[video] Halloween Curse shenanigans

Well, I have to admit, this has been a very curious morning.

[Albus Dumbledore is sitting in a chair in front of a small table ~~in a place that is not his normal living quarters shhhh~~ and looking at his own hand with a small, mischievous look on his face.

There's nothing in his hand, until his smears his thumb over his palm and a small hard candy appears. He raises his hand up and drops into the palm of his other hand. And then drops another hard candy, and another. And then he releases a candy cane, and a lollipop, and a roll of taffy, letting them accumulate in a small pile on a table in front of him, each item appearing out of thin air.

It's almost like watching a magician pull a trick, except his sleeves are rolled up, and he doesn't have his wand.

He seems utterly delighted by this, his eyes shining with even more mischief than normal.]

Tell me, would anyone be interested in some candy?

((OOC: Dumbledore is now a deity! Specifically the deity of sweets.))

[He laughs lowly and rubs a hand over Albus's chest.]

England can stuff it. You're the only one that matters to me.

Though I know you would be insanely in love with an heir or two.

We'll have our own. Somehow.

[He looks more thoughtful at that, though his smile remains ever clear.]

We have paths we can choose if we would like children. Even if neither of us bears them ourselves, we can still move forward.

[Touch Gellert's face, he asks:]

Would you want a child, though? Not for my sake, but for your own?

[Gellert can deny Albus nothing. He smiles at the forethought and strokes over the other man's cheek and jawline.]

I would want a child to call ours, yes. I don't want a household full of them, mind you, but one or two would be nice.

[Albus' smile grows ever wider at that, sincere and breathlessly happy, and he pulls Gellert in for a deep, grateful kiss.

When they break away, he says:]

I think I can content myself with one or two.

[He is surprised into a dark flush, his eyes widening before he shudders to his core. Albus's happiness flows over him like the warmest of cloaks and he smiles gently at the sensation.]

A boy and a girl?

[Leaning their foreheads together, he says with a breathless laugh:]

That seems fair enough. One of each to coddle and teach in turn.

[His hands drop to hold Albus's waist and he tilts his head just enough to kiss his lover tenderly.]

Twins?

[He smiles into the kiss, the delight radiating off of him in the way he returns the touch and how his eyes brighten as Gellert pulls away.]

If we're able. Though if we're not careful, they will team up against us.

[Albus is glorious in his joy and Gellert memorizes his expression, gently touching his cheek.]

I fully expect them to team up against us and win sometimes.

[He chuckles and leans his face into Gellert's touch, eyes bright and happy.]

As they should, I suppose. Especially since they'll be inherited both of their fathers' habits for mischief.

It's unavoidable and we have generous senses of humor.

[He pauses long enough to brush their lips together warmly, taking his time to kiss Albus properly.]

[He sighs softly and parts his lips to return the kiss, sinking into the contact happily.]

They will be far too clever. I'll look forward to seeing what wits they have as they grow up.

[Gellert is only too happy to deepen the kiss, purring against his lover's lips and tongue.]

I'm hoping at least one of them will be interested in Runes.

[Albus groans softly in turn, his eyes lidded and please when their mouths part.]

They may well be. They might start with the Hallows symbol they see all over their fathers' home and go from there.

[He grins and brushes his thumb across Albus's lips.]

I want them to take what we've learned and expand on it. Imagine their genius built upon ours.

[His lips stretch into a lazy grin beneath Gellert's thumb, and he murmurs:]

Perhaps they can inherit our mantles and be the greatest witch and wizard of their generation, once they are grown.

[He is clearly excited by the prospect and he glances down at the tattoo on his thigh.]

I would like that, but...

There are more important things.

[Albus notices the glance. He reaches down with one hand and traces his fingertip along the lines of the tattoo.]

And what would those be, I wonder?

[The Deathly Hallows mean so much more to him than a simple symbol or fairy-tale. They exist - they know they exist - and it is because of them that he has Albus.]

Connections like ours.

[Albus smiles, his finger still running slow lines across each angle of the symbol, memorizing its shape on Gellert's skin.]

I don't doubt they will find those that would match them well. And their fathers will be more open-minded than others about what genders those matches may be.

[He is intensely aware of the touch, his gaze shifting from Albus's face to his hand.]

All I ask is that their partners be their soulmates.

{Is that too much to ask?}

[Palming the Hallow underneath his hand, he answers:]

They will know better than us when they meet their true match. All we can do is wait and see.

[His expression intensifies and he covers Albus's hand with his own.]

We need to look out for them.

[Albus turns his hand to entwine their fingers, squeezing them together.]

And we will. We will not let them run off with scoundrels. But they will know the match for their own souls better than we could.

[He exhales shakily and he is reminded starkly of their pact.]

Albus, I'm a scoundrel and you ran off with me. Only to have your heart broken.
