the young girl with a dangerous quirk.]

I cannot confirm if I haven't done it myself to a being like that. Logically speaking, it immobilizes the user's quirk for period of time, the curse unchanged.

My apologies.
deathsought: (pic#10034693)

[personal profile] deathsought 2018-08-27 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
No argument there. None of what I accomplished would have been possible without magic. { Most of which he regrets, but not enough to regret his life's crowning achievement: Natsu. Even knowing what he knows now, he still can't say he wouldn't have made the same choice again if it ever came to that. }

Don't worry about it. It was likely a pipe dream, anyway. To be perfectly honest, it has been easier to accept here than in my own world. Both Mavis and I have reached the conclusion that the influence of the god in question is far weaker in this world than in our own. I suppose that is the best either of us could have hoped for.
sleepingbagsensei: ([53])

[personal profile] sleepingbagsensei 2018-08-27 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[He didn't want to give anyone false hope. There is someone with a quirk that's a possibility, but there were too many factors involved, it was best not to bring it up.]

It's better than nothing. [He shrugged, and he didn't know much. He didn't have to worry about beings such as Gods. But... maybe one villain came close to resembling one like that, only cause he had multiple quirks.]

What some calls a curse where I'm from depends on the quirks. Some quirks are easy to live with while you have certain quirks that makes life more difficult. The most logical thing to do is to adapt and control it. Use it, don't let it use you.

[Harsh, honest, and helpful advice? Don't even get him started with his quirk.]

[personal profile] deathsought 2018-08-28 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
If only it were that easy. { Zeref hated himself for taking advantage of certain aspects of the curse to pursue his own research, and he would still never wish it upon his worst enemy, and would still do just about anything to be free of it altogether. The only reason he hasn't searched more diligently for a way to break it while he and Mavis were here was because of how mercifully few incidents they've had of it flaring up while they were here. }

I've likely already said too much. What Mavis chooses to do or share in her own guild is her prerogative, but all I ask is for privacy.

[That bad, Aizawa couldn't imagine it being any worst. He was putting the pieces together and getting an idea. A defeated small sigh escaped.]

Fine. But if I find something you're looking for, I'll pass it to you.

[He began to move, believed the conversation was over, unless Zeref had anything else to say, now was the time.]

Then do whatever you want with it.

Pleased to meet you. I'm Erza Scarlet, the deputy guild master here.

[Erza offers her hand for a handshake, though once that's done, she has a small barrage of questions.]

So you're a hero, right? Do you have a costume? Do you need powers, or can you become one by training? Oh, what's the toughest evildoer that you've vanquished? [She's a bit of a fan of heroes, seeing as she admires their sense of justice. (Not to mention their style)]
sleepingbagsensei: ([60])

[personal profile] sleepingbagsensei 2018-08-27 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Likewise. Thank you for allowing us to stay and use the facility, Scarlet.

[He shakes her hand as well before he is boomeranged with questions. Well, thankfully he's used to it.]

Yes, I am. I'm wearing my costume. [An outfit that looks like a pajama with a belt and white scarfs covering his neck and just above his chest.] It's required you have a quirk to apply for one. Ah, does raiding the Yakuza count? Let's go with that.
redhairedknight: (pummeled but proud)

[personal profile] redhairedknight 2018-08-28 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. And what is a quirk? ...and a Yakuza?
sleepingbagsensei: ([53])

[personal profile] sleepingbagsensei 2018-08-28 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Quirks are what we call in our world, 'super powers'. My quirk is Erase. I can erase other people's quirks by looking at them. In short, I can be a mage's worst enemy.

A Yakuza is a large criminal organization in my world. They break multiple laws either by being crafty or finding loopholes in the law. It was one of my assignments before waking up here. [If that's how dream docks worked.] We had enough charges to bust them with, and raided the place. The information is classified, but it was a successful mission.

[A shrug.]
redhairedknight: (stern)

[personal profile] redhairedknight 2018-09-15 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Erza nods, definitely agreeing with that assessment.] I've seen a few people who can negate magic - they can certainly be tough to deal with.

I can see how that would be annoying. [Luckily for her, dark guilds back home tend to be completely unsubtle once their plans are in motion.] Do your students help you out in situations like that, or are they not ready for that kind of work? [She's heard a bit from Mavis, so she at least knows that Aizawa was a teacher back home.]
sleepingbagsensei: ([23])

[personal profile] sleepingbagsensei 2018-09-17 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods.] That's the idea. Throw the enemy off on what they're used to, then go in for the capture.

[He scratches the back of his head, dragging the hand down the back of his neck.] No. In normal circumstances, they can participate in missions during their internships with certified hero licenses.

Mind if I ask you something?
redhairedknight: (happy)

[personal profile] redhairedknight 2018-09-18 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Of course I don't mind - what do you want to know about?

[Erza's just happy to be able to help a real-life hero!]
