 Well, it was fucking nice while it lasted.

[Li's sitting somewhere on the shores of Fayren under the moonlight with nothing more than a large shirt on and looking annoyed. She liked being a Siren damn it and now several days later, she's still wishing she had it. Then again, it wasn't what she really was... She sighed and glanced to her phone while she ran a hand through her hair, noting that it was getting longer again. Unlike when she was a siren, it's back to being a sandy blonde instead of black once more.

She grumbles softly.]

So, is everyone else back to what they're supposed to be or are there still a few sirens out there? It was... nice not  being the only one again.

...I think I need a fucking vacation. You two back to normal? And Albus, I hate you. I want more sweets damn it and can't eat them now.

Yeah, It was. I was able to do things I haven't been able to do in a while.

Not actually a siren, but I can do the voice thing. The explanation for why is... somewhat complicated. I can also walk on water or breathe under it.

Wait, what? How the hell can you do that?

The root is an ability called Dominance. I can use the abilities of creatures typically considered monsters or demons. Siren, Scylla, Undyne... it's a really long list, those are just the ones I mentioned before.

[Not gonna mention he has to defeat them and steal their souls to do it. Nope. This is already awkward enough.]

The..Dominance huh. That doesn't sound very pleasant so just how do you get the abilities of other creatures with something like that?

Usually by fighting them. It's... pretty much exactly what the name implies. Not pleasant for anyone involved, but I will say up front that I've never fought anything that didn't try to kill me first. Usually several at a time.

Then I'm sure as fuck not fighting you. I'd rather keep my hide and my abilities if you make it a habit of defeating monsters and dominating them some how.

As I said before, I don't fight anything or anyone that doesn't attack me first. And it's not a habit. I have no control over the ability itself.

What do you mean you have no control over that ability? You'd think that's something you'd want to control before something stupid happens with it.

I was still me as a Siren so my words carry over.

[She hesitated for a moment.]

...I was.. just happier. For the break from the curse and that there were others sirens around. For once, I wasn't alone.

[Shut up. She's not being sentimental. He's imagining it. Li huffs softly before turning her attention back to her current.. sweet's withdrawl thanks to a certain former deity of candy.]

Never did get to taste actual strawberries. But, that's probably a good thing or I might be even more annoyed with the lack of sweet things I can eat.

I'm sorry you had to lose that. I can only imagine what a relief it would be to be free of the troubles you've carried.

Perhaps you may have a chance to experience strawberries another time. This place is still full of tricks when it comes to us denizens.

[She nods slightly and hopefully, he was right. And.. she was grateful for the momentary relief even if it had only been brief.]

Maybe. I guess we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

[Oddly enough, it's the calmest she's been all week, despite the crash of the waves against the shore and the glow she can't help peeking out along her wrists from below the sleeves of her sweater. Her time as a Siren has definitely bolstered her confidence in being this close to the sea, along with the reassurance of its Light from before. Even as the water rolls and the sand shifts under her feet, it's the steadiest she's found herself.

She walks quietly along the shore, eyes watching the moon cast her reflection across his surface and her wings standing tall behind her. No sense in hiding them; after having lost them, even if only for a week, she feels so much more comfortable with them at her back.

When she notices a figure up ahead, she pauses, feeling them out before...hesitating even longer. Li...]

[After she addressed the network Li had put her phone away and was sitting on the beach staring out at the water. The sound of crashing waves, the smell of the water.. It was soothing to her. As much as she hated her curse, having a chance to be some strange semblance of "normal" for a week was a relief.

Hell, even as a siren she had been closer to what she should have been! That week had.. been nice. But, it also gave her that pesky thing called 'hope' and she hated it. The Kelpie was back to being the last one and she hated her damned curse. So, she kept staring out at the water, only tensing slightly when she heard someone approach.

Li looked up and spotted Dove. How could she miss her with those large wings? Did she get cursed with something else..? No, wait.. Li knew the answer to this. Dove was supposed to have wings like she was supposed to be an equine.

Now the question was, would Dove approach? Li wasn't going to chase her off if she decided to. After everything that happened that week, Li wondered just how many of the other sirens would want to keep in touch. She doubted many.]

[After a few more seconds of indecision, Dove finally makes her way over to the other woman, tugging her sleeves down over her hands as she goes. Not that she can hide the markings crawling up her neck, but they’re slowly dimming the closer she gets.]

…hey. You alright?

[Sure, she was anxious and frustrated with her own circumstances, but Li had been given a taste of the sea again. Now knowing a little more about her curse, Dove wouldn’t be numbed toward her in favor of her own drama. While she might not understand it in full, she can feel the longing secondhand.

Besides, Li had taken care of her while she had been a siren. She owed her that much, at least.]

[Good luck hiding the markings. Li's already noticed them though she's not going to comment as Dove comes closer.]

..Yeah.

[No she wasn't. Li turned her attention back to the water and it really wasn't hard to see the longing echoing in every fiber of her being. That longing for her true form and for a herd again. The brief moments of... normalcy ended way too soon in her opinion.]

[She nodded in silence, knowing full well that Li was lying to her. The longing, raw and fresh, hurt- that much was an all too familiar feeling for herself- but at least Li had a real reason for it.]

Cold?

[...surely, given she only had on a shirt and was at the water's edge.]

[A real, very painful reason for her longing.]

Maybe a little.

[Maybe. Li wasn't paying attention to the fact that she was cold at the water's edge. Not with everything on her mind lately.]

[She looks away from her a moment, back to the waves creeping up along the shore, then shrugs out of her sweater and unceremoniously drops it around Li's shoulders before taking a seat next to her in the sand. The markings along her arms have faded, but are still visible under the moonlight now that she's just in a lacy tank top. It might be odd... but somehow they seem to be keeping her warm as well.

Seems like maybe she's content to say nothing for the moment, but at least the company is nice..]
